Meyer, Herman and Warinner were with him the other night. Knox had supposedly scheduled visits to Texas (this weekend) and UCLA (next weekend) but tweeted last night that he'd be staying home this weekend so the Texas visit seems to be off. Recruiting people seem to think he'll skip the UCLA visit as well. He was pretty annoyed the other night after Herman tweeted the whole "#NotOnMyWatch" thing after the visit because different recruiting sites (if I had to guess it was Bill "50/50" Kurelic from 247) were trying to get updates from him. Kurelic is notorious for calling kids dozens of times a day to try and get a story. Quite a tool.

The dollar amount worries me because it's less than Fickell's made the last 2 seasons and it would be weird for a guy to come in and be in charge of the defense for less. Hopefully, based on performance, Luke is below that now at around $500k. And true enough with regards to Bert...lol. Wanted out so bad he took a pay cut.

Some stuff from Amazon comes that way for me. Never had any issues. You may very well get it today. They tend to play it safe with the estimated deliveries if I'm remembering correctly.
-
Ash took a $30k pay cut from his salary at Arkansas just looking at base numbers. Will make $520k for 2014. Seems a little odd to me.

Pretty badass tweet from Herman after the in-home tonight... Tom Herman @CoachTomHerman 24m Flag FIRMLY planted in Fort Worth. No worries. Just smiles. #ProudBuckeye #Dream14 #NotOnMyWatch Still never quite sure with Knox but that's awesome.

Yeah, Bill Greene on Scout said it's 50-50 on whether or not the visit even takes place. Says the coaches won't be pleased if it happens but that's about all they can do is tell him they aren't pleased with it. Said Knox will definitely be signing with OSU and already has a 614 area code cell number.
-
Yeah, Knox is a bit of a headcase. He's a guard though so he wouldn't be a huge loss. And Baugh has been suspended indefinitely so that might explain why they were continuing to chase Gesicki and now offered Njoku.
-
And OSU officially offered David Njoku this morning. 3* ATH from NJ. With Gesicki looking pretty solid with PSU I think Njoku is a probable TE at OSU. Visiting next weekend.
-
2015 5* RB Damien Harris has decommitted from Michigan. Started following OSU coaches Tim Hinton and Stan Drayton on Twitter within the past day or so. It was believed for a long time that he was going to go to Michigan but I think OSU finished a strong 2nd...
-
durby durby doo doo doo... ignore this.
-
And Tim Hinton just stopped by to check in with 3* TN DT Mike Sawyers who decommitted from Vandy within the last few days. With Nnadi on campus and Hinton checking in on Sawyers I'd say they want a DT.
-
Just committed to MSU which is where people expected him to commit before he committed to Nebraska in the first place.
-
Lots of Urban Meyer influence in his rules. Some taken straight from what Meyer has used since he was at Utah. I don't know the specifics about OSU's stuff on living off campus or punishment for missing classes but most of the other ones are taken right from Urban since Strong worked under him at Florida.
-
And it looks like Vandy is going to hire Stanford's DC. Thomas' primary recruiter at Stanford had already gone to Boise State so if this guy takes any more assistants (ie. Thomas' potential position coach) it can only help OSU.
-
It would seem Slade's offer and decommitment are directly linked but maybe not. Larry Johnson Sr. in Texas today so I'd imagine he'll go see Thomas.
-
And as I suspected, Herman is in Texas checking in on at least Knox.
-
Meyer will NOT be at the game tonight. A visit like that this late in the game would count as an in-home visit which Meyer would obviously like to save until later. Franklin is doing his in-home with Gesicki this weekend so if Meyer wants to flip him he'll want to go in after that. If Gesicki is interested at all. For those who don't know the situation here... PSU used a lot of 2 TE sets under O'Brien. And they've got some solid TE's on the roster already. But 2 TE sets means if you're 3rd or 4th on the depth chart at the position you still have a good shot of seeing some time. Vandy's offense barely used the TE. Here are the TE numbers for all 3 schools from 2013... PSU TE stats 2013 - 60 catches for 758 yards and 7 TD's Vandy TE stats 2013 - 20 catches for 227 yards and 2 TD's OSU TE stats 2013 - 34 catches for 566 yards and 5 TD's Obviously OSU didn't utilize the TE's as much as some people thought they might but once they get more Meyer-style TE's on the roster (ie. Marcus Baugh who had his little legal mishap and redshirted) I think that will change. Or once Herman is confident in Braxton's ability to hit Heuerman or Vannett down the seam.

I should have put respectively at the end of my post. If Herman goes anywhere it will be Texas. If Fickell goes anywhere it will be Florida. Maybe just check up on some Ohio kids. If anyone is going to land OSU Solomon Thomas at this point it will be Herman and Johnson. It was Herman and Vrabel before so Johnson will have to slide in there and try to form a relationship with Thomas. Last I read though some were saying OSU may be 3rd now behind Stanford and Texas coming on with the new coach hype bump. Funny little thing happened on Twitter today... Chris Ash' twitter was updated to say he was the OSU DC/secondary coach. No "co-" in front of DC. Media people on twitter saw it and pointed it out. His twitter has now been updated with "co-". :lolguy:
-
LJ Sr. on the road with Coombs and Drayton today up in Michigan. LJ Sr.'s main target being Malik McDowell. Zach Smith in Virginia today to check on Nnadi and several 2015 guys. Saw Hinton stopped by to visit a 2015 TE in Connecticut. Just leaves Herman and Fickell who are probably headed to Texas and Florida.
-
Some saying Meyer might be at Gesicki's basketball game tonight, some saying he won't be. He will be in the area though as class of 2015 OL Steven Gonzalez is expecting a visit from him and Warinner today.
-
So if the Nnadi visit goes as planned this weekend he should be able to help with that. Think they have to wait a bit to make Ash official since Vrabel was so recent and the whole public job listing BS.
-
3* OT Brady Taylor from Columbus (currently committed to VT) will probably flip to OSU. Visits this weekend, was offered last week. 4* DT Derrick Nnadi is supposed to be visiting this weekend as well and has a relationship with Larry Johnson Sr. so that's a possibility. OSU has been in his top 3-5 the whole way without much talk about him. It's the last day of the dead period today so game on tomorrow. Not sure how much room the staff thinks they have but Urban is usually good for a surprise or two in the home stretch.

The UGA DC hire was pretty interesting. They lost their guy because Louisville offered $1m/yr. They go out and hire someone possibly better (FSU's DC) $150k less and get him. Been thinking about the salary for Chris Ash this morning. Luke made $600k last year and Withers made $580k. Ash was getting $550k at Arkansas. I'm still really hopeful that Ash will be in charge of the defense and Luke will retain co-DC title but really just coach the LB's. But I think a pay cut for Luke would be in order and Ash would have to be getting at least $650k. Also, a note on Ash from Marc Givler...
-
Another note on Ash, he was the DC for Wisconsin in 2012 when they held OSU's offense to 7 points in regulation. OSU averaged 34.8ppg and 423.8ypg in 2012 but his defense held OSU to 211 yards and 14 points in regulation (7 of those points came from a Philly Brown punt return TD). Braxton had 23 carries for 48 yards.
