  1. If O'Brien is gone it seems like Gesicki will flip to OSU.
  2. Urban spoke about possibly making a change in the secondary for the bowl game and rumors started popping up a couple days ago as to what those changes may be but nevada is saying it is confirmed... Tyvis Powell is replacing Pitt Brown and Vonn Bell is taking Powell's spot at the star. I wish they would have figured this out in the first bye week of the season (said as much in whichever version of this thread we were on) but they didn't so whatever. Can't wait to see Bell out there for a full game.
  3. I love me some Mike Leach but dude needs to learn how to win a game like that. He didn't fumble the ball but his unwillingness to take the air out of the ball up as much as they were must have been excruciating for Wazzu fans to watch. And possibly good news here... FootballScoop Staff ‏@footballscoop 1h Sources telling us that Jeff Monken will accept the Army head job If true I can't see OSU losing Warinner elsewhere. Army was worrisome because of his history there. Raekwon McMillan celebrating the news...
  4. Looking that over in its entirety I guess the best news is that unless Baldwin gets a spot and Decker leaves early the entire OL would be able to stay together for 2015.
  5. Braxton improved a lot this year. How quickly people forget how he was slinging it around for most of October before OSU had to go run heavy due to weather (cold + wind) then, IMO, were rusty as far as the passing game was concerned when they got into a controlled environment in Indy. Anyway, moving past that... I had a really long post typed up last night around 5AM about the OL and ended up not posting it for some reason...lol. The gist of it was this... Likely starters... OT Taylor Decker (Jr.) OG Pat Elflein (RS So.) OC Jacoby Boren (Jr.) Possible starters... OT Darryl Baldwin (RS Sr.) OT/OG Evan Lisle (RS Fr.) OT/OG Chase Farris (RS Jr.) OG Billy Price (RS Fr.) No one knows... OT Kyle Dodson (RS So.) OT/OG Tommy Brown (RS Jr.) OG Antonio Underwood (RS Jr.) Incoming freshmen... OT Kyle Trout OT Jamarco Jones OG Demetrious Knox OG Marcelys Jones Trout and M. Jones will be enrolling early so I guess there's a very, very, very slim chance one of them could win a starting job but I highly doubt it. I could see a couple in the "who knows" category transferring. Haven't really heard much of anything on any of those three except I believe most people say Brown is pretty much useless. This is why keeping Warinner or at the very least finding a solid replacement will be absolutely crucial. They need to find at least 2 starters (I don't think Boren is a lock to start) out of a group that includes 3 guys who were actually recruited primarily as defensive linemen (Baldwin, Farris and Price) and a bunch more who haven't done anything of note in 2, 3 or even 4 years on campus.
  6. Probably extreme hyperbole but there are people out there who think Corey Smith is the best WR on the team. Whoever is behind center next year is going to have some serious weapons. Smith, Marshall and Greene should really add to the WR's and they've all been in the program a year. Not even talking about the true freshmen.
  7. You most certainly are not. I only read/posted in this thread because... well... like the interviewer in GQ I knew what a lot of people's reactions would be and find them entertaining. :gabe:
  8. Definitely let out of a sigh of relief when Bowling Green didn't hire Warinner. Saw his name mentioned for Army a few times but didn't think much of it. Didn't know he was an assistant there for over a decade before. People seem to think he takes that job if offered. Breaking in 4 new starters on the OL and a new OL coach in 2014 would be less than ideal but it's been a known possibility for most of the season.
  9. Something worth noting, 5* DE Solomon Thomas out of Texas has OSU scheduled as his final official visit in mid-January. Most have felt he's a Stanford lean for a long time but his primary recruiter at Stanford, QB coach Mike Sanford Jr., just accepted the OC job at Boise State. His primary recruiter for OSU is Tom Herman with Mike Vrabel helping out as well. There hasn't been much chatter of Tom Herman leaving given the lackluster game he called against MSU so OSU should be OK there. Either way Vrabel isn't going anywhere and he'd be his actual position coach. So the almost definite additions still to the class... 4* CB Marshon Lattimore (OH) 4* S Erick Smith (OH) And possible additions... 5* DE Solomon Thomas (TX) 4* OT Roderick Johnson (MO) 4* OT Frank Ragnow (MN) 4* DE Malik McDowell (MI) - lots of people think he could be a stud OT but he wants to play defense. Could be a Joseph Barksdale situation. 4* DT Derrick Nnandi (VA) 3* CB Jermaine Roberts (LA) 3* OT Brady Taylor (OH)
  10. Will be interesting to see who OSU grabs. Something that's been pointed out and not something to brush off... OSU now has only 1 African American coach on its staff in Stan Drayton. You better believe a scumbag like Larry Johnson at PSU is licking his lips to talk about how racist OSU and Urban Meyer are. Something people are throwing around is bringing in Chavis now that a spot is open. Have Luke take care of LB's like he used to, learn more under Chavis, pay Chavis like crazy, etc., etc. He's not African American but he is Native American...lol. He's also not a DB coach though. He's a LB coach like Luke so they could end up butting heads if that happened. A pipe dream IMO but I'm glad one sub-par piece of the equation is gone.
  11. Withers is finalist for HC position at James Madison. Please take it. Please. Please. Please. Please.
  12. 2013 OSU signee OL Tim Gardner who Urban basically got fed up with and sent home signed with Indiana today. Also might hear something about Bryant's medical redshirt application today.
  13. He kind of is. I don't speak religion but the rest of his quote comes off that way... "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men." But homosexuals aren't alone, Robertson said. "Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers -- they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right."
  14. There would have been consequences for that as well. Probably would have lost half the show's fanbase.
  15. Yeah, apparently Luke had plenty of opportunities to take the FAU job but didn't want it. The guy they got ended up getting a 5-year deal for something like $2.5m so Luke would have taken a pay cut if that was the deal. Unless ND pays him something ridiculous that's not happening. And I don't see them paying him something ridiculous so nothing is happening. I think we're just going to be "stuck" with Luke. I put stuck in quotes because I don't think he's awful and going to stay awful forever but he's certainly not good yet. I really do hope Withers is gone though. Also just read that the two Glenville kids who are expected to choose OSU will do so at the Army All-American game. So just a few weeks and OSU will have another really high 4-star in Lattimore and a standard 4-star in Smith.
  16. This was expected but maybe happened a little sooner than expected... Class of 2015 (next recruiting cycle) 5* WR George Cambpell out of Florida decommits from Michigan. A coach he talks to regularly? Urban Meyer. I think he ends up staying down south but it'll be interesting to follow at least and it's nice that he won't be at Michigan.
  17. He's definitely not a burner but he's incredibly polished. That's what sets him apart. As Orion pointed out, he adjusts well to the ball and he does look bigger than anyone he is playing because he's physically ready for college and he knows how to use that physicality. With Dwyer down in the 2nd half of the state championship game this past weekend he went up against a kid with plenty of D1 offers and beat him on a critical play to take the lead and Dwyer never looked back. #7 in maroon. He beats him nicely 2 plays in a row there with the 2nd one being the TD where #7 tried to press him and he just did a little move and #7 ends up on the ground and Dixon ends up wide open in the end zone. OSU has him as an outside guy but with a solid WR core that OSU should have moving forward I'm sure they'll move him around to create mismatches. As for rankings I like to use the 247composite since it combines all of the sites into one nice, neat ranking. In that ranking Alabama currently has the #1 class with 23 commits averaging a rating of 92.99. OSU is #2 with 19 commits averaging a rating of 92.49. Marshon Lattimore will be a very nice addition with a 98.23 composite rating. Going off the composite here are the ratings of the players you listed earlier... WR's: #26 Jonnie Dixon #15 (ATH) Noah Brown #7 (ATH) Curtis Samuel #32 (ATH) Malik Hooker (and he will most likely be a safety) #35 Terry McLaurin (Indiana Mr. Football) #19 Parris Campbell (could be a Dontre/Jalin type along with Samuel) Linebackers: #11 OLB Kyle Berger (I think he's dropped a bit on a couple sites due to his ACL) #4 OLB Dante Booker #16 OLB (ATH) Sam Hubbard #1 ILB Raekwon McMillan
  18. I have Ultra with WOW and am about to drop them and go with DirecTV/maybe TWC or maybe stick with WOW for internet only and buy my own modem. Have had to replace 2 of their gateways (does TV, internet and phone all in one box) which resulted in LOTS of recorded stuff being lost. So it sounds like their equipment all around is not very good. If you're going internet only with anyone definitely look into buying your own modem. Will save you $5-6 a month on the rental cost and you can make sure you get a good piece of equipment.
  19. I don't think there's anything big planned for this. From what I've read it may just be a twitter announcement. His twitter is JDStandAlone.
  20. Odds from Vegas on Texas' next HC... Charlie Strong 2/1 Art Briles 9/2 James Franklin 5/1 Mike Gundy 7/1 Bill O'Brien 15/2 Chip Kelly 10/1 David Shaw 10/1 Jim Mora 10/1 Jimbo Fisher 15/1 Jim Harbaugh 20/1 Mike Tomlin 20/1
  21. More and more games are being put on ESPN instead of ABC for whatever reason. Basically every major bowl game will be on ESPN instead of ABC (Rose, Orange, Fiesta, national title game, etc., etc.). The playoff system that starts next season is contracted for ESPN through 2024 or something so all of those games will be on ESPN.
  22. Dixon announcing tomorrow. We can stand down, folks. The day is won.
  23. My work productivity over the last 2 hours or so has been pathetic.
  24. Maybe not something formal. Sounds like he could go ahead and join the party today...
  25. Gif of the end of the pick... http://i.imgur.com/VaBBJlk.gif At this point he has already grabbed the Alabama hat after saying he has a lot of great decisions there on the table then says I'm gonna have to roll with... and picks up and puts on the OSU hat.
