Game... blouses.
-
Billy Price moved from DL to OL. Figured that was a possibility for him and Munger. Of course Munger isn't around yet and may end up never playing either.
-
5* (on 247 at least) ATH Curtis Samuel out of NY to OSU. OSU now right behind Bama in 247's recruiting rankings.
-
The education is one thing but the special attention they receive for conditioning, training, coaching, nutrition, etc., etc. is a whole other level.
-
Roby's charge dropped to disorderly conduct as expected. Shouldn't be more than a 1-gamer at this point I think.
-
They're allowed but when does a high-level BCS program football player have time to work? Football is a year-round gig now. The second your bowl game is over you're in winter conditioning. Then spring practice. Then summer conditioning. Then fall camp/the season. Then repeat. On top of school. And any decent job an OSU football player could land that would really be worth their time would be looked at as a handout. There isn't enough incentive for the headaches it would likely cause. Like the kids who were suspended for a few games at the beginning of the 2011 season for taking too much money for their work. They got like $15/hr instead of $12/hr or whatever it was and $12/hr was what was researched/approved by OSU compliance. Their increase was never discussed/approved with OSU compliance so... boom. Suspended.

I think it was more a respect thing. OSU had an extra scholarship to throw around at the time so Tressel used it on Griffin's son. Obviously with the scholarship penalties that came down it ended up hurting a bit more than it should have. There it is. I knew there was a specific play last season where he did something and I said, "Welp, there's your scholarship."
-
Wood was iffy to even try this season with his shoulder. While I never liked Griffin taking up a scholarship he looked competent in the spring game so that's actually shitty. Could have at least contributed on ST.

Yeah, it seems like it wasn't supposed to be public. I think someone made a thread about it on Scout and it was deleted/refuted at first then nevada made a thread titled "Apologies to Bobby Carpenter" and said he is out for the opener. Still haven't seen a reason. nevada said it seems like a suspension that was kind of going to be like the team goes out onto the field and someone asks, "Oh hey where's Rod? Huh..." and that's the end of it...lol. Sucks that he can't seem to keep everything together. Had a good chance to do something with Hyde out and instead someone like Dunn, Ball or Zeke may step up and grab the spotlight in game 1.
-
I think he's definitely a good one but at this point I'm worried about all the hype going to his head. He seems rather confident though so it probably just sounds like all the things he tells himself already...lol. Some quotes from Dontre from Sunday's media day... "I pretty much set the standard. Most players weren't looking at Ohio State, but now that I'm here, everyone is." Wilson, when asked if he's bringing SEC speed to Ohio State, said, "I didn't think the SEC had that much speed." Wilson expects to "take it to the house, the first touch I get."

You just said on the last page that they have no tradition. THIS is their tradition. They are Nike U and Nike pumps out new uniforms for them whenever the feel like it. Yeah, it doesn't date back to the 30's like Script Ohio or anything but it's what they have. Their thing is being on the cutting edge of everything they can be. Facilities, equipment, etc., etc. All unmatched. Some of their stuff is butt ugly, some is really slick. You're going to have that when you change almost every game.
-
No Rod Smith for the opener. Haven't seen why. So we should get to see at least a little bit of Warren Ball for the first time. Probably won't do a ton of straightforward running like they would with the full stable of backs.
-
Yeah, he's just suspended. Meyer confirmed that yesterday at media day. The story I've read is that he was smoking weed in his camp hotel room bathroom and it set off smoke alarms. Some stories say it led to the evacuation of the hotel.

I mean, just look at the RB's on the roster and realize 7 is going to be starting... http://i.imgur.com/ueqQBI6.jpg

Apparently Philly Brown will no longer be a slot. Dontre doing so well he can take that over (with Chris Fields/Jordan Hall getting some catches there as well I'm sure) and Philly can move outside. Hope that works out. Philly was amazing for OSU last season on 3rd down in the slot.
-
I know some Steubenville guys were hoping he would do some good to reverse the town's rep. Oops. Another scholarship freed up I guess.

Top 5 defensive and top 5 offensive freshmen so far from nevada... lots of opinion/whatever/stuff we've already heard/read here so TIFWIW...

In case it read wrong, I wasn't calling you an idiot in my post. I was calling myself an idiot. You have perfectly reasonable excuses as to why you left your truck unlocked (carrying crying children, etc.). I was maybe carrying a pizza or something.
-
Awesome. Have been being an idiot lately and leaving my car unlocked. Like last night. Time to stop being an idiot. Especially since I was hit within the last 8 months or so by someone trying to steal my rims but somehow my easy to get around wheel locks held up.

By about the third nickname for Manziel I was dying.

I really wonder if they won't redshirt Zeke. Yeah, Hyde is out 3 games but they've got Hall, Smith, Dunn and Ball as RB's. 3 of them pure RB's with Hall doing the whole pivot/H-back thing. Reports have Washington jumping out in front as the best DL on the team. Need that front 4 to play really well early to help the new LB's (Perry mostly, Grant whenever he actually gets on the field).

Loving the "Bane" facemasks as I've seen a lot of people calling them. I just call them Justin Tuck-style since he was one of the first guys I can think of to start using them to try and keep offensive players from grabbing onto his... My dad is the worst. Was talking to him just a little bit ago and I hadn't been near computer or radio. He was like "so that guy broke his ankle huh?" And I was like... "WHAT?!" Thinking it was Norwell. Picked his brain a bit more and he was like... "it was a freshman... maybe a WR?" And I was like... "WHAT!?" Thinking it may have been Dontre. Get on and read it's Thompson... not that I want him to be hurt or that it doesn't suck but... not Norwell or Dontre.

Yeah, Hall must have started off with the 1's then it evened out throughout practice. Thank goodness.
