Get Fable 3 and other games free for having Xbox Gold
bicranium replied to Slimpsy1647545505's topic in Dumpster
Not an RPG fan so Fable doesn't matter. Will download Assassin's Creed 2 next month. Have AC3 but still haven't played it. Will also get Halo 3. Played it hardcore for a good bit when it came out then my friends and I just kinda determined that is sucked in comparison to Halo CE/Halo 2 one day and dropped it cold turkey. Will be fun to goof off on it again for free. I remember one map specifically where it was pretty simple to get a bunch of people in a warthog and drive everyone off the map for the lulz. Friend even made a new gamertag for it... OffTheCliffWeGo. People still got in the warthog with him. -
Starting to hear dat thunder in Pickerington now. Rushed a sloppy dump just a bit ago as I was worried I'd lose power whilst defecating.

MS has added features that round out the console as an all-in-one entertainment machine. Sony added a charge for online and a cross-game chat system Xbox Live has had for years. But the DRM/online check-in stuff, for whatever reason, has drowned all of that out. You're absolutely right though. All PS4 has done thus far is say "we're going to keep things the same" and people have gone crazy...lol.
-
Too bad none of the people without internet can see or complain about these online features.
-
Don't think there will be any problems with that. The used stuff is all software related. Software is linked to accounts. Accounts can be moved from console to console.
-
It's good that people are noticing that Sony slipped that in there among all the Xbox-related announcements. WE SUPPORT USED GAMES! WE DON'T REQUIRE INTERNET! (we will be charging you just like microsoft has to play online) WE ALLOW YOU TO LEND GAMES TO FRIENDS! Talked about the consoles with some internet friends on Live last night and was surprised how many of them also didn't care about the used games/internet thing. Will all be getting Xbox One's because they're just used to Xbox at this point. Maybe MS doesn't have to catch up or rethink things as much as I thought.

They've lost some guys since signing day. With him on scholarship they will have 82.

Article is over 2 months old. Tweets were done as a joke between friends. Guy was eventually "let go" because of it though.

Just hit up Gamestop at Taylor Square in Reynoldsburg and I got the last Xbox One. Got a PS4 as well (that makes 4 solid pre-orders of each for me now...lol) but there were some of those left. Could mean Sony is planning on shipping more off the bat, people are just reserving knowing they can cancel if they continue to not like what they see or people really don't care that much about the used game stuff. I think Gamestop does though. Their standard greeting on the phone says "where you can pre-order PS4." No mention of Xbox One. Had to ask. Probably not happy with MS right now.

I buy/play so few games that the whole selling a game that sucks thing rarely comes up for me. But I definitely understand it being an issue for someone who tries a bunch of different shit and sometimes runs into a dud. MS is definitely going to have to take a look at their policies moving forward. And pretty quickly or they really will have a big problem on their hands. The responses from the crowd at E3 last night as certain things were announced at the end of the Sony presentation should be more than enough to scramble the MS execs to reconsider some things.
-
It's funny that PS4 did really nothing spectacular. All they did was maintain industry standards and show a few average games. But there's no denying it had the desired effect. MS will have to take a hard look at their philosophy moving forward. As I believe I've pointed out before, the internet connection and used game things have almost no effect on me. But the reaction from the crowd when Sony got to that part of the presentation has to get MS thinking. The problem arises with the publishers. If MS did what they did with regards to the used games and required check-ins at the request of certain publishers to keep some games/content Xbox One-exclusive and they flip flop then they could lose them. But the publishers have to open their eyes too.

Have 3 pre-ordered so far. Will likely do the same with PS4's tonight when their price is released.
-
PS3 was $499 and $599 at launch over 6 years ago. Not sure why people are freaking out at a $499 price tag now. Although it is being rumored that Sony is aiming for $399 for the PS4. We should know tonight. Titan looked interesting. Same guys who made the good Call of Duty games and were run off by Activision after MW2 (the last COD that played well). I'll get Forza 5 and Dead Rising 3 as well. Next Halo in 2014, 60fps (finally) and dedicated servers (that $3.50/month that's been putting me on the edge of bankruptcy for Xbox Live paying off right there).

I believe Roby said something about the 1 jersey being pretty special and how Urban "awarded" it to him after last spring or something. Wilson could be very special though. Just a touchdown machine at one of if not the highest level of competition in Texas. Edit: little blurb about Roby and the #1 jersey at the end of this article... http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/blog/college-football-rapidreports/19898606/ohio-state-cb-bradley-roby-shines-in-buckeye-secondary

When I saw Meigs county I knew it was going to be running drugs. Idiot.

The reddit story is great. If you don't think every major company out there has people pumping their products on every possible social media site then you're not very bright. There's a whole subreddit dedicated to pointing those people out. The only reason this is a story is because r/gaming can't hate on the Xbox One enough right now.
-
There's just absolutely no chance that happens. Forza 5 is a launch title for Xbox One made by a MS developer. No way they'd let it be on the "old" console.
-
The thing is, the game companies are the ones driving the whole used game thing. So some people are afraid that MS accepting and implementing these policies will lead to the game companies wanting Sony to do the same. I think it's funny that Sony's "reveal" showed almost nothing and got a lot of crap for it. MS' reveal showed everything (at least as it pertains to the console - saved almost all game stuff for E3) and now, not knowing a ton about the PS4, it is the savior. Also, as far as controllers are concerned, it looked like the DS4 had some kind of trigger thing going on. http://i.imgur.com/tzepDjG.jpg So that's promising if everyone does end up moving over to PS4.

If you're going somewhere that doesn't have internet I tend to think it's to "disconnect" a bit from technology (camping, etc.). So why would you want to bring your console anyway? And if you're going to an event or something I assume it's in a place with, at the very least, cell phone service. Use your phone as a hotspot to check in real quick, boom... done. The most legit reason I've seen complaining about the internet check-ins are military overseas who go days or more without any kind of connection available and have grown accustomed to being able to wind down in what free time they do have with some video games.
-
I think the Xbox Live features (gaming/apps like Netflix, etc.) won't work at least. Just until the next time you can check in. The biggest thing with that is if you have a single player game you could normally play offline, if you don't do the check-in then you can't play that until you do.
-
Wow... and they're both ESPN (ESPN2 for Buffalo, ABC/ESPN2 for SDSU). Thought one or both of those would be BTN. Florida A&M has to be BTN. Then at least one of Purdue, Illinois and Indiana.
-
People don't like that you have to "check-in" with the MS servers once every 24 hours (so you have to have internet availability once a day) and the whole used game clusterfuck that I don't care about so I probably don't know enough to explain it but it's something like this... Different game publishers may or may not have agreements with a place like Gamestop to allow you to trade in your games. You can't lend games to your friends. You can give them/sell them to your friends if they've been on your friends list for more than 30 days but then they absolutely cannot sell them/trade them in after that. These are the two biggest complaints right now. I'm always around internet and if it comes to it I'm sure I could use my smartphone as a hotspot and "check-in" that way so that has no effect on me. I have bought/sold a game used a couple times in the last 5-6 years but have always wanted the ability to simply download titles at launch and that is going to happen with the One so I wouldn't be able to sell them regardless.

None of these "awful" things people keep pointing out have any effect on me whatsoever. The problem arises when the user base is diminished because of people who are affected by these things going to the PS4 or people who can't think for themselves just following along. Then it affects me because you end up with a smaller number of people to play with.
