Yeah, Hooker was a surprise. Definitely seemed like a kid getting in before everything fills up. Some think McMillan may commit earlier than planned which would obviously be fantastic. Supposedly a commit told one of the recruiting guys on I think 11w that Samuel committed on his visit this past weekend and will make it public sometime this week. Berrios may not have a commitable offer forever so he'll have to jump in quick too. Would be nice if the Glenville kids didn't fuck around this year but I imagine they will continue to get a free pass through January. Really want Prince.

The goal was to be at 10 kids from Ohio in every class. I don't see that happening with this class though. That's similar to the situation I had in my head while trying to figure out something in the middle of what all the reports are saying. Hyde said something she didn't like, she hit him, he tried to push her away in some manner. That's been the most logical narrative since this all started. I don't know what kind of punishment is warranted for saying something the girl doesn't like which results in her hitting him and he just responds by kind of shooing her away. It doesn't sound it was even a slap and obviously at this point no one is going with the crazy story that it was a punch. nevada is saying 4 games. "A guess, but an educated one..." As long as this all results in him seeing more of his golden boy Hall then he's happy. Such a douchebag.

And unfortunately we aren't going to until she gets back from her "vacation" out of the country with no cell service. CPD won't move forward until they talk to her and apparently won't talk to Hyde until they talk to her either. Hopefully she comes back soon so he doesn't miss meaningful camp/practice time because of a potentially completely BS situation.

I've read that there isn't a lot of love for Urban from his former co-workers at ESPN. He left after not even a year and went to a school they're all programmed to hate for reactions and ratings.

You know anything more about this? Reading that she didn't show up to a meeting with police to discuss what happened and an even more probably outlandish rumor that she left the country...lol.

Starting to get the players' sides of the story. This is from Bucknuts (a guy who talked to his "source" whose son very recently played for OSU) so take it for what it's worth... Much like how I hoped nevada was wrong (and he may have jumped the gun by saying Hyde was kicked off the team due to his bias) I hope that Bucknuts, a site I have almost no respect for, is right. Have to assume since this is the players' side that the truth lies somewhere in the middle. More inclined to believe Roby's situation at this point though since he was somewhat in hostile territory. If there's tape on Hyde then I hope it goes with his side 100%. Really wanted him to be Urban's first 1,000-yarder.

OSU is probably just shocked that the Dispatch went with it. Internet sites and "insiders" posting what's likely to come is one thing, the Dispatch going with it more or less makes it official which is an issue when nothing official has happened yet.

2014 will be interesting because they lose 4 OL and they aren't really set up to reload there. Bollman did a piss poor job of recruiting the OL his last couple years at OSU and Urban's guys haven't exactly hit it out of the park. They're hoping to this year and they're hoping to get a starting tackle in this class (JUCO) but that still leaves 3 positions wide open.

nevada saying 2 games for Roby which is what I was hoping for. Young guys get full game experience against Buffalo and SDSU then Roby is back for a road game @ Cal.

There seems to be something a little bit different with Hyde's case though. I read yesterday that he initially lied to Urban about it which is a big no-no. Haven't seen anything on that today as the actual police report is the focal point now but there doesn't seem to be a lot of hope for a Storm-like return here for whatever reason.

Bell's open container thing is old I think. From his brother's DUI. He was in the car with him. Could be wrong as everything is flying fast and furious right now. The 2013 freshman who wasn't at the meeting this morning was supposedly OL Tim Gardner.

Hyde had 56% of the HB carries last season and he missed 2 1/2 games. I understand this team has some new potential weapons and Hall will be back but Hyde was the sure thing.

And Bill Greene on Scout had this to say about the 2013 freshmen... "A few of the frosh have gotten off to rocky starts so far........." nevada said the team is at something of a tipping point and this morning's meeting would go a long way in which way it went. Have to imagine Urban put his foot down. Now just have to see how the kids react.
