  1. If he's talking monthly payments anywhere here, I guess I'll need someone to explain this slowly to me, perhaps using crayons and hand puppets.
  2. I'm having trouble following this. How could it be that someone with an annual gross of 60k (5k monthly gross) would only qualify for a 15k mortgage?
  3. FWIW Iron Pony has the Superior Hydro Lift on sale for $70. 1200 capacity.
  4. Got it. If you omit the high dollar items, it's been low cost so far.
  5. Nope, it's still sleeping peacefully under its cover. Two CR members have recommended it to friends who were interested, but I haven't heard back. I've been too busy to do up a CL ad. I'm going to do that for sure by next weekend if there's no interest from CR. I'd much rather it go to someone who will enjoy it and not just resell it. Are you wanting to buy a second bike from me? That's an endorsement.
  6. As much as you might hate to take it back to them, the shop that did it might insist that they make it right themselves rather than agree to reimburse you for work done elsewhere. However, if either your insurance company or the shop will agree to it, I would take it to a quality shop such as Kevin Clifford's and have it fixed right. That was a terrible job. Kids in high school body shop do a better job than that.
  7. The 69's are my favorite 442. This and the Pontiac GTO were the prestige GM muscle cars of that year. And if you had a convertible, or a high-performance package, it was heaven on earth. I hope you enjoy it to the fullest, Tim.
  8. I've owned close to 200 cars in my life, and don't know where a single car I've sold can be found today. "The mill will never grind with the water that has passed."
  9. This is a post from your previous thread and names two other racers: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1833905&postcount=9 Contacting them would be a start. I suspect others here have done it, but I don't know of anyone besides the two I've named.
  10. If someone will put dibs on one of the picnic tables at the shelter house, I'll grill weanies for you weanies at the noon break. I'm not willing to sit on the ground and cook. Bring your own beverage. I'll provide franks, buns, relish, mustard, onions, maybe some chips. No ketchup. Ketchup should not be used on hot dogs. If you have to have ketchup, bring a few packets from McDonalds.
  11. They're really amazing cars from my experience. I felt the interior was striking in its clean design .... it didn't seem cheap to me, but minimalist the way some Scandinavian house interiors are. And keep in mind you can upgrade a Tesla with different wood veneers. I'd take the Tesla over any BMW interior I've seen. I was close to purchasing one, but finally decided not to because of needing to trim down my number of cars. I feel that a Tesla is in my future after some of the newer models (with lower prices) arrive and after I settle on a different garage situation.
  12. Good luck with your new venture, Austin. I've always received excellent service at your stores.
  13. Rob checks CR at least a couple times a week. One of his businesses is Tech Again in Delaware. 740-815-3325
  14. The place was packed, as usual. Saw lots of great cars and many CR friends. I left before the car show ended -- does anyone know if Kevin took best of class? The FD was looking great.
  15. I decided not to be in the car show this year due to the cold, but I will be out around noon in the Slingshot for three or four hours. I imagine I'll park near the bleachers if there are still spaces there. Stop by.
  16. About how much "seat time" do you have in yours? I've only had 12k miles in mine ..... I suspect Jones and Draco have at least that much time in theirs.
  17. Looks to me that the rain will be done in a few hours, but of course the roads will stay wet, so that will likely make for a very small turnout at Sonic. There will be a slew of the FRS/BRZ's at IFO tomorrow. But tonight, it's so cozy warm and dry at the Hangout and I'd be happy to give your sister a private tour of my etchings .... um, I mean my FRS. :masturboy: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/GT86/GT86-27_zps4997fd88.jpg
  18. Well, Josh (GOT-BUSA) probably has more experience in the standing mile than I do and has motorcycle experience in the Mile, which I don't. He doesn't just run at Wilmington, either. There are two or three others who are members here and have run at Wilmington. Joe (Yarp) comes immediately to mind. I'm happy to help anyone who wants to know more. I have three years' worth of rule books at the Hangout for people to look at. I've loaned the current year's book out twice so far. Anyone is welcome to PM me and to pick my brain. There have been about twenty threads on CR about the Ohio Mile discussing people's experiences participating as well as spectating. As a start, this is a longer one with lots of questions: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102799&highlight=wilmington This is from the last time I competed: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117655&highlight=ohio+mile I think it's a great experience and is cheap and easy to spectate. I personally wouldn't be interested in volunteering because of the time commitment. I've mentioned in another thread that there will be for the first time at Wilmington a HALF-mile event for time slips only, July 11-12. I've also mentioned before that I think it would be great to take a group of CR members down to spectate and cook out. Wagner has gone a few times and has some great photos and stories of the people and machines that race there.
  19. You make it sound like something someone can do on a lark ....... maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Please share what it's going to cost someone to do just what you propose: something like membership + registration for first event + registration for second event just that is $500, isn't it? Plus the time investment of at least 3-4 days, plus fuel and safety mods. I love the Ohio Mile, but I'd advise anyone considering it to do as Kerry advised and read the rules first, then talk with someone who's gone through the experience before deciding to drop the coin to begin the process. I've been there on a weekend where some only got a total of one run in two days because of the weather. Cost them $275 for the honor of going 110 mph, plus it was just one of the required safety runs so they still didn't get to make an attempt at a qualifying run. They don't refund your money just because of rain/wind. They don't refund your money if you can't pass tech.
  20. This time, if you buy it, you need to promise not to .........
  21. I feel bad doing that. I'm not active on your forum, so I don't feel I should log-in after years of inactivity just to sell my stuff. I have enjoyed OR activities as you have a great group of people. If I hadn't gone back to work after retiring, I'm sure I would have made it to some more events.
  22. yep. Contrary to popular belief, domestics are also welcome in the car show. Often times, a domestic takes first place in the show.

  24. Great crowd. Anyone want to estimate the turnout? 200? 300? It makes me wonder if this is going to start to be a problem for Rave and the other businesses along there.
  25. Yep, Mazlow has his own bike now, but back when his mother wouldn't allow him to have a bike, he would borrow mine for a weekend.
