  1. Eman works at Wheel Medic and is on CR. Of course Bryce, the owner, is a sponsor here. I'm not sure if Ronnie is a member, but he'd be happy to help you as well. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/member.php?u=7642 I'd say they know what they're doing with these things. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/caliper2_zpsf961ccb5.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/caliperagainstcar_zps2628ad8e.jpg
  2. We need to get your donations rolling here. Donation rank = pole position and I had planned on just following you for the whole rally.
  3. Those "fancy pants" have deep pockets (I haven't made my personal donation yet). Just sayin'
  4. I only have other people's pics of the car. I've been too busy to get a real photo shoot set up, although some CR folks have been kind enough to offer. The FD's really ARE awesome. Kevin's car is entirely his own work and people who know these cars are quite impressed with the quality of what he's done on his cars and others he works on. The BRZ's have had plenty of thread time on CR. Heck, Draco nearly had to become a moderator as his thread took on a life of its own. And mine flushed out enough haters, and I hadn't even bought one at that point! http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112435 That'll teach you to include a pic of my car in your thread. The wheel/tire choice was the result of listening to the advice of Bryce/Ronnie/Eman all at WheelMedic and the advice and research of Farkas. I just don't have the knack for visualizing wheels on a car or understanding the lowering/brake fitment/offset/size equation. These are great cars from the factory. No, it isn't a Veyron, a Viper, or a Lotus. IMHO it's an attempt to follow in the tradition of the Toyota AE86 (low cost, lightweight, RWD, easy to tune) with some very capable help from Subaru. Part of that tradition is individual modification. Some people (Draco comes to mind) have done a great job with the wheels and body mods. Brooks has made his car a much improved track performer with tire & suspension upgrades. I wanted some more punch in the throttle, so I relied on the advice of Alex L., Patrick (BIGGU), and the folks at Accelerated Performance to make it happen and help me iron out the rough spots. All this brings me back to Kevin and the FD display. It's all him: his vision, his research, his engineering, his wrenching, his testing, his money. You have to be impressed with what he's produced. Mine's just the result of writing checks and asking advice & favors from my friends and vendors from CR. I'm proud of what they've done and enjoy showing off their work. Thanks for the compliments, but I can't take credit for it. (See sig below)
  5. Welcome, Todd. Everyone loves pics, so post a few. For me, though, a friend of Gary's = an automatic +rep I look forward to meeting you at the next event.
  6. Here are a few unprocessed pics I took. They're not nearly as well-done as Carl's, but helps show the variety of what shows up for these events. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Fall%202013%20IFO/DSCN0925_zps78d0fe59.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Fall%202013%20IFO/DSCN0924_zpsdccf5389.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Fall%202013%20IFO/DSCN0923_zps4773ed58.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Fall%202013%20IFO/DSCN0922_zps87332939.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Fall%202013%20IFO/DSCN0921_zpsee81f84e.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Fall%202013%20IFO/DSCN0919_zps418b1aca.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Fall%202013%20IFO/DSCN0917_zpsb1b5cd0c.jpg
  7. I had a blast. It was perfect weather and the rain held off. Kevin (KD93R1) won best Mazda with his sublime RX7. Congrats, Kevin  Shanton and Eric Schmelmer did some impressive times on their bikes. I saw around 30 CR folks, so I'm sure others won some contests also, I'm just not aware of them. When the kickback check comes from the flyer distribution, I'll post it here along with the total for the season.
  8. We saw it at the Sawmill meet. It was pretty dramatic -- I guessed it was lightning.
  9. As you can see, Jordan, there's plenty of room left. I'll watch for them in the mail. Thanks again for the very generous donation.
  10. Thanks to all who have supported the rally with donations. Team Bentley went well over our goal thanks to your generosity. Anyone who donated who still wishes to send me a vinyl sticker for the car, please contact me soon as we will be departing Friday. This year the rally went lightweight with required stickers, and I was thankful for that. Also, they sent some in black which I could not install. A few pics on the dirty car after I got back from NTR: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/bentley%20stickered%204%20fall%20rally/side_zps138c12c0.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/bentley%20stickered%204%20fall%20rally/front_zps04ff15db.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/bentley%20stickered%204%20fall%20rally/rear_zpsed888e66.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/bentley%20stickered%204%20fall%20rally/shield_zpsa25810c1.jpg and last but not least: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/bentley%20stickered%204%20fall%20rally/CRonwindow_zpsd636eea2.jpg
  11. I'll be at Sawmill for sure and have plenty of flyers. I'm difficult to miss as I am the old fat guy with his butt parked in a chair next to a blue GT86FRSBRZFT86.
  12. Packie, which Meijer and how do you test the fuel?
  13. Cordell is a service tech at Byers Mazda, but I imagine he can get your friend the hookup.
  14. My Scion FRS now has the Ecutek Flex Fuel system and so it runs on E85, gasoline, and any mix of the two. The car has a digital gauge for the % Ethanol content that the engine sensor reads. I've kept track of mileage and prices since the system was installed, and I get only two thirds of the mpg when I run E85 (which as I said above, has generally been only 80% ethanol instead of 85% ethanol). With the prices I've been paying, it works out to be slightly more expensive to run E85 than to run 93 octane gasoline. Of course, the car develops more horsepower and torque with E85. In my case, the power increase is about 20%. In the Toledo fuel market, there is less price difference between 93 octane gas and E85. Therefore there's a larger financial disadvantage for using E85. Where Dave (thread OP) buys it at the Speedway at Hall and Galloway, the prices would make the two fuels nearly the same in overall cost for me.
  15. Thanks for the info. Around Delaware and Columbus it runs 78-80. The Kroger at Sancus & Polaris is usually 81-82. Meijer only guarantees it to be higher than 70. Speedway guarantees it to be at least 57! I've been told the winter formulation drops even lower.
  16. The best painters I know are Randy Ball and his father, Richard. High quality and high integrity. I can't speak for their availability. Feel free to mention my referral (they would know me as Doc from Austin Manor). Their work for me has been excellent and the prices reasonable. 740-369-7935 614-648-1431 (cell)
  17. Bump because it's this weekend. A slight chance of thunderstorms is currently forecast for Sunday, but this event is rain or shine. If you need a discount flyer, I'll also have them with me at Sawmill Friday and Saturday nights, and at the CR track day on Saturday and at Cars & Coffee. You can also print them from the link in the first post of this thread. Hope to see you there!
  18. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1726622&postcount=17 With the potluck on, there's no need for me to grill weenies. Enjoy
  19. I saw that as I was pulling out of the lot. My first thought was, "wow, that's a lot of damage for just driving off the grass and dropping over the curb." :dumb: Great turnout. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to introduce yourselves or just to visit. It was good meeting/seeing you all.
  20. It looks like a beautiful day for this. Here's the cost schedule, per their Facebook page: $5 for parking only $10 for parking and car show +$50 for 2WD dyno +$75 for AWD Dyno I think this will be a good time. Come by and say hi. I'll be sitting next to the blue GT86FRSBRZ.
  21. Dry enough for me. I'll be there around 2 p.m. If you head out there today, stop by and say hi.
  22. Although the forecast calls for rain much of the day, the radar as of 7 a.m. makes it appear that Xenia's rain will be over soon, with no current rain west of the band. Anyone at Street Life now with info about what the track conditions are and whether this is still going to be a full event? If it dries out by noon, I'm still thinking of going.
  23. My guest and I had a great time. Thanks to the sponsors and to the organizers. Jason, those cupcakes are just unbelievable!
