  1. Ummmm. That actually is an HKS supercharger, Clay. Not to worry--I've give you the build sheet before you do the formal test drive and review.
  2. Thanks, Rocky. Those really look good. I didn't have any photos since Wheel Medic finished with the wheels. No, Clay hasn't had a chance to borrow it.
  3. Yep, this is the last of these for us this year! Just stop me if you see me at a meet and ask for the flyer. I'll also place a supply at SlowMotion Motorsports in Sunbury and Wheel Medic in Columbus beginning in mid-August. If you'd like a supply of these at your place of business, just PM me and I'll bring you some. Also, you can print a copy of the flyer (black and white is ok) from this link and use it as a coupon: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/ohiofronthalf2013sept_zps65bada53.jpg Besides getting $2 off every spectator admission, Columbus Racing gets $2 for every coupon used at the gate. CR has received $372.00 from the first two events, and I'd like to see this grow to enough to do a free track rental or possibly a party. 4. Some of the fellas will be pissed that I told you, Clay, but I thought it was cruel to try to exclude some of you old guys from the fun.
  5. Sawmill has been ongoing, but at the old Circuit City (by Hobby Lobby) now.
  6. The CR sponsor thread is always a good place to start when you're looking for a vendor: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36577 There's also a thread here called Consumer Reports: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&f=33&page=1&pp=25&sort=lastpost&order=desc&daysprune=365 I can think of a half dozen CR members who work at tire stores, but the person with the most positive reps for helping members is Derek Johnson who manages the Tire Discounters in Reynoldsburg, 8197 E. Broad St., 614-729-6027. He used to manage the NTB downtown.
  7. Carl, stop derailing the discussion with facts.
  8. No one has done it, but since this is the shortest one and nearest (to us) that RNA has staged, it might be a fun one to try. Here are my comments on the topic from an old thread when Ryan H. asked the same question: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1475193&postcount=6 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1475325&postcount=14 I hope that's helpful.
  9. Not a dumb question at all. There are no restrictions on vehicle type, mods, or driver experience. Of course, the vehicle should be registered for street use and drivers need valid drivers' licenses and appropriate insurance. One entrant used a Dune Buggy a few years ago. You'll see classic cars, 'vettes, Mustangs, pickups, smart cars, even rentals. Rally North America runs a well-organized, fun and exciting rally at a cost which is a fraction of the typical national rally. Those of us who have attended these events highly recommend them. This fall's rally is the closest one to central Ohio, the shortest, and the least expensive rally that RNA has offered. There's no better time than now to start rallying. Website: http://www.rallynorthamerica.com/node/13
  10. I just don't have the time and money to keep every vehicle I've ever owned clean, insured, maintained and in regular use. The 999 was a great bike and I have some great memories from riding it. It earned a place on my Wall of Fame: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/plates_zps6e23b5e9.jpg If Jake gets even half the enjoyment out of it that it gave me, he'll feel it was money well-spent.
  11. That's a great job you did on the seat. I think you'll be pleased with it just finishing what you've planned. Tanks can make a big difference but are harder to change out without a bunch of money and/or work. On mine, we decided to leave the stock one but paint it, and I think it came out okay. Let me know when you finish and we'll take both of them to Cars & Coffee. Maybe we'll fuel a café scene revival.
  12. But I bet that if I whistled for it, it would come charging back to the Hangout.
  13. TuneBoy software will tune it as well. The developer was an Australian racer and software guru. I haven't had a Triumph for a few years, but I would look into that if you're interested.
  14. Mine should get finished up late this week or early next. Perhaps you'd like a shot at leaving this old man in the dust ... I'll even let you unload the Traverse and use your famous "drag Blizzacks" if you'd like.
  15. Still have the Jaguar in Florida, or did I miss a transaction? http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110500&highlight=jaguar
  16. Is there a version of this called typing jammer? It would explain a lot of Paul's old posts.
  17. I have an unfair advantage in the 60's trivia category: I was alive during that whole decade.
  18. I had no idea they had moved all those buildings across the country from Los Angeles to Detroit. :lolguy: Watts Riot (1965) in Watts Neighborhood of L.A. Detroit Riot (1967) in Detroit
  19. "If the bankruptcy filing is approved, city assets could be liquidated to satisfy demands for payment." I see a great opportunity here. Combine the sale of the city assets with McDonald's current Monopoly sweepstakes, and lucky customers could literally win the Utilities, Short Line, and Park Place. I know I'd want to up my weekly quota of Quarter Pounders with Cheese in hopes of snagging all the gold-colored properties right before Free Parking. Winners from across the nation would move to Detroit to take possession of their real estate prizes. There'd be an influx of new money, new taxpayers, red hotels popping up everywhere ....... frickin' ingenious. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/mcdonalds-monopoly-2010-menu-mcdonalds_zpse53a2ac6.jpg
  20. You're too old for this sort of thing. You wouldn't be any fun, anyway.
  21. Thanks for the offers, guys. I'm more of an early morning sort, so I'll be sleeping in my own bed Friday night and driving down really early Saturday (weather permitting). Although I have a great time at import meets, I wanted to distance myself from the partying Saturday night, so I avoided the Sparta motels. Florence was probably a good choice, but I opted to drive a few extra miles and stay at the Cincinnatian downtown. I wouldn't mind parking near you guys especially if you have a canopy for shade. Feel free to text me Saturday or Sunday morning at 740-405-5565. I shouldn't be too hard to spot--I think I'll be the only one there with curtains in his car. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/9a_bwc.jpg
