  1. Why not just buy a C5 or a C6? Because anyone can do that. Having the reliability and performance of a C5 in a classic chassis is cool. Looks like a classic, but has all the modern conveniences.
  2. I've been thinking about a C5Z for a while. Nice car, good intro. Welcome
  3. Cool, good information. I do intend to run my car at one of these events. I don't have enough crazy in me to try a top speed run on the highway. Time to start pricing safety gear.
  4. Zeppelin here put a set of Corvette brakes on the front of his. Here is his project thread. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70304&highlight=zeppelin I'm sure he can give you some good information
  5. No, I'm pretty sure it's $200 for the event (Friday thru Sunday).
  6. Yeah, plus $50 for ECTA membership. But that is for an entire weekend of running. I have spent $200 in a weekend and not had as much fun as I think I would running a 1 mile event. Considering its 3 or 5 events per season, and I won't run at every event I don't think the cost is that crazy. Either way I want to support this kind of event as much as I can. Having a 1 mile event in our back yard is great.
  7. I'm not committing to a damn thing till I finish grad school, but the following summer I plan on giving it a try. I will at least go down and watch if not volunteer to help out.
  8. I would keep the rusted and busted look to it, but I would fix any rust and keep it from degrading further. Maintain it as a solid platform for the next owner, or if you decide to customize it later you won't need to do a crap load of rehab. Mechanically good, structurally good, cosmetically ......
  9. Nice, I've always liked the Vegas. +1 on how you're going to keep a belt on it?
  10. And another for Mad Hatter .... they have done 2 of my vehicles and I have been happy both times, probably 4 or 5 cars total for the family and nothing to complain about, not even the price.
  11. I know there are IT folks on the board. I saw this and thought I would pass it along. TRECA, an ITC, has an opening for an IT Infrastructure Engineer. This position will work very closely with the IT Directors and the Chief Technology Officer to provide a high quality of IT infrastructure at TRECA that will support the data and learning needs of our Consortium Schools and Contracted Partners. The IT Infrastructure Engineer will provide IT server/infrastructure support, monitor the server, database, storage, backup and network infrastructure; troubleshoot IT issues; and provide out-of-hours IT support as needed. View a detailed description and apply online at http://www.treca.org. http://www.applitrack.com/treca/onlineapp/jobpostings/view.asp?internaltransferform.Url=&district=All&category=Technology There is a PDF with all the details.
  12. I keep my LT1 because I have already invested in it. Besides, I like to be a little different. Seems like every swinging dick these days has an LS1. And for good reason, it's a better power plant than an LT1, but nobody ever accused me of being smart. $5500 sounds like a decent offer depending on what you mods are, but regardless I doubt you'll get more. So, just to muddy the waters a bit I'll toss out another option. If the chassis is in good condition, keep the car, build an LS1 to swap in. Continue to drive and enjoy the car while building the power train you want. When the time is right do the swap. You're better off with an LS motor, but I'll keep tilting at windmills.
  13. I haven't bought a ring, but I have bought my last jewelry gifts at Sawchucks in Hilliard. Small family owned shop, GREAT service.
  14. I respectfully disagree. Plan on the recruiter looking only at the first page. If it's not important enough to go on the first page it's not important enough to go on your resume. Remember, the only job of the resume is to get the interview. You can go into as much detail as you want in the interview. When a recruiter has 2 or 3 hundred resumes to go through they will not be reading them all in depth, and if it's me I'm not reading the second page. And for the record, I don't have a 2 page resume. Cut the fat and leave the meat that will get you the interview. Give them the information they need and leave the rest out. If you are applying for a job that will be relatively exclusive (high level, only a small number of qualified applicants) then maybe 2 pages if you need that much space to demonstrate your qualifications.
  15. I hadn't seen it. Got a good laugh out of it.
  16. Wow, the turbododge thread was pretty interesting reading.
  17. That's some cool stuff. My favorite site has always been thinkgeek.com There are some overlapping products between the two.
  18. The obvious choice is an LSx with a T56. If not that at least stick with a GM drivetrain.
  19. I'll probably go see most of those, but if I had to pick one it would be Red Tails. I love the war dramas, The Tuskegee Airmen was a great flick to.
  20. Was good seeing everyone this morning. Good turnout for a December Saturday morning.
  21. I thought 3 was okay, but 2 was awful. I thought 2 tried to be some serious hard action flick, and failed. The concept needs the campy scifi to go along with the action. 3 went back to a similar set and formula as the first.
  22. And we have a WINNER! The starter was shorting internally to the block. Disconnecting the starter saw the voltage disappear, reconnect and the voltage comes back. New starter is on order. Thanks guys.
  23. Thanks for the info guys, the shop has been pretty busy the past few days trying to get cars finished up before the winter break. The Camaro is not a high priority right now so it's on the back burner for a couple more days. We'll give all these a try and I'll let everyone know what happens. Thanks again.
