  1. Looks like P&P will do coat them for $65 a piece. So add $130 to the painted ones and you get coated headers. To buy them already coated is $418 total, so you could save some money having them coated locally. It is preferable to have them coated inside and out for durability. Pacesetter only coats on the outside is one of the reasons they can keep costs down.
  2. Pacesetter has a decent rep in the F-body world. From what I have heard the quality is reasonable, and the price is good. I know I would not buy painted headers. The paint will get scratched during installation, and I have never seen a set installed for very long that had not started to rust. Some of them rust badly. I supposed you could use header wrap to disguise the rust, but that's about all you could do. I would get the ceramic coated headers. It is supposed to keep under hood temps down, but I know mine get hot as hell and they are Jet Hot coated headers. I understand trying to save some money, but I believe in doing the job right the first time so it does not have to be done again. You could get the painted ones and have the coated, I'm pretty sure I read on here we have a sponsor that does ceramic coating. Edit: here is the thread http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80502
  3. Yep, and the air marshals love nothing more than dealing with a drunk idiot on a plane. Just let us know what it feels like to get tased. Sounds like no fun at all. Just find someone named Jack and yell at him across the terminal "HI JACK!" and see what happens.
  4. When you said it had twins I thought you meant it had BOOBS! I'm disappointed. J/K nice car. Welcome.
  5. I know at some point I will loose my dog and the thought tears me up. Sorry to hear about your loss.
  6. +1, I just signed up my brother in law who will be running my Impala.
  7. "Also Fits First Generation LT1" has round exhaust ports. We have the D shaped exhaust port. He's probably talking about the old LT-1 motors from the 70s. Is your goal to make max power? Or you just want the car back on the road sounding and running better? I'd probably bite the bullet and get a set of shorty headers that will bolt up to the stock exhaust and be done with it. The cost sucks, but really what choices do you have? Since they all cost in the $500 - $600 range you may as well at least get stainless steal.
  8. Read a story a while back that she was badmouthing everyone involved in the Transformer movies, especially the director. And at the same time was a real bitch to work with. While I agree she is hot, she can't act worth a damn. I'm betting it was the directors choice not to pay her enough to come back. "Megan Fox was the target of an open letter from unnamed 'Transformers' crew members slamming her as thankless, classless, graceless, dumb, trailer trash, and ungracious after she likened director Michael Bay to Hitler in an interview." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/13/megan-fox-branded-dumb-as_n_285005.html
  9. "We will be utilizing the staging lanes on the north side of the track that exit under the tower. Please be courteous and orderly to other drivers. The north side (left two lanes) of the track are for ALL VEHICLES ALL TIRES, including radials, drag radials, and slicks. The south side (right two lanes) are for SLICK TIRE/DOT SLICK/DRAG RADIAL VEHICLES ONLY, including motorcycles ON SLICKS. Bikes and cars have been asked by NTR to refrain from running heads-up for safety reasons. I.E; cars versus cars and bikes versus bikes only."
  10. Probably not a good idea, but since we're brain storming .... put a sump/manhole at the low point of the driveway and use a sump pump to send it elsewhere? The french drain is a better idea (did one a couple years ago) and it works like a charm.
  11. Does anyone know if there is an age restriction to run (ex. 18 and over)? I haven't been able to find anything on NTRs site about it. I had thought if a 17 year old can run that I might tell a few of my cooler students about the event.
  12. Specs? I love my Arsenal AK knock off. Shoots great, has never jammed.
  13. I was one of those guys scratching my head. Looks like a cool event.
  14. Hell, just put a helmet on and go for it as is. Worlds largest go-cart?
  15. I gotta agree with this one. I have always thought that if there is a means of measuring something accurately then why estimate?
  16. I'm not positive we're talking about the same thing, but I have used PCMforless and was very satisfied with the service. I know they will do '93 cars. I used them when we built the 383 to get it up and running. Once the engine was broken in I took it to Dyno Brian, and we did not pick up much (8HP maybe). So PCMforless was pretty close. I will be reflashing the PCM on my Impala in the near future and plan using one of their tune files.
  17. Most state campgrounds are decent, but don't allow drinking. Depends on what you like to do while camping. If you're looking to get a little party on then I recommend private campgrounds since the rules are a little more loose. Some areas have visitors centers where all the local businesses can advertise, that's a good way of finding out what is available in the area. Also ask the folks running the campground or the people camping around you.
  18. I'm also unsure about the trans. I can't think of anything that would be damaged. However, I did hear a story a while back the the Nascar crew chiefs were pissed when their driver would lug the engine by driving slow in too high a gear. Since the oil pump is run by the RPM of the motor you are stressing the motor while providing less oil pressure than normal.
  19. I'm still trying to figure out if that is real or not.
  20. Forwarded to a mechanic friend with 6 kids.
  21. I'm in regardless, but one lane for the whole day is fine by me. In this crowd I'm racing the clock anyhow.
