  1. Good gawd, vote that bullshit down. Cbus taxes are already full-on taterriffic.
  2. Always enjoyed reading his stuff. RIP

    GT350 LOL

Independent rear suspension mustang was too much for her to handle, should have left traction control on
  4. BRB, tracking my 1 of 1 260hp $130k 993. Porsches as image statements are LOL (thanks janis joplin), Porsches as race cars are not LOL. And they often have the typical over-modded woes when selling too.
  5. I'd probably be more excited if I wouldn't have to cut down all my nearby trees to get decent sunlight, but NOPE! Maybe out in the country or somewhere with more room that had better exposure. My dad was doing pretty well with his solar for awhile but the power company did something? and now he doesn't get anywhere near the credit he used to. The amount of fucking around he had to do with permits and inspections and such was pretty ridiculous, even having a contractor do the install.
  6. A colder thermostat will make your car warm up SLOWER, FYI. When your coolant hits 160 (or whatever temp) and begins to open, it is going to slow your oil temp coming up (which is more important). When I put a 160 thermostat in my z28 it took at least a few minutes more to see oil come up to normal operating temp, but it was worth the slight performance increase.
  7. Storytime. I had 1.8 acres to mow once. I looked into fancy mowers, then used fancy mowers, and eventually settled on a barely-functional 1980s john deere 46"? I bought on CL for $200. Spent $25 rigging up a fuel pump, and had to charge the battery every 2 weeks, but I mowed with that little pile of shit without any problems for 3 years. Sold it for $300 when I sold the house and never looked back. It would mow in high gear at WOT too, never could really do the 1.8 acres in much under 40 minutes but it was an easy yard. If it had to do it again I would have bought a decent tractor for $3k and a bush hog for a few hundred and been done in 20 minutes with a rough-cut who-gives-a-fuck yard. Can do tons of useful stuff with a tractor too.
  8. If you're not well experienced in home construction and repair I strongly urge you to have a good, thorough home inspection done. In my limited experience the radon thing is a scam, but if there IS NOT a system in place now expect to spend the couple grand to put one in before being able to sell, or make a price accommodation for one. Seems like realtors are crazy for those things recently.
  9. Looks like it's in pretty nice original condition, except for a few suspect mechanicals. Careful, I worked on a 70s civic ONCE and I swear every damn thing under the hood was razor sharp, honed to a samurai-katana-ninja edge. I've heard from others isn't uncommon on older civics.
  10. IN! Any openings this saturday?

Because murica. Oh wait, no. I mean, yeah. Let me flip on TMZ to see what Will Smith is doing first, then I'll decide
  12. He was one of the last people to leave C&C, watched him go. Very easily could have been any of us.
  13. Was he at C&C saturday? Saw a few bikes there. News reads like a car turned in front of him? Charge them with manslaughter and throw em in jail RIP
  14. Been there done that. You're not trying hard enough if you're not probing your limits every now and again. Next time try bikes- they're a fuckton cheaper to fix when you push too far and can't save it. Would not put one of my nice-ish expensive cars on the track without insurance. Shit happens and it's not always your fault. Glad you're okay, seem to be handling it well. How fast you run?
  15. Perhaps some local up-and-comer can ferry my M3 trackside so I can attempt to spin a rod bearing. Need to wreck these tires before winters go on anyway
  16. You're making great progress, cool project for sure. Don't love the auto trans
  17. Looks like the black tip on the other end of the hammer. Maybe it comes off there to make it easier to manipulate?
  18. If you can find parts for the kit you want, do that first. It sucks to build something only to not be satisfied with it and start another build in a different direction. If you can't find the parts to build exactly what you want, you can't go wrong with a basic kit from PSA. They aren't great but work fine, can resell easily, and will hold you over until you make a decision. The latest cool-guy stuff is trending towards a long rail 12"+ so if you want maximum cool guy points start there. A2 front sight blocks can be a real pain to remove, fuck that.
  19. Will be there in the 911 to say goodbye to this almost-free local track and take some memorial photos. RIP CMS, cowlumbus is soon speedway-less It's a good thing we're getting more soccer practice fields though. I can't stand when I have to drive an hour for soccer practice :dumb:
  20. Tried AM workouts and wasn't able to do the weight I was used to, didn't have a lot of energy, and went back to evenings. Long morning walks or casual running I can do just fine though.
  21. I wouldn't pay $3k for any early mini. One of my family friends bought a new cooper S, first model year, and it's been the biggest pile of shit I've ever seen for a new car. Rattles everywhere before it even hit 30k miles, horrible ride, nonstop electrical problems, stupid expensive parts for everything. OMG IMS OMG 996 has been more reliable with double the mileage and much harder use than his LOL cooper S. If someone GAVE me any new mini in any condition it would go on craigslist for "BEST OFFER TODAY TAKES IT" they are that bad. And I'm someone that only buys german cars with potentially catastrophic failures, for fucks sake. NO!
  22. +1. total absolute shit, if you HAVE to have it working get a new one. If you don't mind fucking around, doing the job 3x and saving some money- reman
  23. Looking forward to details about your diminished value claim, I don't know anyone that pulled that off. Doesn't sound like a good keeper anymore, sell now for market value then sue insurance for difference between sale price and non-damaged market value?
  24. Hope it's too weak to cycle the action, and you catch it before tactical-ninja tap rack bang kicks in. I've had quite a few .22LR that sounded suspiciously weak and didn't cycle, but never had one actually lodge in the bore. That I remember. Maybe.
