  1. She brought up again that her lawyers, yes, plural, had advised she sure me directly and that he husband didn't want to do that as he doesn't believe in suing neighbors. And, yet again, I told her to do what she needed to do. If only you all could have been there for the entire duration of the conversation. She said my car is a nuisance because I have a glass pack on it, (which I don't; I laughed at her and asked if she knew what a glass pack was), she said I have had my car running up to 6hrs at a time, she told me I have no integrity because I know I am violating HOA rules and I am taking advantage of my ability to do so because our HOA doesn't do anything, etc, etc, etc. I also laughed at her and said my car doesn't hold enough fuel to run for 6hrs straight. She said, "yes it does, and I have heard you run it for 3hrs at a time as well." Ha ha ha. This has NEVER happened. FACT: The guy right next door to me, Randy, had a late 80's t-top camaro (forgive me f-body guys, I don't know american muscle too well), that is WAY louder than mine. FACT: Randy also works on other peoples cars both in his garage, AND in the street. FACT: Randy did the brakes on a truck that was not his, in his garage, with the garage door open because the truck was too long to fit all the way in his garage, and he borrow my jack to boot! In fact, she was walking out of her door and across the street as Randy was walking from my driveway to his pulling the jack along! But noooo, she doesn't b*tch at Randy; in fact she tries to get Randy and his wife to help her make a case against me. Ridiculousness.
  2. This lady...is nuts. On Saturday afternoon there is a knock on the door.... Now before I get into this, let me say, as most of you know from my other thread, my car hasn't ran in WEEKS due to it having been totaled, (which she is not aware of.) Here is a copy of an e-mail I sent to my dad immediately after the encounter was over; (I have an e-mail string documenting every encounter we have had.) "The lady across the street came over at approximately 12:55p this afternoon and knocked on my door. She proceeded to tell me she had gotten nowhere with litigation with the HOA. She wanted to discuss my car (which hasn't ran, or left the garage in weeks). I told her again if she had an issue to take it up with the HOA or the law. She said she had already taken it up with the HOA and our HOA does nothing. She then proceeded to say she wanted to work out a time as to when I ran my car. "Maybe 30min on saturday and 30min on sunday." I stated that no one is going to dictate to me when I run my own vehicle, especially when it's not against HOA rules, not against the law, and only a couple times a year after 9pm. I also informed her that i find her filming and taking pictures of me, my wife, and my child to be threatening behavior and I advised he to not do it again. She stated she can film whoever she wants whenever she wants." What she doesn't know, is that I have 2min of video/audio from our encounter on Saturday; further documenting her harassment of me. Now, if someone were to watch the vid, not knowing the history of this situation, I will admit I probably look like a d-bag. I didn't yell or use any profanity, but I was rather animated in my interaction which I feel is reasonable considering the fact that she is the cause of incalculable amounts of time and stress. I am going to be looking into TX law in regards to restraining orders.
  3. I have heard horror stories about people misidentifying mushrooms and dying pretty nasty deaths. Is that just the media blowing it out of proportion? Honestly, I eat pretty much everything, I but that is one thing I think I even I would be too scared to trust myself with...eating wild mushrooms.
  4. I have to partially agree. I would revise it to all DSM's over 450awhp (or in Phil's case, fwhp) need AAA. The ones I have seen personally in the 300-450 range that are properly put together make for some pretty stout DD's.
  5. Looking for suggestions from fellow truck owners/tire guys. I will be looking into getting new tires for the truck sometime in the near future. The size on there now is is 275/65 R18. I don't do a lot of off-roading, if any, and obviously I live in TX so snow/ice is minimal. Would like some decent traction when it rains though as when it does rain here, it really rains. I put about 20,000mi a year on the truck so something with longer lasting tread would be nice. Suggestions?
  6. Yeah, I kind of had that conversation with the adjuster working my case. I told him what was about to ensue was not personal, as I knew he had a job to do, but I also have to look out for my interest. I could tell they weren't really prepared for someone like me though. I never once gave them a dollar figure I needed. I let them come up with the monetary amounts, I simply contested their evaluation of my vehicle condition and called them out for not following their own rules on the comparables they submitted. Like you said, they are used to hearing bitching, but I am guessing most people can't justify WHY their car's value is higher than what the ins co rates it at. I have a folder full of documentation from this case, and an even thicker one from the last time this happened. The funny thing about all this was, my adjuster, John, had told me there was nothing more they could do on upping the value of the vehicle based on condition, and that if I bumped it up the ladder, the specialist would just review it and say they did there jobs correctly the first time. That was when the offer was like $4k. So when I ended up getting it up to $7800 with the specialist and her supervisor, and everything was agreed upon, I was given back to John to finalize the details such as bringing them a copy of the title, and when/where to pick up my check, and he congratulated me on getting the value increased but he had kind of a sheepish chuckle like he was a little bit embarrassed that I got it up to $7800 after he told me there was no way it was going to be rated higher than $4k. It was a fun experience negotiating.
  7. You haven't seen this OH car :gabe:
  8. Finally got my TX title in the mail yesterday. I went to the local ins office today and gave them a copy of the title, they gave me my check, case closed. Now on to the long task of stripping this thing to the bones before I come up to OH to get her replacement.
  9. Here is a recent thread from dsmtuners where a guy did a write up on wrapping his car. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/appearance-interior-exterior/460060-full-3m-1080-vinyl-wrap-pic-heavy.html
  10. If I lived in OH I would hit you up. I haven't had fresh caught fish (mountain stream caught trout from PA) in 2 years. Its been even longer for walleye, perch, and bluegill.
  11. How many different shops have you taken it to for repair/replacement estimates?
  12. Guess that would depend on which society you are referring to. Technology advancement is a double edged sword. Just because it "benefits" the society you live in does not mean that it has the same affect on a different society. I am sure all the families of innocent people killed by drones in the middle east would disagree that drone technology has "benefited" their society.
  13. Dyno Queen is definitely better than jackstand queen. Though I have spent more time as the latter than the former seeing as how I have never had my car on the dyno.
  14. Keep 'em coming. Love birds of prey.
  15. I was just having this convo last week I think... DSM, RX-7, Supra, 3000gt, 300zx...those were the days right there.
  16. Sorry man, can't do it. I would be spending way more on it than on a DSM and be half as fast. Some may bring up that the vette would give me more life points than the DSM...to that I say, I am doing just fine on life points, so I will have to pass. If I were to do a V8 instead of DSM, it would be along these lines: http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/cto/3605416347.html http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/cto/3678453018.html http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/3639046225.html http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/3628612486.html

    Walking Dead

Carl is a POS. If I am Rick, I would beat his little ass for talking to me the way he does. As for mini-Shane without the craziness? Carl is very quickly being the kind of person that doesn't analyze the situation and act accordingly. He just shot that kid because he could. Hershel on the other hand...that's a good guy. My favorite character by far.
  19. Close. Buy back totaled car for $450. Spend half of check on new DSM that currently runs 12.6 and is a dd. Put my goodies from old car into it and do something else special to it with some of the extra money. Beat the sh*t out of every evo on the streets of DFW. Profit.
  20. Jokes on her because I got $7768 for a 91 DSM and I am picking up another one in two months.
  21. I certainly have one. Thing is, I was always courteous enough to close the garage door whenever it was running and/or I was using air tools.
  22. Haven't seen her or anyone else suspicious since last referenced in this thread. Since my car got totaled, I haven't been driving it, or doing much in the garage at all for that matter.
