  1. I love the coupe, and the G37 coupe is very hot. It has always been described (amongst the Nissan community) as being the 350Z in a tux. The VQ is a solid motor, even if not the most mind-bending in the power department. I've only ever ridden in a turbocharged one... so I can't offer any opinions on power/driving feel. If you're looking for a great DD with decent power, I'd definitely go for it. There is plenty of aftermarket support if you want/need it as well.
  2. Nice. I changed the wheels on my old DD ('95 LS) from base LS to GS-R and it made the car look so much better. Wheel (and usually suspension) changes can transform a car's image so much.
  3. That's pretty cool. Here's another swap I'd love to try some day: http://www.datsuns.com/red/index.htm http://www.datsuns.com/projects/510-TwinTurbo/engine/5-18-04.jpg
  4. Those guys on HybridZ do all kind of crazy things. My next project (when money and space allows it) will be a 240Z with an RB26 in it.
  5. That's a whole lot of stupid right there.
  6. I've definitely seen some ridiculous crap on VW Vortex, but also some really nice work. The one thing I've noticed a lot of since getting into the VW crowd is a real attraction to running wheels too wide for the tires, and all together too wide for the vehicle. Skinny wheels + bad offset = fail in my book. There are some really nice and unique ones out there too though... http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e391/tchristemac/mk4s/antroll4.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g75/moacur/10-14-3.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b328/vdubtornado/Dubfest%2007/kevinrolling.jpg
  7. It was a good episode. It was the CTS-V, ZR1 and the Challenger SRT8. They drove on some highways, twisties and then the salt flats to see who could hit 170mph. I believe Jeremy did with the ZR1... missed if the other two did or not, although Hammond in the SRT8 wasn't even touching 160mph most of the time. I'm not a huge Corvette guy... but god damn is that ZR1 a fun car to watch and listen to. 0-60 in 3 seconds flat makes the hair on the back of my neck tingle.
  8. Ditto. Once it gets nice... it's on. Even if we have to only take pics of her good side. Thanks. I found that the blue tape flames helped me in the corners. Later there was an additional tape job done on the front.... Surprisingly it didn't jinx me either. http://www.flux21.com/z/autox/DSC05637.JPG
  9. Awesome. I was hoping for this.
  10. Awesome. I wondered who would be the first to remix that.
  11. It definitely is a nice change, but honestly they are both a lot of fun to drive. The GLI's instant-spool and lower power make it easier to drive fast verses the Z; when I hit full boost I'm already past the point of speeding and have to dial it back. It's not just the speed difference, but the all-around differences between the two cars that makes them both great. Both cars are so drastically different that they almost compliment each other perfectly; kind of picking up where the other one has flaws. Although both suck in the front end clearance department.
  12. Thanks Chris. Bumped only because I (jump) started her for the first time since fall, and went for a drive yesterday. God how nice that is after not driving a fast car since Oct/Nov. As usual, the time away driving a 180hp FF car make the transition so much better. Not quite the perma-grin I had after the TT conversion, but still pretty awesome.
  13. One of the must-watch (repeatedly) classics, no doubt.
  14. Thanks. It takes some getting used to; there are things about the way it sits that don't make me 100% happy... but the next evolution of the body ('99 fascia and possibly '90-93 stock win) could change things. It was more a function > form during the TT swap, and you know... to save money.
  15. While I'm killing time waiting for a friend to show up... thought I would make a mini picture whoring thread for fun. These some of the more recent pictures from the 8+ years we've spent together. 16. Damn good photography - that first pic is just awesome.
  17. Meh. http://www.flux21.com/UPLOAD/moving/26ec05a2634042a2bb2515dca2a04fc0bbb8d8a0_m.gif
  18. This is a great book. +rep for posting it.
  19. Definitely know how you feel. Last year around this time I had two cars with rust on them, needing various new parts and body work, and neither one made me feel too good while driving them.
  20. "Good enough" and "11.50 @ 118" in the same sentence definitely warrants positive rep. Welcome to the party.
  21. 335i/328i.... very hot. I love the back end of that car especially.
