  2. I would have a hard time putting so much time and money into a car and walking. LS
  3. Do you like this ticket because these two people are polar opposites?
  4. I had an extra manual transmission setup from an E39 I parted out (still have everything other than the trans) and I had my eye out for an E38 with a blown transmission on the cheap I could manual swap. Too many projects not enough time unfortunately.
  5. Not yet. Still in the process of moving. If I keep my LS M3 I definitely plan on doing some track days.
  6. If you could stretch your budget, I'll have a V8 swapped 1991 318is for sale shortly. Doesn't fit your 60s/70s criteria, but does look like a german fox body in my opinion. They definitely aren't dropping in price.
  7. Absolutely gorgeous. Hope to see it driving around Denver!
  8. Honestly I would keep looking. For whatever reason BMW (5x120) wheels are CHEAP when used. You will be able to find a set of BBS 19 or 20 for $700 or reps for $400 with tires.
  9. Does anyone know why they have it come in on an angle instead of straight down? I am sure they have a reason, but it seems much more challenging.

    F-ing Tinder

I'm not far, but will require the GT-R or Raptor as payment.
  11. Invested his money into a chance? Saw an opportunity and took advantage of it? I don't know? He very well may not find a buyer. He may blow the motor while getting groceries. If it wasn't for paying taxes every time I bought a car I would flip a lot more than I do. Most people do an awful job with listings (not saying this was the case with this car), but the difference between what a car can fetch between DSLR photos in front of a nice house with a lengthy description and filtered iPhone photos at a walmart is huge.
  12. I see nothing wrong with this. Car was for sale for a long time, two parties came to a mutual deal, who cares if he lists it for 10X or lights it on fire? I have a buddy who used to make a killing buying old diesel Mercedes station wagons. Would pay the persons asking price and had a list of buyers on the back end who would pay 3-4X what he bought them for.
  13. I don't dislike 318tis as much as most, but it is definitely not the performance that is keeping people away. Try again on E30M3 pricing. Original motor cars are getting $45+ and S52 swapped cars are getting 35+ if they are straight and half way decent. Look at what this abortion brought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-BMW-M3-/201546477449?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2eed1b2f89%3Ag%3AeFYAAOSwu1VW8IcF&item=201546477449&nma=true&si=gd1tZaXhtsBvKyZUeTByO%252B95gHY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 And agreed - friendly chat.
  14. I met a 25+ year BMW car salesman one day and immediately had one question for him. What was the hardest car you ever had to sell. 318ti E30 M3s have gotten crazy in price. For the average Joe that can't afford 10 sports cars who doesn't want to deal with the chance of a blown motor that will cost you $10k+? LS it - double the power - and have actual reliability. Win Win Win.
  15. Agree on Clay's car - looks beautiful and the M42 is a great motor. Many people prefer them to their 6 cylindered cousins for the redline alone. Other than that I do not agree with you. I have not driven an E30 M3 vert as there were 750 or so made and none for the US as you mentioned, but the consensus is that E30 convertibles are awful. A lot of improvements were made for the vert E36, but if you have only driven a E30 M3 vert I do not think you have a fair judgement of an E30 M3. As for the power problem, thats nothing an LS can't fix.
  16. Comparing an E30 M3 to an E36 vert? If it was anyone else I would be surprised...
  17. I've been looking at these again because I am selling mine. It's funny every. single. one. I see for sale has the caution triangle light up for some little quirk. It was a good day when I finally fixed all of mine. http://images.autotrader.com/scaler/544/408/hn/129da1f59fe8495b8928b526ecb8528d.jpg
  18. Now buy a roll of carbon and spend an evening never looking at wood grain again.
  19. Every commercial/business insurance policy sees the option, at least with my firm. You may think it's crazy but it's a reality. To be considered a terrorist attack the pres/governor has to declare it a terrorist attack. Similar how Chrostie 'determined' Sandy a 'super storm' so everyone's insurance covered it because they didn't cover hurricanes.
  20. Because he specifically chose not to buy terrorism insurance?
  21. Terrorism insurance has been around since 9/12/2001. Very very inexpensive to buy and the majority of people opt out of it.
  22. I got my V8 E30 running last fall as a proof of concept. The wiring was way too long, power steering not hooked up, the oil filter housing sat so high the hood wouldn't close, vacuum lines everywhere, the 4.10 rear and was WAY too much for the transmission (already replaced with a 2.93 LSD), ETC. Here is what it looked like its first trip on the road :lolguy: Starting to clean everything up now. Wiring is routed behind the firewall now, pulling the motor to clean it up, re routed the oil filter out of the way, redoing all the brake lines while the motor is out - also doing the coilovers and BBK while the brake lines are being redone. Here is a pic of the oil filter housing relocation: Car is cleaning up nicely though. The next owner should be very happy with it.
  23. I almost bought one in Cleveland. 80k miles, 2006 (more hp than the 04/05), carbon package, 0 accident, $18k. Service isn't ideal. Brakes and such are $$$, but they are generally reliable.
  24. Another option that is big enough and done losing money is the 04-06 Cayenne Turbo. 450-500 hp and chipable. You can even get them with a hitch.

    Apple Vs. FBI

I heard a different version of what the FBI wanted to do: The FBI is not asking for a back door into every iPhone. They told the FBI they would give them the phone to keep and destroy (or do whatever they want with) after giving them the data they are looking for. This is a far cry from a script that gets into every iPhone they want. Two parts on this: A apple has done this for them on several cases, but for some reason they will not on this one B apple does this for China on a major scale. Not saying all of this is true, but I heard it from an FBI director on a podcast.
