  1. For something on a budget, Mueller actually makes a decent scope. I bought one of these for my AR15 and it works really well. The glass isn't quite as clear as my Nikon, but for sunny days at the range and at half the price, it's a good value. It's tough to find options with the 30mm tube in this price range. http://www.opticsplanet.net/mueller-optics-4-5-14x-40mm-ao-all-purpose-tactical-riflescope.html
  2. I'd go with a 16" barrel so you can take the muzzle brake off if you need to.
  3. +1 on Adco. They will do it right ad it should be around $30 or $40 from them if their prices haven't changed.
  4. The CAI configuration looks much better than the homemade job, IMO, and that plastic foregrip on the homemade rifle is a tough piece to find anyway. If the CAI works well, leave it alone and enjoy! The plastic cheek piece on yours is really a nice feature. On the Norinco, you place your cheek right on the dust cover which really isn't comforting. I've seen dustcovers blown off of AKMs before and you certainly wouldn't want your face there! Have you shot it one handed, yet? Because most of the weight is behind your grip, it's not too difficult to just pull the rifle into your shoulder and shoot with just your right hand.
  5. Nikon Monarch or Buckmaster series scope are very nice.
  6. Looks like a "bubba" attempt at making a Norinco 86S http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/86S/IMG_2402.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/86S/IMG_2000.jpg
  7. The 5.45x39 is a very nice cartridge. Fairly accurate and very little recoil.

    Zombie Slayer

What's with all the Zombie merchandise these days? Engraved AR15 dust covers, crazy graphics, ammo, etc.
  9. I saw one for sale this week for $1500.
  10. You got that right. They are big, heavy battle rifles. You should feel how heavy they are with the metal bipod, Trilux SUIT, and a fully loaded 30 round magazine! Good thing it has a carry handle...lol. Stg58 with Israeli Trilux SUIT http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/stg58/IMG_2300.jpg
  11. Another vote for BF3. I also like MW3, but BF3 is a different kind of game. The vehicles add a whole new aspect, too. And then there's the sound effects - much better than MW3.
  12. I thought the PS90 mags were 50 rounders. Do they make 30 round PS90 mags for Ohio's stupid restriction?
  13. There are a couple of vendors there that have pretty good prices on sealed cans of military surplus ammo but it's no different than any other gun show in Ohio. Lot's of overpriced items with a few deals to be had if you know what you are looking for and are willing to haggle.

    AR15 Pistol

This is the way to go!
  19. Lots of times. It's simple. Box it safely and securely, write on the outside of the package: ORM-D Cartridges, small arms Then you MUST take it to the main UPS hub. The satellite UPS Stores will not take it at all. The shipping cost is based on weight, and the box dimensions. You can enter this information online at the UPS site and find out exactly how much the shipping will be. There is no extra fee for ammo. It is illegal to ship ammo via USPS. I never ship FedEx so I don't know the details.
  20. I'm not sure what your budget is, or if you want something a little unusual, but I've got an Armalite AR180 (SA version of AR-18) from the early 70's that I'm thinking about parting with. It's a Eugene Stoner design from 1963 and has some interesting features: short stroke piston type gas system (rather than direct impingement) - bolt and carrier stay cleaner and cooler hard chrome bolt fabricated steel receiver - simple and strong dual springs & guide rods for the bolt carrier unusual quick-release scope mount system with a 4x20 optic side-folding stock that latches in the folded position http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/AR180/th_IMG_2304.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/AR180/th_IMG_2303.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/AR180/th_IMG_2307.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/AR180/th_IMG_2306.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/AR180/th_IMG_2305.jpg
  21. Too bad he completely left out the top 3 factory built, preban AK rifles: Israeli Galil Finnish Valmet Chinese PolyTech Legend Galil 329 http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/Galil_329/IMG_3643.jpg Valmet M76 http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/Valmet_M76/IMG_2864.jpg PolyTech Legend AK-47S http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/AK_47S/IMG_2967.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/AK_47S/IMG_3004.jpg The Legend rifles have to be the nicest preban AK rifles when it comes to fit and finish... http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/AK_47S/IMG_2993.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/AK_47S/IMG_3003.jpg
  22. You are correct if "select people" means law abiding citizens with a CCW permit.
  23. +1 Why don't people, including the OP, understand this?
  24. They are handy and would be easy to carry around. This is the Norinco Type 86, which is a Chinese made AKM. It's chambered for the 7.62x39 round and uses standard AK mags. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/86S/IMG_2000.jpg
  25. Very well built Kalashnikov rifle chambered for the 7.62 NATO cartridge. AK reliability, accurate enough, powerful cartridge with a huge variety of bullet types, compact side folding stock, easy to carry with sling (not pictured), flip up night sights, accepts a wide variety of optics with a quick release lever mount (also not pictured), adjustable gas system, muzzle brake that doubles as a grenade launcher...what more could you need? http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k239/jjjxlr8/Firearms/Galil_329/IMG_3643.jpg
