Fair enough, I was just trying to see where it would go. The first one I have no opinion on except people are bad, guns are not. As for the second, I know how the social security system works. That being said, I see welfare as a lost cause now, so I would rather see my tax dollars go to someone who earned it than someone popping out more babies trying to make more money without doing anything.

Sorry to hear y'all split up. I have a round iron coffee table with matching end tables, the coffee table needs a glass top. If you buy the end tables the coffee table goes free if you want it. Also (not sure if it helps) I have a middle of the road (quality wise) futon frame that has hardly been used, we just dont have the matress for it anymore. It depends on how clean of a look your going for and how long you want it to last. If it were me (and it were not a daily as I'm assuming this isn't your daily) I would drop the tank and weld the sheet metal in and paint everything. Just my $.02

What kind of sheet metal are you looking to use? May want to think about rust proofing. Also i would either bolt it in with some silicone like you said or remove the gas tank to weld (if its close to where it needs welding). I might just be paranoid, but welding too close to a gas tank would make me nervous (though I have heard some stories from crazy old-timers about welding holes in gas tanks while a buddy continues to pump gas into the tank to keep it full [thus no explosive vapors]).

This project is coming along quickly! I have to ask though, why not just drill a hole all the way through the nut and the shaft and use a cotter pin? The way you have done it looks like it will hold with no problems, I just wouldn't have thought about doing it that way myself.

I figured painting it would be a slim chance, and I knew painting it would effect the resale value but I didnt know resale would take such a big hit even with a quality paintjob. And snowflake, I agree with you, i just wasn't sure how long he was willing to wait for the exact match for his criteria.

I know I will probably be drug over the coals for this one, but have you thought about getting the car you want minus the color and just having it painted?
