Bump. Wife is bugging the shit out of me so first offer over scrap value gets it. Or does anyone know a scrap yard that goes by weight instead of type of vehicle (I tried calling recyclers, but they gave me a stupid low number)? Also I figured out that the alternator is bad (overcharging) and is likely the cause of the sputtering (I would be glad to put one on for a buyer).

What's up with the battery wiring, it looks like the positive and negative tie together at the metal thing on the frame.

The stronger T2 rear end still only holds up to about 500hp (not sure what kind of torque numbers it would hold up to, likely similar numbers though), so if he is planning on getting beyond that and wants to hook, then it would probably be a good idea.

I knew 2 people with expeditions (one with a 98, the other with a 99) that both had pretty major problems. The 98 (5.4) popped a head gasket at 98k (driven easily ~3 miles a day) and the other (4.6) the trans took a shit at 110k. Also they drive like a bus, and have a very disconnected feel to the steering (overpowered). Personally I would not recommend an expedition. How about a Durango, or a 4 runner? Both have plenty of room (3rd row seating). I know the Durango's aren't known for strong tranny's, but I think they got better after a couple years.

Your right, I overlooked the fact that there is no proof anywhere that his car makes any kind of power right now.

He is talking about having the highest HP lambo in the world with 2k HP to the wheels. I've heard that UGR has a 2k HP lambo, but is that at the crank?

If everything is on the up and up, there is still probably a reason they chose that car for this, though you could still flip it for a profit. I don't think you would be hurting yourself to wait for the car (if you can), you could always get more for it on a trade for something else. Edit: hell, it would be funny to walk in the day you could pick it up and tell them you want to trade it in towards something better and the car would never leave their lot.

If they are making 502 to the wheel with a little head work and a "small" cam, I would be willing to bet this is a rather low estimate by the time you get some better heads, the "big" cam and some other bolt ons. I think there will be some room to grow once the aftermarket expands for this car.

It doesn't seem like a big difference, I wouldn't think it would hurt anything (especially since they are not the drive tires).

If your seriously interested in swapping a car, its not as bad as you think, there are a bunch of options on engine cradles (mostly for lsx motors) and the transmissions (though in most cases a little fabrication is still needed, like mounting the radiator for example). Check out http://www.norotors.com, they have mostly rx-7's but have other swapped cars as well (a couple rx-8's and I think I saw a bmw on there that someone was ls swapping once).

Any chance of this making it to sawmill? I'd really like to see it in person. If this car hits the numbers your looking for, its gonna hurt some feelings for sure.

I have a light weight flywheel for a fwd 2g. I believe it may be a fidanza, but I'm not 100% sure. It would need a new friction surface, but its yours if you want it.

Sacrificing a n/a mkIV for a lsx swap wouldn't break my heart. This car doesn't look like the cleanest swap to me with shit in the engine bay looking like it was just thrown in there. And those gauges... They could have at least done a better job shrouding the radiator and cleaned up the bay a little. It would be a fun car, but I don't think its worth 30k either.

How about a Chevrolet firetta? Or a 1983 Corvette? I would only want either one of these cars for how rare they are.

My wife drives an 01 durango. Very comfortable truck, 3rd row seats (back two rows fold flat), handles well for a large suv. Ours has the 4.7 v8. Great motor although a little anemic for how I like to drive. I know you wouldn't be looking at a durango as old as mine, but I believe the drivetrains carried over into the second gen durango (05-?). So the things I know about the drivetrain... Ours has a CAI, bumped our mpg from 12 to 14 city, valve cover gaskets are a bitch to replace and they will leak at some point, and as always with dodge, careful of the tranny's. I don't know if any of the newer ones are better than the older ones, but it seems we got a good one (122k and still drives perfect). I can't say much about other full sized suv's as I've never owned another full size suv, so that's my input.

I hate how there are so many defending the motorcyclists actions. Put those people in the same situation as the people in the RR and see how they react. I've read in a couple of different places that it could have been talked out had he not taken off, but if I were him and surrounded by bikes with a few people walking towards me, I wouldn't think they were looking to talk either.
