If it's a factory paint job in a non metallic color it had no clear. The later models did but not the MKIII's. Every red and yellow MKIII I've owned would all leave color when waxed.

That color is single stage also (no clear coat) so if it's not faded it will and you'll need to wax it constantly to keep it shiny. 2.0's are bullet proof. They are cheap to fix and cheap to find if something does go wrong with it.

Rust. Check the pinch welds and the rest of the under body. They tend to start rusting around the rubber plugs in the floor pan under the front seats. There isn't a timing belt. It's a timing chain. Pretty big job. You have to drop the trans to do it.

I had similar doubts before I bought my SR9c. I've put over 1000 rounds through it and so far it's performed flawlessly. I'm sure it didn't win the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence handgun of the year three years in a row on accident. I would say they got this one right.
