  1. Historically it has run really good for a while but after an hour or so it slowly dies and won’t run again for a day or so. I’ve replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors, adjustable furl pressure regulator, O2 sensor, fan sensor, ecm fan sensor, coolant temp sensor, ECM, MAF (I think), coil, wires and the entire distributor including the ignition module. I’m just really stumped and frustrated. Electrical certainty isn’t my forte and that’s probably where it is. Thanks
  2. It’s an 89 so the the computer is the old plug in the key and count the flashes. The check engine light isn’t on but when I check, it flashes code 12 which is ok and code 34 which is MAF or MAP. But the light is not on. My car doesn’t have a MAP sensor. I have another MAF somewhere in my parts bins but I don’t think it’s that unless it’s a new issue. Last week was the first time I’ve had it out this year and it won’t run without part throttle. I adjusted the adjustable fuel pressure regulator and it sort of idles but still runs like garbage. I need a fuel pressure gauge to go much farther.
  3. Buck and Greg thank you. I went to the junk yards for research and I saw some other GM cars with the same “goey” connection. I thought it got hot enough it melted and was like that but I guess not. I’m still not sure what it does but at least it probably isn’t my issue. Still can’t figure out why it will barely run.
  4. I need some help with something I just found. My car is a 1989 Firebird Formula with the 350 TPI motor. It’s had an issue for the last few years where after it runs for a while it shuts down and won’t restart until it’s cooled off for at least a day. I’ve replaced most of the fuel and ignition parts. I just got it out of storage and saw what looks like a very burnt connection. It’s back near the firewall on the passenger side. One part has a black, dark green and light green wire. The other only has a black and dark green. Anyone know what this connection is and if there should be 3 wires on both sides? I’m hoping this has been the issue but not sure why it would do it. Thanks. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1007&pictureid=9407 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1007&pictureid=9408 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1007&pictureid=9410 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1007&pictureid=9411 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1007&pictureid=9412

    CR decals

Tina, I will take one and I am not on FB. Thanks.
  7. My 99 Acura TL said premium on the gas tank lid but I always used 87. It was still running fine at 200k when I got rid of it. I know cars are a lot different now. When I was looking a few years back I avoided any car that was premium only. Since my cars are boring it wasn’t a big deal. I do put premium in the Firebird but not in the Jeep or hondas.
  8. How about a part time job or volunteer work? The PT job would give you something to do a few nights a week and some extra cash for vacations. Or have you looked at Columbus State for any classes that may interest you? There used to be grants or programs for people over 30 who go back to school. I remember I took a photography class a long time ago and learned a lot.
  9. Bump. A few have sold. All need to be sold by mid August. Please pass along if you know anyone interested. All prices are obo. Thanks
  10. I keep a blue tarp in my car emergency kit. They work great for changing a tire when it’s wet or lots of other stuff.
  11. Thanks Clay. They sell a decent first aid kit and the plastic ammo box makes a good way to carry it since it has an o-ring seal. I’ll be making another soon with the coupons.
  12. Updated list. A few gone. A few new ones. All look brand new. These were owned by an older gentleman that shot them little if ever. 13. I am helping a friends widow sell his gun collection. Below is part 1. More are coming since there are a bunch. Please let me know if there are any questions. Given the situation I would like a bill of sale signed for the modern guns just for her piece of mind. 14. Scott if Pos Vette doesn’t take the pads I will. I just did brakes on the wife’s van a year or 2 ago so I don’t “need” them. But I’ll take them for someday rather than throwing them away. Thanks
  15. Sorry to hear. Glad you are ok.
  16. I gave engraved pocket knives to my groomsmen. I received a flask for one wedding. Honestly paying for the tux or hotel is a better gift in my opinion. The last wedding I was in, the tux cost me $250, the hotel $200 plus gas to and back from Cleveland. I’m glad my friend got married but it was a hit cost wise.
  17. Edison’s used to be pretty good. It’s on McKinley near Woodys. U Part It is a good yard but they don’t organize by make so the cars are scattered. But their inventory is online which is nice.
  18. My neighbor has a similar Altima and there is a sensor under the brake pedal that commonly goes out and makes the car run like crap. We jumped it, replaced a battery and finally figured out it was that stupid sensor. Might be worth a try. Good luck
  19. A six pack of Nati Light and a tv and we could furnish a college apartment. Thanks Tim. I read on some govt website I should be 165. Since I’m 190 the govt says I’m fat. Since their never wrong....
  20. We are getting rid of this futon and it’s free if anyone can use it. I would put a new cushion on it but whatever. The frame has some scratches but still supports my fat ass. Text me or pm if interested 614-216-0567. Thanks http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1041&pictureid=9306
  21. Doc Thanks for having the hang out. One of the first times I met anyone from CR was there.
  22. Would the vette oil pan work if someone was swapping an LS motor into a 3rd gen Firebird? Asking for a friend....

    Anthony

Glad to hear he is doing better.
  24. I have appraised a lot of properties on the east side of Cleveland including North Randall. I hope the city takes advantage of this as the area has struggled for decades. Clay I agree with you on Amazon quickly becoming the go to place for parts. After looking around for a transmission mount I ended up buying a Delco one for $3 less than I could get an aftermarket one for at one of the local stores. I ordered it Wednesday night and it will be here today. Why wouldn’t you do that?
