  1. Facing the fact of a loved one having cancer is not easy, and no one can understand the aspect of possibly losing someone close until it happens to them. I would keep my head above water while help is being offered and still available. As much as the world seems messed up anymore there are still people out there willing to help, but in order for them to do that you need to be willing to help them help you by accepting what they are offering. I'm not saying I'm 100% familiar with your situation, but I lost my father in 2011 to lung cancer, and all the time he was battling, my mother was unable to work and has been on disability for many years. I always remember my dad filling out forms to put sick days into a "bank" for people who needed days for a situation like an unexpected illness, so when they ran out, they could use them within reason. Yearly my father would donate at least half of his sick days to this bank. After 26 years of doing this he came to a point where he couldn't. Luckily he had terrific health insurance through his employer since he was a government employee, and the insurance was able to lift a huge burden from us, but it was still expensive to us overall with him missing work, etc. After he ran out of sick days, The Eagles (who he was very involved with) hosted what they said would be a "small" fundraiser for our family, just enough for the hotel rooms over in Columbus for my mother and grandparents while he was over here for surgery's, etc. What we didn't know is they had arranged for most of his friends and Co-Workers from the Civil Engineering wing he was in to come by for a steak dinner a local grocery had donated, free of charge for knowing my father for many years. They had a "recommended donation" for each dinner of something like $5 just to cover the extra little things needed to be bought. The commander of the wing presented him with a "check" of 90-ish sick days to be used that people had donated, to "cover" what he had put into the program over all those years. All in all this is what really helped us out in our hour of need, and I am forever indebted to those people who kindly chose to donate even the smallest of amount. I was a full time engineering student at the time and couldn't do much to help until that semester of school was done. My dad was one of the last people to ask for help, and one of the first people to step up and help out with anything, as I'm sure you are as you've demonstrated with the toy drives and many other things I'm sure you've done. My point being that there is no shame in accepting help, even without asking for it. I'll never forget having to literally push my weakened father out the door to go to this thing. He was beyond embarrassed to have gotten help from someone, and until the day he passed that was the only time I had ever seen him shed a tear.
  2. You drive a Saab lol. Most peoples dailys are as fast as you. I've always had a soft spot for Late 90's/Early 00's Mustangs. Never could bring myself to own one with a 4.6 still in it though. Love it, looks like it should be a blast on and off the track.
  3. I'm not using a GT47. Sticking with something between 60mm-67mm. GT47 stuff is built 2J territory. I have no intention of pulling this engine for 2 years. 1JZ's respond awesome to even a smaller single. The stock twins run out of their efficiency range at 14-16psi. Not only that but they like to explode since they are ceramic wheeled. A lot of guys back when 1jz swaps gained a lot of popularity would take the CT26 turbo's off of 7M engines and bump them up to a 50 or 60 trim. Nothing huge but that would give awesome response and cost nothing compared to a new turbo.
  4. The car will always stay white. I don't want to put colored wheels on it. The only "colors" I could go for are chrome, black, alloy or polished finish.
  5. Another thing I'm definitely changing is the wheels. I've thought about doing a big and little setup on it, but I think on a car like this it would look a little funny. I've seen a few weld racing setups on them and it just doesn't flow in my eyes. I'm open to suggestions for these, I've thought about something similar to a Volk TE37, but a knock off. The real ones are insanely out of budget. Ill post up pictures later on of my favorite setups on these cars.
  6. That turbo would be huge for me. Maybe if I ever put a 2j bottom end in It. Another few things I've thought about doing -Sumping the tank, would allow me to run a much bigger, single pump, which would save me the headache of modifying my hanger to fit 044's or something similar. The issue is finding someone locally that is willing to do this. -Putting A/C back in it. I'm a manwhore for A/C and since I still run a mechanical fan cooling shouldn't be an issue. I may throw in a secondary fan on the opposite side of my fan blade, on the front side of the condenser to act as a "pusher" to help keep temps down. This is a pretty easy setup, all I would really need is a 1j/2j compressor with a 7M cap and either re-use my lines, or buy new lines. Since it will run on R134 opposed to R12 all new components aside from the evaporator I think would be a safe bet to replace.
  7. Fixed. Link was missing 2 letters somehow.
  8. Tim, I work for autozone. The battery has a 5 year free replacement warranty and a 3 year prorating period... If yours isn't then somehow you got screwed. At the time you bought it, they were 8 year batterys, 5 free, 3 prorated, now they are 5, being 3/2.
  9. By last March, I assumed you meant this past March. Not two March's ago. In that case $87 would make sense. BTW it is a 5 year warranty with a 3 year replacement if you bought it then. No need to call anyone, could punch it in myself with the info you've left on CR on your FS threads...
  10. I highly doubt you paid $87 for a Gold battery a year ago. None I can think off off hand for $100 or less. Maybe a 51 or 51r for $100-ish
  11. Haven't updated this in forever. I got an offer on the car for how it sat, that made me really think about selling it, for 3-4 weeks me and the potential buyer went back and forth about a price, when he the money would be available, etc. Typical selling issues, so I didn't do any progress on it, and had in my mind I would sell it. After not driving this thing for 2 months or so, I realized I actually kind of miss it, and now that I have a daily I think it would make a cool toy on the weekend. I really don't want to go the ProEFI route just yet, I'm still going to go single, but haven't decided on an ECU. I've thought about putting a MapECU in it, and run a 67mm turbo which could still put me well into the 400hp range, which would be fun for the amount of cash I have into it. I'd have to go up to 550cc injectors, and get a Bosch 044 or two, but it would be running by summer which would be fun. Then I could get a few smaller things done to it and enjoy it.
  12. If you can find a new battery anywhere for $89.99 installed, with anything outside a 30-90 day warranty, from a local store, in stock, I'd be amazed.
  13. Things must have just changed recently then... And saying that someone who brings you your food so you don't have to get off the couch gets a $1 tip isn't?
  14. I would say no, but I guess I'm mad that someone who can't see that $135 for a battery and $5 extra to me is a deal compared to $200 for a dipshit to install it and be out of a car for a day makes more money than me somehow.
  15. 1. Yes 2. No, but if the bulb is one we normally aren't technically allowed to do, I'll do it. I'll get shit if I install it, so why not install it and take cash if they give it to me? If you or anyone else had to deal with some of the dumbfucks I do I'm sure the extra $5 for a Big Mac meal at the end of the day would be nice to you as well. 3. It's my "JOB" to put shit on if I deem I'm able to. I've been told time and time again that if it is pouring rain, don't go out until it slows down, etc. 95% of the time unless you are an arrogant prick who seems like you are in a big hurry to get shit done for free you can easily do yourself, then you can stand inside or wait, or go out and get soaked trying to figure out something it takes me a minute to do. I've worked outside for 2 years prior to this job in basically any weather conditions we face in Ohio. Again, another jobbed that I wasn't considered a "tipped' employee. Did I take tips? Yes. Was I pissed when I had to do something that was really outside the limits of my capability with the tools at hand? Sometimes, other times I just got over it. I'm certain if you slung parts for a month, even at your current rate of pay, you would take the $5 tips when you saw them, and be just as pissed/frustrated/whatever when 90% of the people who walk in the door and don't know anything about their car aside from what color it is. If we want to do the "20% of every customers ticket" shit, I could just as easily say I want 20% of every transaction I do, as well as 20% of the grand total I saved the customer by changing their battery for them, instead of letting them take their POS to the shop where they can pay $200 to have a battery installed and have it take tenfold longer. Maybe that clears the air as to why I have come to accept tips against my companys policy of "no tip taking." (Which originated from employee's who don't know jack shit about cars not getting squat when it took them an hour and a half to replace a battery that shouldn't take an average joe but 20 minutes.) So in comparison, $5 to me for doing a better, faster job than the lube monkey's at the dealer, Firestone, Midas, etc. to do a battery for $200 or so and half ass it, is a bargain in my eyes.
  16. And also, at work I'm "not allowed" to take tips. I can't tell you how many times I've taken a look at a headlight, or battery that is more work than I am technically allowed to do within X amount of time without getting bitched out, and a customer mentions giving me a few bucks, I'm usually a little more willing. It's an even bigger surprise when I get it on something simple, like one of those Hyundai batteries that have a single hold down like a chevy truck and take a whopping 3 minutes to change out. People appreciate me hustling so they can get on with their day, I appreciate them bringing me an easy car to work on which means I'm out in the cold less, and we both walk away happy. I appreciate anything, even if it is $5. Christmas Eve I changed 3 batteries for a guy. Both batteries in his Powerstroke, and a battery in his wifes Touareg IIRC. Battery in the VW or w.e. it was, was in the hatch area, and down beneath the spare. The guy handed me $30, even though both were fairly simple, and then brought me 2 pizzas the next time he saw my truck outside work. You can believe I'm going to bend over backwards for this guy the next go around without expecting a tip, and help him quicker and a lot more than the ghetto asshole yacking on their phone while I'm struggling to get their headlight out and they are asking me how long it's going to take. That said, I think in an environment like that, just being a pleasant person to deal with is a tip in itself. If you are willing to help me help you, then I am more than happy to do so. If you come in and expect me to grab everything you want, ask me how to do it, then ask for 10% off your total, it's not gonna happen.
  17. Hey Tim, I was hoping I could contact you in regards to some pictures I would like done of myself and my girlfriend as a late Christmas present. I was curious as to how much you would charge. I don't feel like taking pictures is a very hard thing, since you just aim the lens at us, and push a button. I was just hoping that maybe you could just do it for the electricity it takes to charge your camera and batteries, and then use my paper I supply, and I'll just pay for the electric your printer and computer use, but I don't feel like I should have to pay for all the electric you would use for your computer because I know you would be on it anyways, and wouldn't be editing/printing solely my pictures. I think $4 is a fair price to cover electric and your gas, pus your time to take and edit the pictures, since all you do is aim and push, and the editing is aiming and clicking. I would really like to do business with you, if you think this is an acceptable offer, please, PM me a date and time as well as a place to meet you. Thanks
  18. Replaced one last night, new one works perfect, and the old one doesnt leak so I have no need to replace it if I don't have to. I'm looking for the GM part number for the oil cooler line lock. This is the part that sits on the line that both clips onto the oil cooler line itself, and into the filter housing. Hoping someone has a resource outside if what I have that is able to give me the part number or a link to a replacement part. The new line is $25 but they are are more than I feel like replacing if I don't need to. Thanks in advance.
  19. Wish I coulda made it. Got busy and then fell asleep
  20. If I get this oil cooler line replaced on my truck ill definitely be up. May drag a lonely roommate up.
  21. I'll bring my laptop up and an hdmi cable to play it to the TV with. Since wags laptop was inferior last night :gabe:
  22. I'm 6'6" 270+ and was in the top 1/2 of my heat on average. On a course like this, being slick, weight doesn't really hurt you IMO.
  23. Run #2. Much quick times. Little more bumping into people than I would have liked, but oh well.
