  1. Dropped the 71 off up there late last night, trailering the 70 up this morning. Going to make a quick pit stop but should be there by noonish
  2. Great to see at least part of the platform still being used over there. I'm sure the Ty that the drivetrain came out of had one hell of an interesting life before it gave up the organs. As a Sy/Ty member since 1992 the stories of those trucks in the "Eastern Block" areas have been beyond entertaining.
  3. Or buy a 325 motor (or donor car), which has more aftermarket support than you could ever want for dirt cheap. Fits in the same hole, largely all the same wiring. Toss a cheap eBay turbo kit on it and bang done. No German/Japanese nightmare, it's still got the purity factor of all Bavarian so you can hang out in UA without having to hide your 'Merica keychain.
  4. The gains on MOST cars are very minimal between the two options unless you are running some form of boost. NA stuff, personally it's not worth the money you'll spend for the mandrel. I agree about the unsure why they (Hatter) wouldn't install your stuff, typically as long as you are fine with them doing modifications right there if they are needed they will do damn near anything for $$$.
  5. I think this is more of an "I want the grunt and growl of a V8" over power, otherwise why not toss a turbo kit on this thing and make the same kind of power than the Fox v8? WAY less work, no random communication/wiring nightmares Personally with the understanding of how much work that extensive of a swap will be and how precious "free time" is plan on this thing being down for a LONG time before she's sorted and street ready. Not trying to piss in your cheerios but this things are more often than not deep dark rabbit holes
  6. Bringing 2 slow old schools and 1 reasonably slow old school at this point. Aiming for 16s
  7. Don't think Mad Hatter can even do mandrel bending can they? Most shops don't have that equipment any more, with the cost of exhaust kits falling to crazy low pricing the "custom exhaust shops" have pretty much all faded away
  8. If only those of us running the 6G72 VR4 had such ease of making crazy power Can not begin to tell you how annoying it is that the "little brother" is capable of incredible increases for cheap and also not breaking things left and right. First time I got walked by an Evo8 with nothing but a boost controller exhaust and a tune... was a serious kick in the plums.
  9. Personally I'm after them as donor vehicles, something that's been sitting rotting in Michigan I would probably never spend the time/energy/money to bring back to life. However, if certain vehicles have useful hoods/fenders/trim pieces.. worth the drive for correct period parts.
  10. Sounds like you found yourself an AutoX platform for next year Clay Put the running one on the ground, cannibalize whatever parts you need and crush the rest. Smiles to be had for tossing it 'round some cones far outweigh the $150 you'll get in crush value for the two cars combined.
  11. His phone number is currently on fire A few things to reach out on that he's got in photos
  12. Interesting. There's so much potential for story tellers with the incredible advancements in digital animation I'm extremely surprised we don't see more content like this. As a history nerd, totally digging this
  13. If you are an AutoXing kind of Miata owner there's another event with the Miata club on 10/8 great place to meet some other pocket racecar kind of people
  14. Lucore Automotive always tries to take care of our CR friends
  15. Also how in the WORLD are they planning on routing something like this? Trying to get Right Of Way for that kind of corridor and distance... gut lawd the red tape and paperwork!
  16. Still don't have the intercooler on the Mustang yet but could swing down to watch a few CR folk shred tires. How many of us will be there?
  17. Have you seen the way she's holding that stick? Would bang YOU
  18. You would prefer the equally cheap and non-functional stock unit? And imagine there's a wall between you and the kids in the jump seats in the back so DAD DAD DAD DAD DAD can be drowned out with beauty of Subaru sounds
  19. IF it's been looked after that Volvo would be perfect. If not... you will have some kicks in the pants.
  20. http://bratforsale.com/1985-gl-independence-ky/ And install a vintage air system
  21. What you should be even more excited about is the Core Life going in! Kale wraps and Cucumber Waters on Saturday mornings! Yay! /s

    Hey now

Definitely a good way to get back into the toy car world. A little bit of low, a little bit of go, and some additional rumble are all those cars really need to put a smile on your face. Good pickup and welcome aboard!
  23. Shy of a dealership I would say somewhere like Auto Assets in Powell, those guys do a TON of Porch-a work. If it's something more general as in inspecting brakes/steering/suspension and the like there are a few quality shops around that could certainly help you.
  24. Had this sent to me by a friend/ex-co worker who knows we get our Cars and Coffee on nearby. Their new location is next to the Target there, so if you or anyone you know is looking for full or part time work in the OSU Campus area this could be for them. Looking for everything from stock positions to cash stands, to management positions. free image hosting
