  1. Welcome to my nightmare Have to weigh the is it worth all this headache, footwork, and paperwork to get this thing titled and out of here? Or do we just set it in a back corner somewhere and let it rot.
  2. Ohhh Snap! Clay you better already have a section of your closet set aside for "Cruising Outfits" for this thing once it's bagged.
  3. This has already been done, and was done months ago. At one point we were in communication with the customer about this issue and they informed us they didn't have the title and couldn't get it now that the previous owner has passed away. So we can't issue a mechanics lien against people who don't have a title, and we can't put a lien against a dead guy.
  4. Is it just me or has he "Strip Club Bachelor Party" kind of become like an 80s movies these days? How big of a group is involved in this? Do they have kids yet? Approx age of the poor guy? That can swing the votes on what all types of shenanigans go on.
  5. The customer DOES have a bill of sale for the purchase of the car, so that is at least semi useful however they are unfortunately no longer returning calls. Unfortunately there's not much we can do to MAKE someone contact us back. Being as we like having our highly polished reputation the idea of doing something on the darker side of grey isn't at all attractive. Turning it into a racecar IS a tempting idea, would make one hell of a AutoX or Road Racing car however what happens after we've ragged the hell out of it or crashed it into a wall and the customer shows up to take possession? Can't imagine that talk goes well.
  6. We have tried the mechanics lein the problem is it's kind of in a Fast and Furious "No Body's Car" limbo phase right now. Hence the annoying nightmare of this thing just sitting around. Unfortunately the BMV is less than excited about giving out next of kin info to some random shop who comes a callin'.
  7. Alright so here's the short version of this story. * Customer purchased a car from a private seller, brought it in with a check engine light to be fixed within the first couple weeks. * Applied for temp tags while waiting for title * Original seller perished * Customer after receiving the quote for the fix has decided to decline any work being done. * Vehicle has been abandoned here for 7 months. * Contacted customer about storage/abandonment/etc they agreed to give us the title of the vehicle however they can't get it due to the original seller being dead. * Customer has now divorced, neither party is returning phone calls. So.. coming to ya'll for some Automotive Law advice, what direction do we go to get a title for this damn thing?
  8. Well since I'll actually be in town this weekend for a change, any racing going on I should get involved in?
  9. Will be out cruising on Thursday, in the Good Guys show Friday, then will be heading to Pittsburgh for Saturday and Sunday
  10. Will be at C&C in my typically fashionably late style
  11. Could consider this in trade for brake labor. Reach out if interested
  12. And lets be real here, say it DOES have some motor issues to fix it's not like it's hard to find LS parts. Besides every time something breaks it's just an excuse to UPGRADE
  13. With the popularity of this drive train I imagine you aren't far off the truth. It's been talked about before that the Hellcat setup won't fit into the engine bay in current configuration so... take it off the line for a bit rework it to take the new monster they've created and bring it back modern, monstrous, and more expensive!
  14. Rig up some RC motors to the front wheels on a remote so just in case she needs a little boost at the end, Dad hits the remote button and she gets the win.. by an inch or a mile NOS stickers?
  15. Great pickup! I'll second the opinion that one of these must be in my garage at some point. Though in Black and Red please
  16. LucoreRacing@gmail.com Unless its dick pics you yellow bastard
  17. Then you end up with some extremely complicated / awkward boarder issues between Scotland and the north of England. This was a very interesting chess game that I don't think anyone truly expected to go this far. There has been a slowly simmering rage about immigration among the working class of England for quite a long time which was mostly about eastern europeans not folks from the arab world. Initially it was a symbolic stand where the Brits shake their fists, stamp their feet, and show that they are dissatisfied with the EU setup. However it then caught momentum among the common folk over this new wave of immigrants and threats...and we end up here.
  18. Completely agree with the why wasn't the R33 more of a star car, especially given it should stock for stock monster just about anything else they roll with. Not to mention it would be near impossible to actually see on the streets of the US at that point. So many of the cars that were featured in this movie have gone on to become highly desirable highly valuable and iconic. Many people KNEW the FD RX7 was awesome, and the MKIV Supra.. but after this movie the lust grew immeasurably. My earlier point about the Subarus, there were a few 2.5 RS out there in those days running JDM swaps but very very few I'm sure. Even if you "overnight parts from japan" you didn't have many people who understood the potential in the platform. Remake this film today.. and what are your star cars? I'm sure at least ONE of them involves some sort of massively modified Subaru
  19. So, daughter comes back one my time for the 3peat.. then shifter cart for the boy? You are starting down a fun and slippery slope my friend!
  20. Oh this is fantastic, love it! Sounds like you have some great problems to have, kids that love cars and are already introduced to the hobby. "Retire" her race car now that it's too small for her, put some championship stickers on it and put her on the sons pit crew?
  21. Why's this gotta be a dad thing? Could TOTALLY set up a circle track for these in our parking lot... hmmm....
  22. Finally have a Ford ready for UFOing and I'm out of town in Pittsburg for the 7/10 event!! Grrrr!
  23. I had high hopes for a good turn out then leaving the theater to a bunch of the new generation standing around in the parking lot talking about lowering springs, exhausts, old air intakes, and turbo kits. Sadly it was my group and 3 other cars of the "tuner type" so we skipped the parking lot talk and grabbed some whiskeys instead. 15 years on, how many of these cars are still the "go to" ones for the tuner world? Something I never noticed before that would absolutely be missing from a re-film today is the Subaru brand. Maybe I missed it but is there even 1 in the original film?
