  1. How we looking for this? Still gathering 630-645 roll west at 7?
  2. Is there any info/footage of the scandalous happenings from the weekend between the 2nd and 3rd place cars I heard about? Something about stopping on track and purposely wrecking his competitor?
  3. Yessir, just down the road from us and often times keep off hours. Make sure you ask for Andy and mention you are from CR
  4. Charlie at CSN is the best in the city, that's why he has the client base he has. You name the super car or uber rich person in central Ohio, if it needs paint/body work done that's where it goes. The vast majority of our business goes to Taylor Auto Body, good honest group of guys that do an excellent job. Certainly not the cheapest out there but you'll be very happy with the finished product. http://taylorcollision.com/ Let Allen or Nick know Austin sent you
  5. Most everything comes with factory suspension settings, we can scan or input the vehicle data and pull up exact specs. Once you've lowered or raised a car/truck/jeep/whatever you are changing the geometry so the stock specs don't apply any more. With customers who have other than stock suspension we are typically doing a customer alignment so it not only tracks true and wears more normal. We also pre-load the vehicle to customers weight in order to ensure the alignment is correct not just sitting in the parking lot but actually going down the road/track with you in it. All of that is typically done at an hourly rate and most often is 1-3 hours depending on what we run into. Now, that doesn't mean everyone with a slightly lowered ride is looking for something that specific. If all someone just wants toe adjusted to within spec and doesn't care about the caster/camber we can certainly do that. As hopefully anyone here knows I do my absolutely best to take care of our CR people as best I can, I don't recall specing out anything for you ride but would be happy to! Shoot me a PM I'll see what I can do for you.
  6. Have them on the Sentra and they are excellent. Have driven in rain and shine and no problems to report, hold corners around our Round 'a Boots very well. Also have these on the Syclone and for as little as it gets driven they seem to be holding up pretty well. Haven't rotted off in the past 2 seasons
  7. I vacation in Detroit twice a year, for the Auto Show and also a music festival at the end of May. Tons of great options for food, incredible music culture, access to plenty of sports/entertainment, within an easy drive of some gorgeous natural beauty. You also have some incredible skyline thanks to the building put up during the boom years. Are there places to stay out of? Sure. Just like in any big city. But the vast majority I will freely walk alone in at night without having to worry about being shot/stabbed/raped/pillaged. Property values are still pretty depressed in most areas so you can get a pretty decent value for money. The Troy area is covered in corporate/office buildings and the roads are built to handle the traffic. Oh, and they have a Twin Peaks.. if you are into that kind of thing The roads, SUCK. They use I believe more salt than any state in the country and compound that with city services being nearly bankrupt for quite a while you can end up with some very nasty surfaces.
  8. Running on the road or even AutoX most cars have enough to keep reasonably cool but when you open it up to road course it becomes a whole different ballgame. The Forester we are building will be perfectly capable of handling street blasts and AutoX duty however even with with the large intercooler, oil cooler, and upgraded radiator I'm more than a little bit worried about whether it can handle 20-30 minutes of solid flogging. With the QR25DE going out in the Sentra SE-R it gives us an opportunity to go any direction we want with it. There are a few successfully tracked examples out there both in the high compression NA configuration and a turbo configuration if they are properly built for it. However, I've NEVER tracked a FWD "Racecar" before so there's that as well.. And I'll have you all know, made it to 3 "on track" events in 2016 so THERE! :fuckyeah: Plan is racing nearly every weekend in 2017, of course the best laid plans and all that..
  9. 350Z is definitely an attractive option, and with being one of the sponsor shops for the Ohio G/Z/GT-R Club it becomes even more so. Currently we are working on a 350Z + turbos for a customer, once that thing is done and we see where she performs we'll see. Not an inexpensive platform to get into but pretty enjoyable even in stockish trim. For those who has done road racing at places such as Mid Ohio and Gingerman how much of an issue is heat soak on the turbo cars? That question is something we are kicking around, do we go high compression NA or go the turbo route. I noticed with the TT Stealth that within two laps I was considerably down on power given my intercoolers were massively heat soaked.
  10. You actually aren't nearly as far off as you may think Rick, it's been a conversation we've had a couple of times. Unfortunately this year has been extremely busy and not allowed nearly as much track time as we had expected so with 2017 we are going to have slightly more modest goals. If we get some good road racing / AutoXing in with this coming season an 818 would be an excellent idea for 2018. Would rather have a $5,000-$7,000 racecar sitting here not being used than a $25,000 racecar not being used.
  11. Part of this is yes the build up process, it's something we can document and share with our customers/potential customers as well as take racing. Part of why we are also building a Subaru track car is to not only show "hey we work on your stuff" but also "hey we race this stuff too". Makes people more confident in a shop I would think? As for the FD. It's a good ride I'm sure and a great way for someone to just plunk down cash up front and take it racing the next day. Anything we take racing or even just buy for a shop car is typically torn down checked for faults and put back together, just the way we do things. One of the reason when we buy Subaru we tend to buy them blown up, we are going to tear it all apart anyways might as well get it cheap and do it right. No matter how much you trust the person selling you the car, or know its history, you never know how close to death it is. We've experienced this more than a few times in the past.
  12. I also have 0 desire to throw an LS in something like that especially after a 7k+ purchase price
  13. Honestly if I were going to go that route I would just build the MKIII Supra I already have sitting here
  14. Well to revive this thread.. here we go. Been DDing this little bastard Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V around a bit the last few days wait on the engine to finally let go. Well this morning fire her up and out the tail pipe comes the ghost. Get her to the shop and see what's what... http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/Mobile%20Uploads/20160927_115227_zpsxxd4umor.jpg Coolant in 2 of the 4 cylinders, slow leak on #3 plug seal, O2 sensor code (which the 2.5 Nissan is notorious for). So looks like this could be a viable opportunity for rebuild/upgrade/racecar stuff OR, fix it and kick it? If it's to be a racecar, we go solid internals and high compression NA or go turbo style, low compression and make some wooshy wooshy noises? What say you CR?
  15. Shoot me a message on here if you like or give me a call at the shop. Can get you done either way. 614-873-4470
  16. Exact same thing I thought of! He's gotta have duel exhaust on everything!
  17. Yep that's Joe. He's got the same electric cutout setup I have so you can go from loud and annoying to quieter and less annoying at the flip of a switch. Nasty 462 Pontiac under the hood and a freshly rebuilt/upgraded 4 speed
  18. Good lawd apparently this caught on over the weekend. Anyone needing something done this week still on this special pricing let me know.
  19. If you can talk Bob at Performance Research into taking on your project you won't find a better more capable machine shop in the state. The man is a wizard. He also finally took on an assistant (Apprentice? Junior Wizard?) Joe that I'm sure many of you have seen/met in the red '66 GTO. Great turn time on work they do, but they don't take on just any 'ole project any more he has so much business he can be picky on what he does.
  20. The early Gen Viper that just want to kill you from start to stop is something I've lusted after for many many years. At some point there WILL be one in black and red sitting in the garage. In TT form how are these things beyond just Terrifying? Driven stock, driven slightly modified, never one nearly this powerful.
  21. Well changing oil gives you a birds eye view of what he'll see once he does this to his truck All sorts of sparkling chunky things coming out with the oil
  22. +1 for M&M Mike does a ton of work for us, though you DO typically have some wait time. Great work and great guy. Just put your blinders on when you walk into the shop
  23. That damn show. I'll freely admit when The Crow first made its appearance on the show I opened the door the garage and saw my LeMans sitting there.. thinking hmmm... Then you do your homework and realize just how much time/money/pain you'll have involved in the car which you will NEVER see back again. Without upgrades to the supporting systems especially fuel that will be one very short lived 4.8..
  24. Had this exact same issue happen with the new set of Powerstop rotors I put on the stealth. Nothing like finally getting that bastard back together with all "high end" parts and hearing that dread noise as soon as you pull backwards off a lift. Friggin Fraggin
