  1. There are already some pretty heavy hitters out there making it happen in the streets, almost none of them are CR members
  2. FB/IG unfortunately they are a necessary evil for business purposes these days. Otherwise I communicate via texts/calls with people I actually care about.
  3. This one means a lot to me. As I say in the video description, we can all trace back to that moment that got us into cars. For me, this one is it.
  4. Carlyle Racing I'm sure would be down for hosting some sort of Dyno event if we had enough people interested? Paging Andy!
  5. Booking our stuff for the trip this weekend. Excited and more than mildly terrified for this adventure taking 3 cars that aren't even built yet on a 1000+ mile journey what could POSSIBLY go wrong!?
  6. And by plenty you mean...? If so PERFECT I would love to see lots of these 10 second trucks coming out to our track days!
  7. I have yes, almost weekly Very rarely do 10 second street cars have the drivability and creature comforts I enjoy... unless you are throwing $100,000 into something factory nasty which isn't a game I can afford personally. But I certainly don't mind working on them for other people and making them go straight in a hurry
  8. Definitely in plus a guest or two. Doesn't matter whether gas or electric racing is racing.
  9. I'm generally in the same game as you Cordell, I prefer to be able to enjoy my cars on the street and able to cruise them to wherever I want. I'll be playing mostly in the 10-12 second club with most of what we'll be bringing to these fights so don't feel like you're all alone out there!
  10. Was just about to ask if we are going to have Billy's truck involved in this... a little birdy told me there's an engine build going on currently for the 2019 season and that little thing is already TERRIFYING fast
  11. 500+- at the moment on a street tune on pump so nothing TOO crazy. Crucial unfortunately disappeared the DAY BEFORE our race gas tune so...that's being put off until Spring. Will get that done before IFO. At this point trying to get it to hook on a street tire at the track is...challenging.
  12. Joe you down to run your JZ against our JZ this year?
  13. Give me 2 lengths and the wiggle and I'll run you at Pacemakers
  14. Yes it is, we just have to be out there representing the brand and being inclusive. Unfortunately far too often there has been a bit of a superior attitude where we aren't looking to help get newcomers to the area or the "sport" involved with us. Remember whenever you see something fun out there on the street or hard parked in a lot... that's a potential new member of our little Racing Community.
  15. Realistically we also need to bring new blood into the CR fold. How many people have been through "The Oven" in the past 6 months? As others have stated the VAST majority of people who are active on here don't / can't race anymore or have moved 2+ hours away. Those who were competitive with their builds in the mid 2000s will find themselves terribly outgunned in the modern performance world. That being said, would love to see this site get back to more shit talking about cars instead of politics! Personally I have quite a lot of planned time at various tracks and events this year so I'm more than happy to fly the CR flag and cheerlead. On the business side we have quite a few upcoming project cars that should be able to put down some semi decent times whether 1/4 or 1/8th. Cheers to you Wagner for lighting this fire.
  16. Having not run there in a few years, unless they put major work into the facility driving anything faster than a 12 second car there is SKETCHY. Pacemakers seems to really be garnering some great racing lately, while I'm not a huge fan of 1/8th mile racing its a WHOLE LOT less dangerous. Unfortunately our turbo import stuff is mostly 2nd 1/8th cars at Trails because street tires out there are TERRIBLE. I'm in for the DD class this year, wrapping up the Pontiac I'll be DDing any day its not raining next week... FINALLY!
  17. FINALLY got this video cut together of the head work on the Pontiac 455 rebuild. Take a look tell us what you think!
  18. 2019 is going to be more than mildly insane for me. The short version.. '70 LeMans will be finishing off the motor and dyno running next week, machining and parts ordering is all finally done. Get that car back together in January then new wiring, disc brakes, new suspension. That car I'll be driving to Powertour 2019 as well as my street fighter/drag days car. '71 LeMans pull motor again to fix two small stupid issues, repairing small rust issue on drivers side rocker before cancer spreads. Also fixing small windshield leak issue. '68 LeMans all suspension work has been done, need to get the big disc brake conversion ordered as soon as the '70 is in running order. Block machining is done, rotating assembly is on its way for the low compression setup. Trying to drag this build out as long as I can as the heads/procharger cost is going to be a tad painful. Chassis will be completed by end of 2019 for racing in 2020. '73 Charger... full stroker engine build, block is currently getting machined, heads are already done and ready to go. Street build with nothing super crazy, will have nitrous pistons for a planned 150 shot. Fuel injection and transmission mods already sitting at the shop ready to go. This car will also be making the Powertour in 2019. '92 Stealth TT intercooler upgrade finally being done, new suspension and wheels/tires are FINALLY going to be done. After the last season of AutoX / Mid Ohio there's no more putting that off, so spring time comes and she'll finally be getting some loving. Going to leave the power level alone on that thing, as long as the motor holds together I'm kicking that extremely expensive can down the road. '92 Stealth RT finish off belts/pulleys and suspension all of which are at the shop and tag it in for daily driver duties. NA version of my TT so I can enjoy it without wanting to race every boy racer I line up with at a stop light. '91 Stealth TT finally repair the rear power steering setup on it, wheels to Wheel Medic to get refinished then new tires to get it rolling. Leaving this damn thing bone stock and original! '02 SE-R Spec V new transmission just came in next week to bolt up to the engine I've had sitting on a stand for... 14 months. Drop engine and trans in the thing and drive it, try not to ponder how much money I have spent rebuilding a $3000 car. '64 Volvo 122s finally get the time to pull it in rebuild the carbs and exhaust, replace the 25 year old tires and drive it! '99 Forester SELL IT! '86 Mustang just replaced the fuel pump and fixed a boost leak, get the final dyno tuning done and enjoy it as a track rat AutoX whatever beater. Try not to look my accountant in the eyes
  19. There are a long long list of reasons I hate modern MB parts designers. Crap materials, overcomplicated designs, blind bolt holes with various depths of the SAME FUCKING BOLT... *shivers*
  20. More and more of your shops are going the route of "Remote Tuning" instead of having a dedicated tuner on staff. The benefit is we can again have more specialized tuners logging in to set up specific cars, the negatives obviously are numerous beyond just not having a physical presence to check the thing over and put in the hand work.
  21. What a hell of a sensation that has to be in what used to be a front wheel drive go-kart! Also, absolutely LOVE the double up of the Mini S badge to make it an SS great play on the theme
  22. What shirt did you wear for this one? Always love that you get yourself out to these events some rain shit or shine and do so for good causes. Will DVR it on an upcoming rerun.
  23. You also have to have someone willing to possibly break a tire back down and spin it, provided the shop has the equipment needed to visualize the issue. Many wheels and tires need to be "spun" slightly or even up to 180 degrees to get the best possible weight offset. Usually a step skipped in TireMounting101
  24. Not going to speak out too much but yes Crucial left the building they were using from Vic's Body Shop in a bit of a hurry. They are currently tuning at Moorespeed and have been for well over a month, unfortunately Jon has no chassis dyno so things have been a tad wishy washy on how that's going to work out. Very soon you will see a new (old) player in the game to give people some tuning options. Unfortunately right now we as a car community are definitely hurting on trustworthy reliable tuning options.
  25. Unfortunately the trend of having fewer and fewer trustworthy shops that can get a car fixed right without bending you over the hood will continue. Not only are vehicles getting more and more complicated/difficult to work on with specialty tools and software but you are having fewer and fewer younger people entering the automotive work force. Finding someone WE can trust to work on our customers cars that's under the age of 45 is TOUGH!
