  1. Both Kat and I LOVE the Stinger, it's a comfortable car great styling the interior is excellent BUT... paying $50,000+ for a Kia is something that's reallllly hard to stomach. I know it's judging by a badge but..
  2. Looking down the barrel of racing seasons starting here in the next couple weeks it certainly seems like its "about that time again". Hammering out final details with Rich and Dave over the next couple days and I'll post here as soon as we know how we want to handle 2018. We need to be careful with our already close to full work load to not overbook ourselves and end up with stressed out techs and pissed off customers.
  3. They are trying to make this event more community focused as it looses more and more popularity, you'll see more car clubs and businesses involved over the next years. The auto shows just don't draw the crowds they used to and Columbus is a SMALL one compared to most of the big stops. I WILL say this is the first year I've actually done some shopping at the Columbus Auto Show, took the little lady on Sunday and had her sit in various cars to see what fit her best and seemed like something she would want. Interestingly the Dodge Charger which was easily in the lead... didn't fit her well at all, and has an extremely underwhelming interior. Sitting in the 300C it's incredible the difference in comfort / attention to interiors
  4. Well here we are again, despite the 20 degree temps this week it IS officially Spring time which means time to get those maintenance items done, those fair weather rides dusted off to get back on the road, and the toys tightened up for track season! As many have asked about in the past we will once again be rolling out some Spring CR deals on services! For those who DON'T know what we do, we are your one stop maintenance and repair shop and the home of the alignment wizard! Anything from oil changes and brake jobs on your Daily Driver to AutoX and Drag racing alignment setups, to engine overhauls and replacements no job to big no job too small! As an automotive enthusiast group I can comfortably say we have done quite a lot of work over the past couple years for the CR crew and look forward to another year of doing the same. The snows are melting, grass is turning green, time to put away the cammed up snow blowers and break out the REAL fun toys!

  6. I actually got into a conversation when it was discovered what I was watching, after they finished giving me shit for such a terrible movie. The appeal to me was that if the shit hits the fan I can TOTALLY see old vets like this being ones to step up, tag in for service, and stand for their fellow man/'mericans even more so than I can imagine younger people. Not saying I WANT to see an 80 year old dude trying to man a heavy gun while we are fighting for the survival of the human race against a small scale alien invasion.. but!
  7. Looks like there's an Ooopsies we fucked up video on Facebook now?
  8. You know what the absolutely terrible part about this photo is? I just rewatched this movie a couple of days ago. For some reason I had the scene stuck in my head of all the old timers on the Mo crewing it back up and had to watch it. Terrible, TERRIBLE movie but... that scene I DO enjoy.
  9. I think most scientists at this point will agree with Jody Foster's line... "If it's just us, that's an awful waste of space." Personally I think the biggest hiccup is time. As human beings as far as we know we have only been upright thinking beings for a very small blip on the cosmic time scale. If an alien race developed over a 100,000 time span who's the are still around in our time? A civilization that fell or "moved on" outside of our extremely limits time window would be something we would have almost no ability to detect. The point you made Clay about belief, that's absolutely true. As with religion a belief is something you hold to regardless of fact or proof. MANY people in the "ET" world are tinfoil hat wearing folk that "believe" all sorts of interesting things, from lizard men running the world, to abductions for procreation, to.. well there's no need to go down some of THOSE paths. However there are others who just look at the histories of mankind throughout the world that knew their natural world and spotted things which just didn't fit. Some of that can absolutely be filed away as stories/fantasies/legend but even those usually have SOME sort of basis in an actual event. Your point about underwater aliens is also extremely valid, what makes our planet unique isn't the solid dry ground on which we live, it's the vast quantities of liquid H2O that cover most of our planet. Not only does it make an excellent place to hide but as you point out a great resource. OUR civilization has barely made an attempt to utilize the near limitless energy potential stored there, would stand to reason that a truly space faring race/civilization already has that skill well in hand.
  10. Pretty solid turn out from the G/Z/GTR folk as usual, easily one of the most active and involved car clubs in the area. Also the Carlyle boys were out in FORCE all weekend, hopefully pick up some new paying customers!
  11. On the national trails side of things, is there any actual conversation about fixing that area to make it more AutoX friendly or no? Have heard for a number of years its damn near undriveable in many instances.
  12. Let me put out there first off, I HATE leasing and the idea of leasing. I get it, I just hate it. However, paying someone $4000+ for the privilege of renting their car at sticker price is a really hard pill for me to swallow. Having never leased a vehicle myself as I understand it there's no haggling involved, this is the car and this is the price it leases for. Correct? Or can I deliver some punches to get the overall value brought down initially then lease against THAT number?
  13. COMPLETELY agree! The shot in the arm these shows have provided to the classic car/racing industry has been very similar to the FnF boost to the Import/Tuner scene. Case in point, my personal money pits of Pontiacs
  14. I'll be 100% honest I've watched all of these shows since the beginning, not entirely sure why they hooked me so well but it happened. The explosion in popularity it's provided for drag racing and the performance industry is amazing, it's truly changing the face of the sport. At PRI this year, not sure I saw 1 "professional driver" of the NHRA like you would see in the past, but damn near the entire cast of Street Outlaws was there with lines everywhere for signatures. I'm glad they have gotten rid of some of the mythology of being "Street Cars" and made it "Street Race Cars" since anyone who's seen even a clip of an episode can tell none of these are street driven cars.
  15. Oh some of us still do, most of the folks from those days though tend to have families, jobs, responsibilities, and early bed times now
  16. Oh I'm certainly not actively worried and stressed out about an alien invasion, just find it interesting how much of this stuff is being publicly reported lately. Every culture around the world has tales and histories of mysterious things in the skies, but in the modern world it's been particularly taboo to talk about. None of this proves anything one way or another, but it's a positive thing to have conversations out in the open.
  17. No it does not. It could be lizard people who have been here on this planet for thousands of years since before man stood upright.
  18. Woo Woo congrats on the progress! Always nice to see someone diving in head first with a plan in place Now... let's see how well you STICK to that plan
  19. I've seen a couple unexplained objects in the sky from either backpacking/hiking trips when I was younger to deep sea fishing trips. There's certainly plenty of morsels out there for a small meal and a beer.
  20. https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/12/politics/unidentified-aircraft-navy/index.html And... another one.. doesn't it feel like I'm reviving this thread every couple days at this point?
  21. So... should we set up an all CR old school LAN party for some RTS gaming?
  22. Lol sorry Aaron I just almost always refer to them as Hers/Shes! Probably because they are spiteful pain in the asses that always demand more money and attention! The lighting and audio quality I'll definitely be moving up on here shortly, trying to get that all figured out while also getting work done as quickly as possible. This car NEEDS to be back up and running by end of April so time is of the essence! I have plenty of lighting and camera equipment from my photography days, we'll try some new stuff in part 3 Edit: Thanks as always for the feedback!
  23. Oh great I SO didn't need to know this
  24. Well...someone cue to music... http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/19095/listen-in-as-a-learjet-and-an-airbus-encounter-a-mystery-craft-high-over-arizona
