  1. This sounds a whole lot like my previous post in which I appealed to the masses of CR to bring cars out for a shoot at the garage. Hopefully you get some better quality responses, if not... I bet I know a shop that happens to have a good deal of rides
  2. I like where this is going, you definitely have some skill at what you do sir! Part of the beauty of the CR community we have a wide range of talents to pull on. We definitely don't want to come off as "elitist", just came to mind that if we want to continue growing this community it's a great way for us to be recognized while we are out and about.
  3. The last one and the smaller one above it to the right I like. What about putting something like a dotted, two solid lines in on it to make it look "road like"? Like solids around the corners and dotted through the straights like a passing area would be..? The creative process!
  4. Page 4 I'm digging two of those personally
  5. Any thoughts on this Anthony? Good idea? Waste of time?
  6. On a flag like that do you do a vertical logo? Or a horizontal one turned sideways?
  7. Sounds like a hell of an adventure ahead. Are you planning on living in this vehicle during the excursions or just as a support unit? In this same genre I would definitely lump a 4Runner, obviously be aware of the issues with the frame when shopping around but good examples can definitely be found in that price range and they are some of the most off road capable reliable rides you can find. Other than the cancer of frame rot that is taking my 98 4Runner SR5 to its grave the thing has gone through hell and back and been an incredible machine. Seats are very comfortable for long drives, easy to sleep in if need be, plenty of cargo room, and you would be hard pressed to find something that will handle the mud/rocks/whatever of trails better. Good for you for getting out there and experiencing life!
  8. I guess my #1 question would be is it something the group at large would see any value in? Or is it just a waste of $250?
  9. http://www.popupbanner.com/feather-flag-banners/ I'm thinking something along these lines? Simple to put up and take down, gives us a marker of where we are and could be an easy conversation starter for people who don't know who we are. Just stretching my brain muscles
  10. What part of town are you in?
  11. I HAVE considered ordering a new cover for the easy up, I can put a graphic or logo on it if that makes sense however for non CR stuff I would need a general or garage logo'd one as well. So that's why the thought came up for the banner. I know I've seen some of the Porsche club guys and I believe one of the Corvette clubs with banners they put up at shows. One thing I know can come into play with these is they can come off as elitist which I certainly don't want to promote. But as CR grows and matures just thinking maybe it was something to talk about.
  12. Problem with stickers is if you get pulled by the flashing lights people its a bit incriminating isnt it? Versus the flag we use at events the put away.
  13. Does one exist for CR? Just thinking for when out to events/shows and such is that something that people would park around? Seems we have been gathering a few newcomers here and there, adds some nice visibility to the group. Thoughts? Flames? Annnnd go!
  14. There are quite a few angry go-karts in town these days. Hopefully you toss it around at AutoX or road racing some, those things are a blast!
  15. Unfortunately with the pursuit of more and more speed for cheaper and cheaper investments these sorts of things happen. Find clapped out Honda, rust here and there, questionable metal elsewhere. Take a car designed to travel barely highway speeds and up the power 3-4x and you have a recipe for disaster. Having been to IFO several times the sorts of speeds some of these budget beasts achieve are absolutely insane. And tech inspections as previously mentioned are extremely minimal. Unfortunately these sorts of events cast a negative light not only on the IFO event staff but on legal racing in general. In a sport barely holding on to viability we really really don't need this sort of PR. Hopefully with those speeds and what happened inside he wasn't around for long to experience what likely was a very bad way to die.
  16. Hmmm unfortunately our new Subaru will be far too high on the value side to compete in anything but the EC class.. Edit: Hmmmm however... we DO have a Lincoln back there that could work....hmmmmm
  17. Sad to see but knowing how many of the cars that show up for these events are held together with twine and bubble gum not all that surprising. Hopefully this isn't the end of the IFO series but I imagine there are some serious questions to be answered for future event safety.
  18. Looks like a nice ride! Another C&C recruit for the CR clan Will definitely look for you one of these coming Saturdays and try not to drool on your piping
  19. Was about to link that and you beat me to it Clay. Yea I was DROOLING over this car pre auto show and again seeing it in Detroit. It was an even more attractive car in person. Then the day after the show closed comes word it won't ever be built as it's too much inter-brand cannibalization.
  20. Details on you? On the car? Plans? Photos?
  21. Mike and the gang at M&M always do a fantastic job, I'm there several times a week dropping off / picking up heads and blocks. Nearly all of your performance shops get their work done there, just don't look around at the chaos when you walk in!
