  1. It's definitely motivating me to possibly build something for myself on the first gen platform, though with my own interesting twist of course. We are still in the parts sorting/checking/acquiring stage which will unfortunately last quite a while. However as new parts and pieces show up there will be lots and lots of updates.
  2. With all the crazy swaps that go into these cars, one never knows what one my find Should be a decently easy car to part out though still plenty of people enthusiastically building them. Just glad the car took the hit not the driver!
  3. Well good to hear you are getting back in the dirt Sir! Looks like a solid machine to start from, and as you said you are very very familiar with this platform. Will definitely be paying attention as this continues!
  4. Not going to bother copy and pasting the entire Craigslist ad over to here but the short strokes are, previous owner put on a non-catted up pipe and blew it up because he didn't get it tuned. So, dead motor but otherwise the car was in excellent shapes. We do to it what we do, and it's ready to rock and roll down the road for someone else. Whether you decide to modify it in whatever for you choose or leave it in stock form and enjoy it, lots of options on the table. Car runs drives shifts stops perfectly, just started the engine break in this week so now sitting with a belly full of new fluids and up for sale. Asking $9500 firm http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/5432351139.html
  5. Holy shit sorry to hear man Hope you are OK and the car took the only bumps and bruises Not a problem if you need our help getting her back in working shape just let me know.
  6. Unfortunately due to the vast amount of time investment we can only do so many. I think all of last year we only completed 4 of them. A lot of ordering parts, waiting, ordering more parts, waiting, test fitting, ordering more parts... Unfortunately also cuts into the free time to get our OWN project cars... which is why I have 3 of mine currently sitting waiting on wrench time and rich has... uh... 8? lol
  7. Original floors are perfect, body is in damn good shape as well. The customer bought it literally when he was 15 drove it home and it came apart. Been sitting in garages ever since. He and his dad took it down to bare metal, primed and repainted it. UNfortunately it was done in a garage with not a lot of experience so there are certainly some imperfections. It was also done several moves ago from what we know so it's picked up some extra blemishes along the way. Working on something like this versus a total clapped out rust bucket or something with bolts stuck stripped broken is soooo much better but it's still a TON of work. We brought 8 boxes of "stuff" with the car out of the garage so just the time in sorting and figuring out what we have/need is daunting. It's funny when you look at the finances of a shop, you make far more money on turning small little brake and suspension jobs all day than you do on the big stuff. Killing a lift or spot in a garage for a month+ is big time money as it can't be used on the daily stuff. However seeing something like this come together and knowing it's been his dream car since before he had his license is pretty damn awesome. Even his wife is getting excited just seeing things starting to move forward.
  8. Typically speaking, and this is without seeing the car of course, you are usually looking at a standard full service alignment which is 99.00. If you have some specific geometry you are looking for we can incorporate that as well. Anything where we are talking modification of parts, broken/rusty/annoying things are all handled on a case by case and done on the CR modified labor rate. Long and short of it is, if it's just some basic make it go straight kind of stuff, you are looking at 99.00 plus tax

    Hello

Well it's nice to see a race car being used for something aside from destroying cones! Definitely looks like a fun time, may have to squeeze one of these events into my 2016 calendar! Welcome aboard!
  10. Unfortunately as is common with these sorts of things the project got started and blown apart then the time to put it back together never showed up. Takes far more time to build one than it does to tear it down. Which is what we are here for!
  11. Remember when you were 15 years old and had a dream car? Well for a customer of ours that car was an old '66 Mustang coupe he saw languishing on the back lot of a local car dealership. Taken in as part of a trade on a new vehicle by the previous owner somehow it slipped through the cracks for months. With some luck and determination, possibly a bit of quick witted talk, the young dreamer and his father were able to purchase the car at an excellent price and take it home as the boys 1st car. With dreams of a father/son restoration the car began to come apart, plans began to form of what the car would become. Unfortunately as things in this car world often go, life gets in the way, and now torn apart the machine remained in limbo. The dreamer grows up, buys another mustang as a Daily, and joins the Navy. Fast forward nearly 15 years and our dreamer is out of the Navy, however his prized Mustang is still in 1000 pieces across the garage and in boxes stored all over. Driving by our shop one day he notices the constant stream of classics and old muscle cars that are in and out of our facility, eventually deciding to stop by and have a conversation. Over the next few days we stay in communication over the car, learn the back story and the future vision, this dreamers ride needs to come together! And so, after several trips to load and tow the vehicle plus all the boxes of parts to our facility it sits here on our shop floor. With all original body work and floorpans we have a solid base to build from, and build it exactly to how our dreamer wants it. The parts collection process begins! Our next ground up build, a '66 Mustang Coupe. http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160202_111229_zpseisjll3u.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160202_111208_zpsioen8lr1.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160202_111203_zpsq2ra32sx.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160202_111220_zpshaurg9ip.jpg http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/20160202_111216_zps2dgup2gn.jpg
  12. Yes sir that's us We are in Plain City 7245 Industrial Parkway Plain City, 43064 Essentially just past Dublin, hit the Post Rd exit do the roundies and you are here You would be hard pressed to find a better alignment wizard than Rich (owner of the shop) who would be doing your alignment. Get it all together and get it to us we'll make ya happy.
  13. Other than DDing what are you expecting to be a facing? Old school 4Runners you will see EVERYWHERE out there, they are great from parking lots to trail riding and everything in between. My 97 SR5 was purchased as a beater truck 5 years ago and with very little wrenching time has been an outstanding machine, only thing you really need to look at with them is the notorious frame rot. Another suggestion if you enjoy the features and fun of an STi is the Forester XTs, most of the fun with far more ground clearance, the turbo 2.5 EJs can be plenty for not a ton of money, and I'm not at all biased because I drive both of these suggestions P.S. Winter tires DO make a ton of difference, you also have a completely different degree of road maintenance out there. Not like OHio where with a half inch of slow half the city shuts down and people are screaming about plows and salt.
  14. If this is something other CR members are interested in definitely let me know, we have a tank we use for our shop builds and such but otherwise don't advertise ourselves for "machine shop" services. However, for CR we'll make an exception.
  15. If you have a camera with you it's not illegal, it's "Art"
  16. Get in touch Eric I'm sure I can help you out.
  17. They can't build it because they don't want to take the thunder from a re-emerging Cadillac and don't want to build a car that's in competition with the CT6? Are you kidding me? You won't build this! http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/2016-buick-concept-avista-landing-page-image-05-938x528-022_zpsqis4aocy.jpg Because you are worried it will steal thunder/customers from THIS!? http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b452/LucoreRacing/635892915989128751-ct6_zpsl4kkb2ea.jpg
  18. DAMN YOU GM!! That thing was even sexier in person than in photos online...and now! http://jalopnik.com/buick-wont-make-the-avenir-concept-because-its-busy-doi-1754877693

    Go Fund Me

    Stupid spreads fast these days
  20. Well the most recent big stink about why it was going away was during the union negotiations the plant where the Vipers are currently built is not given any staffing/tasking/funding which everyone has taken that to mean the Viper is no more. Pair that with the lack of sales and the massive price drops they are using to get these current ones out the door.. well the writing seems to be on the wall for the slithery thing. However just the other day FCA boss man let slip a couple hints that it may not be as dead as we thought.. http://www.motortrend.com/news/fca-ceo-sergio-marchionne-hints-new-dodge-viper-is-possible/
  21. There's rumblings also in the Viper world apparently that the next gen Viper, which is apparently not totally dead, won't be a "stand alone platform" which means it will share unpinning with something else... hmm... so are we reading between the lines that the next viper will be a ViperCat?
  22. What you can't drive your CC&C car in the winter? +1 for Subaru!
  23. As a firm believer of turbo things I completely agree with you, there were some steps that had they been recognized and followed up on could have lead GM into making some truly fantastic fun rides. Instead of all the stuff we saw through the late 80s and 90s that were definitely terrible. Turbos on carb'd cars were around, they just weren't something that worked very well and needed constant supervision. Once we realized we could monitor and modify things through electronic brains it opened up a lot of options. On the non-GM side we also saw the birth of the SVO mustang in the states which was a turbo 4 that could out run damn near any domestic V8 with a little bit of massaging. Intercooled low compression forged internals fuel injected all but together in a tried and true ford 2.3 that had been around powering all sorts of things just like the 3.8 from GM. However unlike GM, the Oval boys spun that power into several different cars over a number of years to some very sizable success. Following on those heels were things like the turbo probes which though largely mazda applied a lot of the same lessons. Now we've come into the modern world where turbos are becoming more and more popular for the same power out of smaller more efficient motors. Ford with all their various EcoBoosts and GM with all sorts of various cars across their lines, even the new Camaro with a turbo option. Unfortunately the lessons of the old 3.8 V6 didnt' really come forward into the future... I promise you if you take a look under the hood of a modern mustang with the 2.3 turbo, it's unmistakable where the genes come from.
  24. Pointing out the window and giggling at us non-cool-kids shivering in the cold? Likely!!
