Definitely going to be an interesting project. It's just at that right cusp of old school/computerized. Chris and I are already talking, the community for these cars is pretty tight and oddly very Ohio based. There is a LOT of potential in the platform, only limits are time and money

Picked it up early last year, plans are to rebuild and race. When purchased she barely ran having sat for nearly 2 years. The previous owner had worked on it several times but never managed to get it running properly. Cordell that's exactly what I'm worried about. We are a big portion of the community and I want to make sure the majority of us can make it. Sounds like we need to bump it back yet another week and shoot for the May 4th slot. Anyone who's planning on attending please chime in before I switch the date.

Alrighty so from the feedback I'm getting it might not be in our best interest to host this on the 27th, the 20th won't work as it's Easter and people have life responsibilities. Obviously I would really like a strong showing from the CR crowd and nothing with the vendors/providers has been set in stone, flyers have not yet been sent to press! Is there a huge event on the 4th of May that anyone knows about? I can easily switch things around at this point and with IFO being such a big deal I don't want to make this any more complicated. Thoughts?

Well damn...we looked at doing it April 20th but that's 4/20....AND Easter..don't want to push the date back any further but at this point we would be looking at first weekend in May if we went back further. Really want to see a solid turn out from the CR crew...how many people will be unable to attend due to IFO?

Looks like we've got some warm weather finally, go go car cleaning sales! On a day like today definitely makes me wish I was working on my ride and not at work! First show of the season is....when?

AKA built off the same chassis? No turbo no AWD no crazy wide tires = pickup truck with body kit

First time I ever got in it I was pretty disappointed to see it was an auto but trust me there's not much you are missing. Definitely not a slush box even stock it shifts pretty hard and fast. And of course there's always shift kits and such to make it even more so. Two foot break boosting while driving is kinda nifty also

It's a constant battle on to mod or not to mod. There's so much potential out of the thing with just a few basic bolt-ons you constantly have the itch. However as Mr. Gump mentioned you are constantly worried about breaking something whenever you trash on it. Unfortunately/Fortunately a vast majority of the trucks have been heavily modified over the years, stripped down into drag trucks, or have 100k+ miles on them. So every year there are fewer and fewer of them. Saw one last year while out doing a lap that all the body cladding was beaten up, doors dented, came flying by with exhaust screaming... *pours one for those we have lost*

They are fun to drive even stock as the come from the factory. You constantly have people confusing it with just a body kit on an S10 or Sonoma which is rather annoying. Searching through Youtube you can find all sorts of crazy builds for these things, every one that gets hacked up and turned into a race beast means one less valuable super rare car I AM glad to see he stuck with the stock v6, from the quick look at the engine bay though that looks about the only thing he didn't replace. Makes me wonder how much of that stuff was needed though for a hill climb truck....they have MASSIVE potential just from the factory.

I did the seafoam soak on my Mustang injectors when I blew a Intake Manifold last year definitely helped. Of all the "Snake Oils" it's the one I trust and use the most. Loving the build so far, looking forward to seeing this at Auto-X this year with MY undercover project as well

Anyone know of a show for the 19th-20th weekend? Trying to set plans in motion for the Spring Advance Auto Parts carshow... Anyone who came last year have constructive thoughts to improve this years?

I haven't been to anything IFO or the like in a LONG time, what's the typical feel like there now? Back when the Stealth was my fun car and East Side Hooters was still a place to be those were some fun events. Do they go on into the evening as an event any more or is it more or less done once the show closes?

It's about time to start cleaning the rides, blacking the tires, and retyping the Car Resume so we can speak to what all has been done in the off season...what shows are we all looking forward to? Obviously there are the big boys out there like Good Guys but what others are we most looking forward to?

So sad, got a half day today and off all day Sunday and what do I get? Mid 50s and raining all weekend Board tuned up waxed ready to go, snow gear cleaned and not smelling like funk, ice cold 4 Lokos ready for the journey and no where to go...put off the fun for another week I guess.

My Conti Extreeeeme contact on the Mustang have lasted me years of hard driving/stopping/driving like a mustang owner. They probably have 30k on them now and are being replaced in the spring. Obviously performance tires aren't milage tires and that Saab being your DD make sure to keep that in mind.

Wouldn't happen to want one or two would ya?
