It appears I'll be needing an 'AOS' Air Oil Separator, which is fancy for .. fuckin' Oil fill thingie. http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/attachments/944-turbo-and-turbo-s-forum/737868d1371832965-aos-differences-951-aos-11.jpg Anybody got one?

Fine deal on the focal passive units. Just about any 3-way passive crossover will do. http://www.parts-express.com/cat/assembled-passive-crossovers/308 if you feel extra cheap/adventurous or are selective.

I don't wrap cars, this is just a hobby. If you're gonna do a matte wrap, you'll want a proper wrapping-cast vinyl, (it's really PVC nowadays, but we call it vinyl anyway) and a guarantee. Inexpensive vinyl is not dimensionally stable (it shrinks / stretches) You just said 'good ebay stuff' Ant you're pimmed. My cell is in the above post though

Comments/opinions on a 2001 Audi all road avant
cybe replied to Rustlestiltskin's topic in Passing Lane
Echo above - * Timing * Turbo * Waterpump * Suspension * Double check the electrics Control arms super common failure on this chassis. With deleted Air Suspension, value it as an A6 avant instead of an Allroad. Damn shame, really. Is it a green paint one with black wheels or the black one? (Mine's flat green dip with black wheels) -
Okay, so here's my timing arrangement now: http://i.imgur.com/Et3pMhm.jpg?1 And I found a belt that works for the alternator w/ AC delete: http://i.imgur.com/xWTAugV.jpg?1 Buttoned up. http://i.imgur.com/cyc5PGS.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/kctMn3k.jpg?1 Lookin' good. Next up, * Clutch fork bearings - still working on getting the old ones out. * Check valve for brake booster * Install motor?

The SB is a pretty nice mechanical mod! I've been eyeballing those too. What tank are you using with it?

Mod: Personally, I think the mod is a pain in the ass. It's heavy. People notice it. I use it at home instead - the tinkering aspect and build quality are a big draws, but not when you're just trying to get a fix. It's a big chunk of steel, good for self defense. Ego: Size of a black and mild, light enough to carry in a shirt pocket. All-day battery life. If I break one, not a bankbuster. They charge via USB. Can use tanks, carts, clearos, drippers, whatever delivery system you want. My preference. eCigs: Even the expensive cig-a-likes are pretty low end. They're small batteries, junk juice, expensive small cartridges and the delivery system is cotton-soaked filler. Smoking that filler when it runs dry. Gross.

Reason the 360 and PS3 have been around so long? The hardware is more advanced than the development. Is somebody out there writing some hardware-hungry game that just can't run on a pathetic-ass PS3/360? I hope so - but not that I'm aware of. Content, Input, Engine, Display, Power. In order of importance.

We'll have to agree to disagree, but here's some information. I may still be dosing nicotine, but I'm not inhaling a bunch of burning shit. To me, that's what smoking means - inhaling burning shit. Not inhaling burning shit is most certainly better. Hope you're not in my jury! The only negative side-effect I'm aware of is dehydration. The e-cig juice is just artificial flavoring in a glycerine suspension. That's in every packaged foor or drink you consume on a daily basis. (And those foods include preservatives, color additives, and other stuff you won't find in the juice) There was some controversy regarding diacetl, a flavor component that is used in bready / wheaty flavors because of a case involving long term factory worker exposure. That ingredient is no longer used in ecig liquid, 'just in case.' /soapbox -- I'm all for it No rain in this parade, I've skipped about 600 cigs so far!

Relevant; Quit smoking (pack and a half a day, 15 years) about 20 days ago. Realized I've smoked on the order of 150,000 cigarettes. I've been using a (big-ass) e-cig. Shitworks, man.jpg altsmoke.com is local (high / hudson) and buckeye vapors (grove city, haven't been yet) Now I smell like peaches instead of ashy hot garbage juice. Worth a try. Bet the hookahs are similar.

Continuing on Birthday yesterday, so I took the week off and spent some time in the garage. * Question about the rear offset still stands. But I think I know the answer - I'm gonna have to re-barrel these wheels to make them fit. So here's the state of things today - the garage is a disaster from me moving the wheels around and jumping from task to task. You can see the 'flipped face' wheel I test fit. No bueno. http://i.imgur.com/FQ59p8v.jpg?2 So, I swapped in some fresh motor mounts and cleaned up the cross-member. Here's old and new: http://i.imgur.com/RLL52Fa.jpg?1 I also switched the old steering rack for a remanufactured unit, photos below (And above, I guess - forgot I posted that.) Bushings/mounts. The piece of shrapnel in the center is part of the old mounts, they were toast. http://i.imgur.com/1Wk6dWd.jpg?2 Rack is installed. Forgot to re-attach the steering knuckle. Derp. http://i.imgur.com/i54zbUP.jpg?1 The powerplant is growing! I tacked on some fittings, mounts, odds-and-ends. Installed the rebuilt power steering pump and alternator: http://i.imgur.com/FAsqaHx.jpg?2 http://i.imgur.com/WE2aieV.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/2G9C2Ix.jpg?1 But had trouble with the 5PK836 belt. It's just too short - I read on 944Spec that it's the proper size to delete the AC compressor - but that size apparently is for Early 944. I ordered a longer replacement which might work.. http://i.imgur.com/fBOdjvq.jpg?2 I also swapped out the clutch master and slave. Fun job, that. I'm 6'6". Standing on my head for long enough to figure out that blasted clip was not my favorite job to date. http://i.imgur.com/FKvrnko.jpg?2 Probably .. not supposed to look like this when it's disconnected? http://i.imgur.com/6lLNBhg.jpg?2 I have the brake booster out now for a freshening up and replacement check valve (old one's cracked) I got a tip earlier about the alignment of my timing adjusters and rollers - which I really appreciate! I haven't taken care of that yet, but it's on the list. Pardon the disorganized post - just jotting this all down before I forget. Birthday party tonight, so I tried to tidy up the garage a bit: [pic to follow]

Nah, it's just that the lip and barrel are the same depth (so flipping face = same offset result) They are truly 'halves' of the wheel. ET is super low though. I suspect it's too much loot to pay for re-barreling, but I'd make them 16"s if I did spend it.

Pleasant Heating and Cooling (friend of family) quoted me $3800 installed for Carrier brand Furnace & AC complete replacement.

^This weekend, I started to swap the funky steering rack for a reman unit, but the tie-rod ends were shot. http://i.imgur.com/K5OwFFS.jpg?3 ^While I was in there (theme for the build..) I did the motor mounts as well. http://i.imgur.com/uxihqht.jpg?1 ^And cleaned up the oil pan, which was pretty gunked. http://i.imgur.com/d2e5Kd8.jpg?1 ^So.. I flipped a face on one of the wheels, and guess what .. the offset was the same. (duh.) I've heard some 944 have spacers in the rear that can be removed to fit deeper wheels, is this true? Is early offset even wider (hub-to-hub) or more narrow? ^ Open to any ideas. I really want to go to 944Fest, but have a wedding to attend that weekend. ^Next year I hope

should only flip beef once. ^ nailed it

That press room is a total disaster area. Hope the P-tools I need are still there. http://i.imgur.com/c1n03EE.jpg?1 That's exactly why in the picture above every single one of my tensioners has been adjusted in the wrong direction! At least somebody caught it before I assumed they were good
