  1. Free event at norwalk June 6-7 http://www.summitracing.com/expertadviceandnews/calendar/upcoming/2015-super-summit Anyone going?
  2. I FIXED THINGS I FIXED THINGS! After nearly two years of running around on blown out header gaskets... I finally bought some MLS gaskets (victor reinz MLS) These are the ones that came with the headers I bought... everyone told me to buy MLS or use RTV and I didn't listen. http://41.media.tumblr.com/2f9c87630b22089482c6e666dddeb640/tumblr_noprobJ9Ek1suerqbo1_500.jpg No sooner than I started the truck up after tightening the collectors down the CEL came on with a P0332 code... Damn knock sensors. So I got those replaced Friday and got the chance to clean up 16 years worth of road slime. http://41.media.tumblr.com/fa2e89cd58e4d51752cd9bd5e4dd2a7f/tumblr_nou8sb9lc71suerqbo1_500.jpg http://41.media.tumblr.com/31de8516182275d4694f4ee125393738/tumblr_nou8sb9lc71suerqbo2_500.jpg http://41.media.tumblr.com/24b8964f1cddf6cc0fe805ac724c52ba/tumblr_nou8sb9lc71suerqbo3_500.jpg The amount of carbon in the intake and heads was a bit disturbing... but I just chalked it up to the EGR that was hooked up for 180k But after I got those sensors replaced the truck runs PERFECTLY.. Fuel trims are no longer pegging at +24 at idle and are holding steady at 0.0 to +0.8 and the timing advance has increased by about 12 deg Before the new gaskets and sensors http://36.media.tumblr.com/616afdf7c2949d805fb5ec51b8957ba7/tumblr_nnu4g9NwZG1suerqbo1_500.png AFTER gaskets and sensors http://40.media.tumblr.com/5dacae3551a6bbd9a843cc309ed2f8c8/tumblr_noxw0zvTx11suerqbo1_500.png idle is incredibly smooth.... not quite as smooth as my dads '05 silverado but I do have poly engine mounts not rubber. Throttle response is great and power output feels as though it has increased.... I'm currently researching aerodynamics for a few things some people might not approve of... but will, if done correctly be very beneficial for power and handling
  3. I'd buy a modded car so long as it didn't look like a hack-job if the wiring was clean and everything was nice looking and in order that means the person probably actually took the time to do things right and didn't just throw crap together. in other words.... DO NOT buy something that looks like my truck.
  4. I'm replacing knock sensors..... shouldn't take long to pull the intake and put it back on. Might be out tonight.
  5. Thanks for the offer and yes the trucks use the one piece gaskets, but I was able to get the stuff I needed from a friend coming into town today.. Mod, go ahead and lock the thread.
  6. anyone have spare cathedral port intake manifold gaskets and knock sensors that screw into the valley cover? Don't care if they are new or used just as long as the will work. Can't afford parts store prices and can't have my only transportation down while I wait for parts to come from Amazon Not asking for freebies, don't have a problem paying for the parts.. just need a cheap immediate bandaid.
  7. I'm going Sunday with a buddy from Troy. Maybe I can find a LS6 intake really cheap or power door panels.
  8. Wraps and dip are one thing and can (if done correctly) look halfway decent. but the rust, blackboard paint, stickers, zip-ties holding body panels on, putting giant band-aid stickers on crushed body panels, etc. are just untasteful. like some of the crap they do on MCM.. It's all for "show" these days because everyone wants a race car apparently.
  9. There is a certain kind of respect that goes into build a "rat rod" as they are engineered and built...sorta. These......pieces of crap are just that, pieces of crap "Oh I wrecked my car" NO WORRIES, Just sticker bomb that fender and sand the paint off the hood and call it custom. Don't forget the race car zip-tie stitches. Like that douchebag host/owner of gas monkey garage/Fast and loud. buys car for nothing, paints over the rust and profit...
  10. All I know is that when my dad switched over to methanol he used the same -8 or -10an line he was using with CAMII and just upgraded to a huge Aeromotive fuel pump and filter. If I recall it was just the plain rubber Jegs braided line. only problem he ever had was the foam in the fuel cell disintegrated and clogged the filter.
  11. They are a full service yard.
  12. I just got off work... Weather permitting, anyone going up tomorrow night?
  13. Pretty sure U Part It has at least two talons....
  14. Bluetooth is slow for reading pids scantool sx is USB and gets a lot faster rx/tx WiFi option is almost as good, stay away from the cheap Chinese elm327 adapters too On that 10hz gps thing go to newegg or somewhere buy a USB 10hz gps adapter and tadaaa those are only like $99 plus 20 or so for a obdII adapter and whatever a tablet would cost you.... Or just root it and use your phone. :lolguy: cheaper than a vbox
  15. I'm out at qsl with my mom, girlfriend and a mustang driver if anyone wants to get out early were outside t the bar
  16. Doesn't even look cool... WTF?!
  17. 90% likely to go out to QSL 100% likely to be at sonic Drive the Colorado... I've not seen that one yet..
  18. My current car is still my first car Though... as far as I know my dad's old Trans-am is sitting in someone's storage rotting away to nothing since the guy only raced it a few times after buying it and tearing a lot of shit up. I actually really miss that car
  19. Dad always like Kil-kare more than Pacemakers and Trails Saturday up at polaris someone told me to take my truck to marion since their rtech is a joke lol.
  20. Thinking about posting this up on instagram, but not sure if I should... I'm assuming you'll be out, but what are you driving this weekend?
  21. http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5wku4jXpt1qjwp1yo1_400.gif Sweet mother of god.
  22. Saw this a few years ago somewhere and I'm in that paranoid group, don't really want 8 quarts of oil being dumped out going down the road. Would make oil changes hella easy for me... since the H3 pan when I pull the plug kinda spews oil on to the lower control arm... probably wouldn't even need to jack my truck up.
