That's what we're thinking. It's taken a few days to accept that's probably what it is, and he's reluctant to pull the head without being more confident in the diagnosis.
Compression on 2 - 4 are great. I don't remember the numbers but they were good.
No compression means head needs to come off regardless.

Whats compression on #3 like?

Could be a Malibu, I just got a quick description of the problem. I know it's a 4 cylinder. Confusing that when we put air to it with number 1 TDC that the pressure comes out number 3 combustion chamber. Nothing on number 2, nothing noticable coming out the throttle body, the crank case or the exhaust.
Could the exhaust manifold create enough back pressure that if number 1 has a leaking exhaust valve that there would be noticeable air flow on 3 if that exhaust valve happens to be open? If it was one the intake side then I assume there would be more noticeable flow coming out the throttle body than the number 3 combustion chamber.
I suppose it could be possible. But if cylinder 1 is already down on compression, I wouldn't even waste my time trying to figure out the #3 deal. Just find a used/reman engine and swap in.
I guess if its a school, pull valve cover and see if its still in time.

3.6 V6 was the only engine in 2012, Unless you mean malibu and not impala.
Doesn't sound familiar, but I've seen the 2.5/2.0 malibu crack pistons and 3.6 impalas have cam/valve train issues.
EDIT: 2012 malibu would be 2.4 or 3.6, not the engines I mentioned above.

Here's one for ya, Kerry. You're by far the most smug person on this forum. You patronize members on here and spout off like you're some all-knowing entity and that your opinions are facts based on your own personal beliefs. Maybe you're not as smug in person, but you sir, come across as an asshole.

I enjoy most of his videos, but I disagree with some of his arguments.
In for Geeto's comments.

i ended up replacing the mount with the diff and exhaust manifold still in place, it wasnt too bad. a bit tight but overall not that bad. i did remove the inner fender cover which helped out a lot. i worked the crap out of that motor mount heat shield, glad its so pliable lol. once i had all the bolts out, i was able to turn the mount enough so that i could access the nuts on the back that hold the heat shield and mount bracket. then i took it out in 3 pieces.
so far the hardest part of this whole thing has been removing the manifold to cat nuts, those were a mother fucker. only one of them came off willingly, the other two completely stripped out and one of those two had welded itself to the stud, an irwin nut extractor didnt even work. i managed to get my angle grinder in there to cut the nut off, i cut that damn thing in 2 places completely through to the stud and it still wouldnt budge.
That's pretty common. I just had to put a cam in a 2013 yukon. Had to heat the downpipe nuts red hot to get them loose.

seems like it, i have been doing some research and gm recommends dropping the diff....fuck that lol. when i pull the exhaust manifold to extract the broken bolts i think ill have enough room to slide it out with out to much struggle
Don't let the diff discoruage you. You can have it out in 5-10 minutes. Front driveshaft bolts, 4 mount bolts, 6 axle bolts on each side, unhook electrical connector and vent hose.

Call Greg Was at Pace Performance. His prices are usually pretty good on GM stuff.

Trump voters your President couldn't pass his "Obamacare" replacement.
How do you feel now that "Obamacare" is staying in place?
I didn't vote based on the healthcare aspect, so I don't care at all.

I am looking for opinions on Red Dots for the AR I just built. $200 is about the top of my budget. I have been looking at Vortex StrikeFireII's.
If you have an opinion with something other than a red dot that is a 2x or 4x I am willing to look into that too. I just spent 700ish building the gun. I dont wan to buy a $20 walmart scope/red dot.
I bought a strikefire II and a sparc AR. I love the strikefire, the Sparc is just too small for my liking.

We'd just cut an access hole, remove old nut and bolt, weld new nut, weld hole closed.

What does "had 2nd gear done" if its an auto?

I have been pulled over and my car searched (ransacked actually) in Texas for no reason. Just had out of state plates.
That was a while ago but I bet they still used unmarked cars.
That's happened to a friend of mine in several states. He drives his cars with MI plates, but works all over the US. Got so bad that he added several cameras to his car along with police style radar system. He took Indiana to court over illegal search/s and won.

CB radio, Radar detector, Waze app, Police scanner. All work well if you plan to be above the speed limit. I run all of them except a scanner on road trips, no tickets yet (knock on wood).

That's a hell of a transformation. This is the last time I saw it

I have, I was wondering because you don't see too many cars like that out here.
There's quite a few CR members that live out this way, I'd like to set something up when spring hits.
Sounds like a plan

I live just outside of White Cottage and am in Zanesville almost every day.
It's similar in color to your firebird. If you've seen a G8 that color in Muskingum county, its most likely me.

What color is your G8? I may have seen you around town.
Bluish-greenish. I live and work in zanesville. Haven't been to Columbus in it for a couple months.

Danny's radiator and Wolfe Radiator here in Zanesville do good work.

that ship has sailed my friend, whether you like it or not you are arguing. Idiots worry about being right or wrong, intelligent people are more concerned with how supportable their position is and in the areas where there is room of interpretation is it consistent with their integrity and values. You should invest more time in developing your case and supporting your position because right now your argument that "Obama was worse" and wasn't held accountable is weak as wet toilet paper. but keep trying buddy, you'll get there.
Impressing you or proving my point to you is lower on my list than volunteering to work at a sewer treatment plant.

Well, the new CEO has been in town since Friday getting a lay of the land.
Realistically we could have 3 of the top tracks in the country here in Ohio VERY soon.
What's the 3rd? Quaker or Norwalk?
Upcoming Dyno Days?
