  1. SVT Adrenaline when it comes out!
  2. I played CS (original mod based on HL) a while ago. I've been looking for a good game to take the place of Unreal Tournament/Quake2/CS for a while.
  3. We went on our first cruise (Carnival) August of 2004 and had a great time. Having the events organized gave us something to do besides sit around all day. You have free time if you want it - no one makes you do anything. We had a great time!
  4. Nothing to be confused about - the primary idiot is the guy the in the 3kGT/Stealth. The secondary (who seemed to be following him) is some clown in a SLK320, who I saw again Friday night. Apparently his (SLK320) normal mode of driving is just 'retarded'. As far as cutting him off to stop him - we both ended up on the exit to get onto Georgesville road. Him in the right lane to go right, me in the left lane to go left. Traffic was stopped for the light, so I was able to chew him out.
  5. Stop driving like an asshole before you kill someone. This happened around 6:30pm on Wednesday. Background: I'm on my way home from work in the right lane driving my beater, not Cobra or the bike, coming down the west outerbelt just south of the West Broad street exit when this white Stealth/3000GT blows by me ON THE RIGHT HAND SHOULDER doing every bit of 100mph. There was plenty of room to go around in the middle lane, but this jackass feels like he needs to do this shit on the shoulder. He gets off at the Georgesville exit, conveniently enough where I have to get off to head home. I pull up next to him and start throwing every word I could think of at him - this FAG doesn't even look over. Too scared, I suppose. I was SOOOOO tempted to cut him off and get out, but it isn't worth going to jail over. He had a TV in the passenger seat, and I think he was being followed by his boyfriend in a white hard-top Mercedes SLK230 or SLK320 or whatever-the-fuck that car is. I happened to see this clown in the Benz on my way home tonight, driving like a fruitcake (cutting off other drivers, weaving, etc), and then saw his car at the Wendy's later on. Damn good thing I had my 6 year-old with me at time. The MB has some bling-bling black rims with silver lips on them that are about a size to big. If anyone knows either of these jackasses, tell them to chill the fuck out. I already have the Mercedes' license-plates. Also, if you're going to dress up your car distinctively, you're just making it easier for people to remember your sorry-ass when they do see you acting normal, which is to say: dumb-assidly. That is all. I feel better now.
  6. Sounds like a good learner to me. Let me know when you are ready to get rid of it - I might be interested.
  7. I'm sorry. (j/k). Nice looking two-wheeler. I'll bet it looks even nicer in person.
  8. If you have the clutch lever pulled in, no matter what gear the bike is in, the rear wheel should spin freely. If it does not, the first thing I would do is check the adjustment on your clutch cable.
  9. Exactly. But Bikes and Mustangs never race, to prevent such an occurence. If you ever hear of such a race, it cannot be true. The fact that the originator is around to tell it is proof that it is a lie.
  10. Figured I would head down that way since it may be one of the last times I can get down there. I would be hitting 555, 78, and 377, and maybe some other roads. Thinking about leaving around 11am Anyone interested?
  11. Of course you can't beat bikes. It is an established law of the universe that Bikes and Mustangs can never lose. Wasn't me though.
  12. It is thanks to FDR that we have all of these 'wonderful social programs'. I'll pass. Frankly, anyone worth his salt could have rallied the American people during World War II; for one thing, the people had a different mentality back then - that changed in the 60s with Vietnam. For another, we were fighting an easily identifiable enemy with definite boundaries, by the fact that they spoke german/italian or looked japanese and had a 'home country'. WWII was not a war fought by politicians but by soldiers, and it was handled thusly, with none of the ridiculous 'political sensitivities' under which we currently conduct 'engagements.' Remember, in following wars we were (and are) fighting both WITH and against people that look and sound the same. It makes identifying the 'bad guy' a lot more difficult.
  13. Sure, cause if you put their bodies there, the would be incinerated and take up very little space.
  14. I believe the author means that the funding for welfare is 'stolen wealth'. My opinion is that this statement is correct in that the federal government was given no authority tax and then to redistribute the taxes arbitrarily as it is a violation of Article 1, Section 8. Welfare/federal subsidies to the poor (or any 'group' based on socio-economic, gender, or race) is beyond the scope of powers granted to the Federal government in the US Constitution which defines a limited federal government of enumerated powers. The Congress has the power to tax for the General Welfare, but the meaning of 'General Welfare' of the United States has been broadend beyond it's intended meaning (as revealed in the views of Hamilton and Jefferson when commenting on this clause, and the clause itself). Of course, the Supreme Court has gotten so far away from reading the Constitution, thereby enabling Congress to pass whatever law it deems fit. Regardless, 'General Welfare' was never intended to mean 'taking money from the haves to give to have nots', but more for 'promoting the welfare of the whole' - hence construction of roads, waterways, laws to establish a common commerce infrastructure (currency), etc. Really, the next few lines of that section establish what was generally meant by 'General Welfare' - notice the absence of 'giving money to people who can't/won't work for it'? So, in a sense, the government is stealing.
  15. I was considering heading down to the mcconnellsville area on Sunday.
  16. More specs - what model, how old, used/new, etc.
  17. It's not OPEC this time. The price of crude itself hasn't gone up, it's the refineries (read oil companies that sell gasoline) that are making a TON of money of this. Be nice if they turn around and donate it, but they also have some rather large problems themselves to repair. I'm sure we'll see their profits are WAY up regardless of how much damage they have sustained, though. It's below 3.00 now - 2.99, but hey, that's less than 3.00!
  18. Most of that 90K square miles is lightly populated. N.O and Biloxi are the two most heavily populated areas. The problems are in New Orleans, not in the rest of the areas. Look at the numbers here in Ohio - the state might be big and there might be 8 million people in it, but 6 million of those people are concentrated in small areas. This is not a 'troop number' problem. From the outside looking in, it's more of a 'tactical' problem. Once again - this really comes back to a 'you have to prepare yourself' issue. Stop depending on the government to nanny you and take some responsibility.
  19. BUZZZZZZ, There were ~18,000 troops in the region on Wednesday. After the hurricane initially left N.O, everyone thought they had gotten away lucky. At that point, the troops in-region were more than enough. The levees broke on August 30th (Tuesday, the next day). Then all hell really broke loose. Regardless, there are more than enough NG troops to handle this. Things went from 'sorta bad' to shitty in a god awful hurry. Further, the state has the capability to mobilize the guard beforehand. Alabama did - wonder why Louisiana didn't have enough guys prepared? Don't try and use anti-war rhetoric to pin this on Bush. It ain't true.
  20. Any idea where you are headed and what time? I might be able to get free for a short period (the wife).
  21. This is what happens when you depend on the government to 'do for you' and don't take responsibility for yourself and your safety. There are some people that couldn't get out - walking out isn't an option - you are safer staying indoors then trying to walk two days out and facing a hurricane of that size out in the open, but you HAVE to prepare yourself for the aftermath. Worse, the City of New Orleans appeared to have no plan in place to help those people that couldn't leave. Surely they were aware that there are a lot of people that would have a difficult time getting far away in two days time. Why weren't they better prepared? Isn't that one of the jobs of a mayor and one of the jobs of the state government? Mayor Nagin is a joke - all he did was whine. One survivor indicated they were told to go to the convention center (where Nagin was), and when he got there, there was no one to tell them what to do. Two things are wrong with this: 1) You should have a plan - when the shit hits the fan, it's every man for himself, especially when law and order break down 2) The mayor was there -why wasn't he providing leadership? It's a terrible tragedy and it's terrible that the rest of the world gets to see the worst side of Americans come out. I don't recall big problems like this happening after the Tsunami. Maybe because those people know how to 'do for themselves' more than we do.
  22. I have a Nokia 6800 that is unlocked. I believe once unlocked it will work with Verizon. http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,4486,00.html
  23. +1 to Germany. Too bad we've had a rocky relationship with the recently; it's obvious that they haven't forgotten what happened. The UK was out in front offering aid, too. Nice to have friends you can count on when the shit hits the fan.
  24. +1. I had no problems either. Check out http://www.xbox-scene.com - they have a lot of info there, especially in the forums. I had to buy MechAssault so I could apply the hack, but I have an XBox 1.3 - it may not be possible with the newer XBox models.
