Was this an attempt to lower the compression so you can turbocharge it? Ouch.

Put my 03 tank in this weekend so now I have my old tank sitting about. $50 OBO.
-
I managed to break the check-valve off of the end of mine during tank removal, so I need a new neck. Anyone have one they want to part with? It is the same part on GTs and Cobras.

Beats taping over the speedometer. You probably don't want to look down at 170 and go "I'm coming up to this turn at HOW FAST!"
-
This is correct - to watch different channels on different tvs, you will need one tuner per TV. Analog cable allows each tv to tune in without anything special, but digital cable also requires a set top box for each television. Did you get the DVR? If you didn't, I HIGHLY recommend it. It costs 5 bux more per month but it is so worth it. I was skeptical at first, but I am glad I did it. I don't like watching 'live' TV anymore because I can't skip through the commercials. I prefer to DVR the stuff, go do something else, and watch it later so I don't have to waste time in commercials.

Good article! Thanks for posting.

My mesh jacket with liner and my mesh gloves have done it for me so far and I've ridden to work at 8:30 in high 40 degree weather so far. Now when it gets into the low 40s, I'll switch to textile and my leather gloves. Might invest in some heated grips. I would like to ride when there isn't snow/threat of snow.

That is a approximate 12.5% change in gear ratio over the old ratio: old ratio = 40/15 = 2.66 new ratio = 42/14 = 3 Percent difference = (2.66-3)/2.66 = 12.5% To calculate actual speed, multiply your indicated speedoemeter by .875 To calculate how fast your speedometer needs to read to go an actual desired speed, multiply the desired speed by 1.125. Examples: 1) You are doing 100 indicated on your speedo. Your actual speed is 100 * .875 = 87.5 mph = ~88 mph. 2) you want to actually go 45 mph. You speedo would need to read 45 * 1.125 = 50.6 = ~50 mph (rounding down for safety). Of course, bike speedometers read high, so you would still be going slower than you think, but nothing we can do about that. If someone can verify my math, that would be a good idea. This is how I do it in my Cobra since I went from the stock 3.27s to the 4.30s but didn't have my speedometer changed. One more thing to consider though - you odometer is racking up invisible miles because of the error - 1.125 more than actual. So, after 1000 actual miles, your odometer will show you have ridden 1125 miles.

what change did you make to your sprockets? We can figure it out from there.
-
Ben, I think your speedo should be reading high now, not low. So if it says you are doing 80, you might be doing more like 65. So if you go the indicated speed limit, you won't be speeding. Run from the cops, pay attention to how fast you go, then, when they stop you ask them 'what was the fastest you clocked me - I'm trying to find out how much my speedometer error is' [edit]: I assume you dropped teeth on the front or added some to the rear?
-
Not on all bikes. Many read the speed near the sprocket and are hardcoded with a calculation based on RPMs.

We have Dish for TV and I use Roadrunner for my internet. My DISH setup runs us about $65 a month. This is a setup for 3 TVs, with DVRs on two TVs and America's Top 180. That is less than we were paying through Roadrunner for digital cable and as many channels, although quite a few are BS channels (as are Roadrunner's). The DVRD is actually a dual tuner/dual DVR (I think it is the 522). 1 tuner goes to my downstairs TV, the other to the upstairs TV. We have a separate (Dish 301) receiver on the TV in our bedroom. Only the tuner downstairs is plugged into the phone line. The picture quality is about the same. I think TW's digital cable looked better, but their analog channels looked like shit - we watched a lot of the lower channels which were analog, so changing to Dish was an upgrade for the majority of what we watch. I have a HDTV, but I didn't get Dish's HD package, so I can't comment on it. I am looking at getting an off-the-air HD tuner later, since most of what I want to see on HD is over the networks anyhow. As far as the DVRs - we love them. Easy to use, although the 522 seems to have a couple of bugs that have forced me to reset it about 3 times in the last 6 months. However, in all fairness, I had an equal number of problems with the set top box we had with TW. Reliability has been excellent, not quite as good as cable, but we have lost signal twice that I know of during VERY hard storms - the kind where you should probably shut down your TV anyhow. Both outages were very short. The real test will come this winter when it is snowing. I wanted to try something different, and decided on satellite. I am very pleased with Dish thus far after 6 months.

Shit. I'm on call this weekend. Keep us appraised if you are doing it again, though. I would be interested. edit: I might try to make it anyway.

WOW! to that first one. It looks like they were trying to hit the guy on the bike with the car door. Kid got what he deserved if that was the case.

So is this a daytime gig or something after work?

I bought this thinking it was for the PC - didn't notice the Macintosh markings on it, so I can't use it. This is Battlefield 1942 and the Road to Rome expansion pack. It is on DVD-ROM. Paid $10 for it. I'd like to get $10 for it.

It's the radiation. hint: look at his location. I think he is saying he's seen a bunch of guys drop their new bikes...

Who drives the Talon with '1 G POS' as their license plate

I don't believe I've ever meet Kenny. I'll give him a shout next time I see him. -
To get your temps you have to go the the BMV and get the packet (which is $19 bux I think). In it are two papers, the red being your temps, and the blue being what will be filled out when you pass the actual riding test. It should come with a booklet of motorcycle riding and ohio laws. The test will cover these booklets. Learn them and you're golden. It's not hard - in fact, it's stupid easy.

Love the plate. Saw you on Georgesville this morning at the Kroger stoplight. Having a little fun with the AWD in the rain? -
Kyle? What is his screen name. Wonder if that is why corral.net has been jacked up for the last few days.

Sounds like the dude needs pounded. I hope someone finds out who he is. That would really worry me. Give him pepper spray or something that he can use for defense. If someone were following my kids, I would definitely be trying to catch them - once I did...doom on them.

3 or 4.

What version of the XBOX (1.0, 1.2, 1.3, etc), and how is it modded (chip, softmod, etc)? Can it handle games burned to DVD+R?
-
Yes - it could be. But you'll know the difference (when you see it) immediately. Someone who is trail-braking into a corner is probably at near-full lean as well. A newbie rider won't be anywhere near half lean, yet they will still be on the brakes.
