  1. You're kid is taking those classes and camp? ha, my girlfriend is probably coaching him at some point. Camp weeks shes on the ice literally 7-8 hours everyday coaching the little ones. I would love to do something like that but maybe in an assistant coach position. Cole Sherwood visited this week, I think it's normal for some CBJ players to make appearances, hang out and sign stuff. I guess John McConnell was there Friday watching his 9 year old... yeah THAT dude has a fucking 9 year old. His other son is like 28 and plays for a team in D league. dude put it in your pants already. It's good you're starting him off young. Not only for developmental purposes but for roster space. If you're kid was 10 he would have a tough time just finding a spot on a house league team but not b/c of skill level, simply b/c there's not enough ice time to go around for all of the demand and team rosters usually fill up fast. Nobody wants to turn kids away but unfortunately it happens. I think its great when you can share a passion for something with your kid. Doesn't have to be hockey or even sports just anything really. As much as I love the game i don't know if I would push my kid into competitive club travel hockey. But I have a few years to decide that so there's no rush.
  2. So, I forgot to add this to my original post but it needs to be gone as well. Basic Sauder Computer desk. Craigslist price is $50, CR price is $20 !!! Needs to be gone by Sunday, I'm available anytime after 12 noon Saturday. Best way to reach me is via email at rse7en@yahoo CL ad below has a photo. http://columbus.craigslist.org/fuo/5695566344.html
  3. When it comes to kids house league they are actually maxed out. A new rink will have to be built in the next 5 years for sure. There have been rumors of the city being involved but who knows. Ice rinks are expensive to build and maintain and. As for kids equipment, my GF's basement is FULL of hockey gear (mostly goalie gear) that she's accumulated from various sources growing up, she lends that out to kids every season so they can play. That being said, Everyone wants to think their kid is the next athletic savant, that they're gifted. But in reality what is the return on investment with travel club teams? So you pay outrageous amounts of money and more importantly time so you're kid can be a really good rec league player as an adult? MAYBE, just maybe gets a scholarship but in the end you could've paid out of pocket whatever money that scholarship would provide anyway.
  4. I have stumbled home after a few cans of black label and deep dish myself. i think we ended my buddies bachelor party there a few months ago. I'll send you an PM.
  5. WOW, your HOA is actually working for you. I've never heard of one going through that much work to act as a impartial party and work towards a solution.
  6. So I played hockey off/on growing up, as an adult I've played about 11 consecutive years and love it. Sure its just beer league but a part of me has always wondered what my true potential could have been had I had actual coaching and have been on a structured, competitive roster. I never played high school hockey b/c it was way too expensive for my mom so I played inline. But as an adult I've worked on my game as a hobby and gotten to the point now where I can play with and compete against guys who played collegiate club level (NOT varsity, NOT D1-D3, just college club, huge difference) I think if I had some actual training/coaching/guidance I could've played at a higher level, oh well. My GF is a girls travel hockey coach, she played house and travel teams growing up. Played club for OSU in college, traveled to Europe to play some friendly scrimmages over there. She's talented for sure. But the stories she tells me about parents are just dumbfounding. Her program is a mid-tier Double A, they charge around $2000 per kid, the upper tier travel (Ohio AAA Blue Jackets) charge upwards of $5000 per kid/season and that doesn't include travel expenses and of course equipment. Keep in mind, hockey will always be more expensive simply b/c its an expensive sport to play. Ice time always costs money. But to hear of Volleyball programs and soccer programs (sports that generally have a low overhead) charging the same amount if not more is crazy. Where is the cost? does all of that money go to the coach/manager?! insane. I want my kid to play whatever sport they want as long as they put in solid effort. Personally I wouldn't pay the money and the HUGE time commitment to travel club sports unless they were some sort of phenom and there was truly a rare talent there. tl;dr ....... Unless your kid has some rare talent, travel club teams are a waste of money and more importantly time.
  7. Too late to raise the price? New listing is for $699 and I'll even deliver! Seriously though, had an offer for it from another CR member, whoever can pay cash first gets it. I just don't want to have to carry it through another move if I'm not going to ride it. Shoot me an email if interested. rse7en@yahoo.com
  8. Ha, won't be an ex neighbor until Sunday at 5pm which will be a sad time, despite not having a great renting experience I love living in this area. The coffee table is 3'2" by 3'2" so it's sizable though someone has claimed it already. If it were anyone else I would say cash speaks but its my supervisor at work and I told him it was his lol. If he backs out for any reason I'll let you know. It's probably the only thing I don't really want to sell but have to because there's no where to put it in the new place.
  9. Tan, microfiber sectional. Comes in two pieces each about 7'3" long. Comes with two brown throw pillows. One minor stain on the seat of the couch section thanks to a careless friend with a slice of Meisters deep dish pizza. $100 obo Cherry/Brown end table. Great condition. pretty basic but no damage or dings. Drawers are decorative only. $50 obo Coffee table, by far the best furniture investment I've ever made. Converts to a laptop/dinner table while you're on the couch by extending up and towards you, has two drawers for misc. storage and a pop up bin storage for bankets, pillows etc... Minor nicks and dings from moving, this thing is a BEAST and very heavy/well made. I will offer to help you load it to your minivan/truck b/c it is so heavy. $200 OBO Moving this weekend (7/23-7/24) and need this stuff gone. Email is the best way to reach me. All photos can be seen on the CL ad below. I'm negotiable on prices so shoot me an offer. http://columbus.craigslist.org/fuo/5693962681.html
  10. Purchased this bike from another CR member years ago. Rode it for a while then stored it in the extra bedroom and haven't taken it out since. Needs rear brake, also needs a rear tube and the front tire needs inflated. Check the CL ad for pics. http://columbus.craigslist.org/bik/5693908076.html CR price is $50, need it gone by this weekend. PM here but the fastest way to get ahold of me is email rse7en@yahoo.com Thanks.

When I bought my Tacoma I was set to go through Telhio for financing. She gave me "quote" for interest rate but the dealership offered something better (through chase ironically) I went back to Telhio and she said it would be a few hours until she could give me a real answer. I went with chase, a few days later I opened my chase app and my loan was on it, I could see my payment history (up to 12 months anyway), what portion was going toward principal/interest and could make my payment right there, seamless. When I used a CU in the past it was always during business hours, so maybe that's why I never noticed any complication in customer service.

Surprised no one has a positive mention of Chase yet? Checks all of your boxes, ATM's and locations everywhere (in the midwest anyway), website / app have an awesome bill pay system I use for all of my bills. The only fee I've had was an overdraft fee when my apartment complex took my rent the day of instead of the following day (my fault, should've transferred money PRIOR to giving the rent check), despite it being my fault they still waived the overdraft fee. I've always had good face to face customer service in their branches. Chase Quickpay is a lifesaver, can't tell you how many times a friend or my GF share costs then we can split it later on via Quickpay. I probably use quickpay a few times a month for various reasons. Even non-chase customers can use quickpay, if your babysitter sets up an account you can quickpay her instead of cash? That said, they do not offer ATM fee reimbursement, which i didn't even know was a thing. I guess it's not really an issue if you dont travel outside of the midwest a lot. And if I ever need a loan I always start out with Kemba or Telhio first, for me they've usually been better than Chase.
  13. Don't throw dog shit over the fence, as uncivilized as he is coming off keep the issue on topic. He unrightfully damaged your property by connecting his fence. He had no permission from you or the HOA to do so, you did the right thing in making a deadline for it to be fixed or it will be fixed for him, simple. If it were me, I would get the city to come out and mark where your actual property line begins and ends, THEN dismantle whatever fencing is on your side. Most likely he'll blow up and be an asshole. Maybe even call the cops. But when you show them the property line made by the city it won't matter how angry he gets or what he says after that.
  14. Looks cool, i'll check it out for sure.
  15. show premise? I was born in '83.
  16. So if I'm understanding this correctly, they basically built as little fencing as possible in order to build off of yours (assuming to save money?) but your fencing is actually 6inches within your property. I would try and be as cordial and polite as possible, make sure you have the lot lines absolutely correct so you know you're not starting shit over nothing. Then gradually escalate the situation. Worst comes to worst whats on your property can be dealt with by you, cut that shit off and burn it. Personally, I would be livid if they did it after I expressly told them they were not allowed to so I totally agree with you.
  17. Yup, not alot to do but make your own fun really. This place would be great with my hockey team and a few cases of beer but alas I'm here with a half dozen old lawyers, oh well.
  18. That thing is fucking awesome. GF and I were just talking about getting one the other day. Mind if I ask what you paid out the door? it looks new so I'm assuming you purchased new. And where do you go to ride? assuming there are trails and whatnot that I've just never heard of? Awesome toy, does it fit in the back of a standard pickup bed?
  19. BTW, the Gf's parents rented this house. Its fucking amazing, sleeps at least 15, literally right on the beach, with its own pool, movie theater, billiards table. This place has to be north of $10k a week. Thanks folks!
  20. Sorry guys, just got a chance to get online and completely forgot I made this post. We're staying at Corolla, just north of duck. So far every day we wake up i got for a run and sweat my ass off, then beach it for an hour or two, then pool, then dry off and lunch, then a nice long nap. Had some great seafood today in Corolla aswell but I can't remember what the name of the place way, kinda tucked away by a go cart place. Across from the Food Lion. We're doing parasailing tomorrow, and the wild horse tours thursday. Funny thing is, we drove my GF's Grand Cherokee down here, she insists her car is made for off roading and can drive to see the horses without paying for a tour. Meanwhile I'm seeing all of these Hummer H1's that the wild horse tours use. Yeah we're paying for the tour b/c I'm not dealing with her Jeep getting stuck in sand.
  21. Going for a week with the GF's family. I went once when I was very young and just remember it being boring. Hopefully things have changed? Any recommendations on what to do? where to eat? Already signed up to go parasailing at some point, which is great because it gives me the rare opportunity to combine my fear of heights, flying and drowning all in one activity.
  22. exactly! When I was truck shopping I routinely fan into lease turn-in's that were north of 35-40k$ The only fullsize truck I could find even remotely in my price range had well over 100k miles on them. EDIT: the particular one I remember was an f150, I think brand new sticker was $45k? and it was on the lot used for $38k with 35,000+ miles on it. this was before i bought my tacoma so probably 2-3 years ago.
  23. What a joke, so lets blame the artist a guy who sings about falling in love, growing up working class, and having fun for trashing a city. Why is it that the blame never falls where it should, a bunch of drunk assholes who don't know how to hold their alcohol or how to clean up after themselves? I am not a Kenny fan by any means but I've seen him in concert and to say he instigates violence is just fucking stupid. And why is it the artist's responsibility to make sure all of the fans clean up for themselves? They're adults aren't they? https://www.yahoo.com/news/kenny-chesney-concert-trashes-pittsburgh-140142470.html
  24. I'll just reiterate my initial disclaimer, in no way am I JUST pointing the finger at democrats as being obstructionist, or Republican's as being the work horse of our government. In my opinion they're all terrible in some way. I was just commenting on the newest story being ran which is the "sit in".
  25. Ok I'll preface this by saying I think the biggest travesty in American Politics is the notion that you MUST pick a side. You're either team blue or team red and whichever side you're on you better defend it. If people were honest with themselves and picking a cause to promote or defend there would be more cooperation and people working towards a cause instead of just 'trying to beat the other team'. So i don't hate or dislike a politician or person simply b/c they claim to be a republican or democrat. That being said... This sit in is fucking ridiculous. I feel like I'm watching grown children bicker with one another. At that, every time I see one of these people in front of a camera all they have done is complain about the republicans, not once have they stated why the fuck they're there in detail and what they hope to accomplish?! (Gun Control, i get it but my point is no one has even mentioned that yet). I appreciate someone being very passionate about a cause, regardless whether or not I agree with that cause. But where was this passion when it was reported that social security will run out? or when reports of veterans not being able to get the healthcare they deserve? or other similarly notable causes that deserve just as much attention?! What happens when Paul Ryan shows up to work tomorrow only to declare a recess for the rest of the week. Will these people still be sitting on the senate floor come Monday morning?! Ok so there's been no bipartisan support, so why not work towards that? Instead of trying to bully everyone else into what YOU (and presumably the people you represent) want. What's the end game? Disclaimer: I am the last person to claim to know the in's and out's of the federal government so I'm sure I may have some facts mixed up by all means constructive criticism is welcomed.
