  4. I would recommend 7a to be sure, and 7:30a to be safe.
  5. This one is cartoonish (no pun), but still the Aztek was downright ugly.
  6. I went the older bike route. 1975 Honda CB750 for $1,000. Have another $1,000 into it, and have been offered $3,500. I will probably have it forever. The downside with these older bikes is the brakes aren't so good, and the seats aren't so comfortable. But, they are cheap and as stated you won't lose money on them. If you go this route, see if you can find one that is somewhat collectible.

    Hi

An FWD brick in the 12's is notable. While some may question the "why", I admire the results! For some reason I have a fondness for wagons and mini-vans. For mini-vans, the boxier, the better.
  10. It would be a good option as you get to use the interest from the mortgage as a tax deduction, and hopefully gain some equity. Plus, you get the first time home buyer's credit ($8,000 off your taxes!) if you get it in contract before it expires at the end of April. We want to move this, so I would advise if you are at all interested to take a look. I am not sure if it is posted yet. Contact Debbie above. Rich

  12. You can't buy this one new. He built the engine himself out of two singles...
  13. Yet another indication that Sprint Cup is the WWE of motorsports. I'd rather go to CMS and watch the locals.
  14. Take it to a knowledgeable professional for evaluation and recommendations on what to do. I've used this place in the past on my Alvarez for setup, and they seem to do nice work. http://www.jthomasdavis.com/home.html Nice folks and recommended by real guitarists. Personally, I would have it cleaned and repaired professionally, keeping it in original condition. The patina adds to the value. DO NOT REFINISH as the guitar is in nice shape already, and it will decrease the value. I would also search for an original or period correct hardshell case to keep it in. Unless you really need the money, I would keep it. If you really need the money, PM ME! With the recession, the value on collectibles generally declined. Now that the economy is starting to recover, the market value of collectibles should start to rise again and this will do nothing but play in your favor.
  15. To take this thought a step further, I would also consider working on only certain types of cars or doing certain types of work that you could specialize in and therefore charge a premium. There will always be people that want repairs done for cheap. However, if you can become known as the local expert in some area, you can charge a premium for that and not only control the work you do, but charge a premium for it. Consider the unique knowledge and expertise you and your Dad have, and see if you can leverage that.
  16. If it is a real Gibson SG, it is a valuable piece. Good for you! By the way, it is "Les Paul".
  17. Should I get another one from LKQ or another salvage place, my concern is kind of the same - am I better off buying aftermarket given an LKQ unit will be several years old, condition unknown. Speaking with a friend of mine, the concern with an aftermarket is whether it will function properly with the rest of the electronics. For example, various units shown on the Crutchfield site indicate an adapter is needed ($99.95) to hook up properly with the OnStar and other options on my Suburban.
  18. Yes, I did a quick search on Crutchfield and they don't even have AM FM CD Cassette units any more! I seem to be stuck in the '80's with my electronics...
  19. Wasn't sure whether to put this in Tech Help or here. I have a 2005 Suburban with the Delco Bose AM FM CD Cassette stereo. It has a problem with the CD player (won't accept a CD). From what I have researched so far, repair will be at least $150. So, I am a bit torn between having this 5 year old unit repaired vs. replacing it with a new aftermarket unit. By the way, I use both the CD and cassette. Thoughts? Recommendations on a repair place? I am searching on line but if somebody has had good luck with a local place, I am open to suggestions. Thanks! Rich
  20. Whether you support drag racing, circle track, rally, road racing, motorcycling, or autocross, you should seriously consider supporting this project. All forms of motorsports and motoring are under attack from local, state, and federal agencies, as well as narrowly focused special interest groups. The more promotion and visibility there is for positive, economically viable motorsports activities, the more we all win.
