    Do want!!!!

The pvs22 runs about 10k so im guessing this will come in around 8500 depending on which tube you would want. Wont know until next week when prices are released at SHOT show
  5. Sounds like you have proper fundamentals down if you are getting those groups with your 30/06. I think a lot of people go and try and judge the accuracy of a rifle without first really knowing how accurate they are as a shooter. Many people are happy with what I would consider sub par groups, just because they dont know any better of what the setup is actually capable of doing. Additionally they have never been taught proper fundamentals or how to shoot accurately. Its hard to diagnose accuracy issues when you dont know if its the rifle, the load, or the shooter. Shooter consistency is key before you can look at the rifle or load. Ive watched people try and sight in rifles and they will spend all day adjusting their scope and chasing the rounds on paper when the real issue is that the shooter is not consistent and is pulling shots due to poor shoulder/cheek weld, bad breathing techniques, and poor trigger control.

    Do want!!!!

New from TNVC. Im hoping this thing is as good as it sounds. Ill never have the funds for one but hopefully someone I know will get one that I can play with. If this thing really performs like the UNS/PVS22 and comes in a few $K cheaper, it will be a real winner.
  7. Accuracy will be based on your shooting ability as well so without knowing that, its hard for me to comment. But, Ill say that you should be able to take almost any off the shelf rifle and put 3 shots into 1-2" at 100 yards. If you cant do that 99% of the time, you probably need to work on your shooting skills before judging the accuracy of a rifle. Just my .02.
  8. Whenever you add sugar, make sure to use brown sugar instead of white. Much better.
  9. By the way, when are you going to get to the range and get some 100-1000 yard groups with that thing to see how it, you, shoot?
  10. Ive been pretty lucky myself. While Shawna likes to give me a hard time about it, she will tell me "If you want it, get it" Of course I dont think she really understands how much some of this stuff is but when I had a chance at buying a $3000 spotting scope last week for 1500, she said go for it. I still passed even though it was a helluva deal.
  11. Yeah but that wont be 30hrs straight. it wil take a few days. Just plan your flights right. If you dont sleep well on flights, listen to Shitty.. Ive been fortunate enough that most of my overseas flights have been in business class so I could rock the 100% lay flats, 4 course meals, drinks, tv, video games, etc. Truly does make a difference but I could never afford to do it on my own dime.
  12. I dont see anything sad about it. Its war, they are doing their jobs. I applaud our service members for protecting each other and us.
  13. Im not creating an ID just to look at that. Details?

    Dry Firing

Dry firing on a centerfire cartridge is fine. Just dont do it on rimfires as some models, the FP will hit the edge of the chamber and can damage it.
  15. Like I said above, the boots I linked to are my hunting/foul weather boots. Actually I will probably get 2 more pairs of boots. One in a tall height more all weather/summer (helps with tucking pants into to avoid tickts, which i get into a lot!!! ) and another for hiking with a lower lace height for use with shorts.
  16. My NYE contribution. Smoked Brisket.
  17. We've been through this before on here. While actual possession may or may not be illegal, youre trudging a slippery slope because you have the ability to "adapt" your rifle to hold more than 31 rounds" Same concept as an SBR. You cannot have a barrel of less than 16" without having an approved SBR permit if you have all the other parts as well to make a working AR. You can have the barrel less than 16" but you cannot have all the other parts for the AR at the same time. technically if you have a lower and the 16" barrel, they can get you. Yes you can get a permit, and "your" reading of the law doesnt mean anything since you are not an ATF agent, lawyer or LEO who would be enforcing. When are people goign to learn that "your interpretation" of the law means exactly jack shit.
  18. So a few things to ask yourself. Are you going to be hiking/walking in them long distances. (i.e. weight and support) What is your primary usage environement. (hot, cold, wet, muddy, combination) Insulated? if so, what weight. Unless you are outdoors for long periods of time in wet/snowy conditions, you would probably just want a decent all weather boot. Summer and warmer weather boots should be lighter and better for breathing, Winter boots should be waterproof and have insulation. how much insulation depends on usage. you'll need less insulation if you will be walking in them allot as you will stay warmer but I have 1000g thinsulate in mine because Im hunting in them and may be sitting still for 5+ hrs in 0-15 degree temps. Tread - Get something that will be good for your usage. Whatever you end up with, get a set of Superfeet Orange Insoles. These things are awesome and by far the best insoles I have ever used. Recommended to me by multiple hunting guides including Alaskan hunting guides and climbers. I have a set of Irish Setter Grizzly Trackers with 1000g Thinsulate. Superfeet insoles. There are a few places in columbus that carry them. http://www.superfeet.com/
  19. So you do realize that possessing that is illegal right and that you just announced it on a public forum?
  20. Use the one where you can make consistant hits at the distance you will be shooting. Neither are very usefull if you cant hit your target. Dont use the .17 IMO.
  21. Because you can only shoot one at a time and its a bitch lugging the weight around when all geared up in warm clothes trekking through a mucky snow covered field or woods.
  22. You said night so im guessing you'll only be shooting a few hundred yards max so either are fine.
  23. You dont need exact dates. As long as youre close on the month you should be fine. Dont use days, just months.
