  1. Meh. I'd rather own $200K worth of land.

That’s only relative to where you buy it. That can buy you a square mile in Montana, an entire street of rental property in Detroit, or a shitty Condo in New York.

Again, money changes perspective. You need a different set of spectacles to see the need for this car. Without it, this purchase will never make sense.

  2. Was he not watching where he was going?

Where was he supposed to go? He had less of a second to react, had a body rolling down the road to his right, and a bike flipping down the road to his left.

  3. Bought this block last year with the intention of building a motor for my Trans Am. Since the T/A is sold, I need to clear out room in the garage. I've done nothing with it since I bought it except put it on an engine stand.

The link below is original listing when I bought it.

    $400

A bit confused- it says machine work was done, but talks about the OEM cross hatch still looking good, and its at stock bore.

Do you know hat was done?

  4. Not sure if this is appropriate for this thread or not, but my little baby Ninja 250 that got me initially hooked on 2 wheels last year got me hooked on this bad boy over the weekend:

New-to-me 2008 GSX-R 600, had all of 2100 miles on it when I picked it up. While I'm glad I started with a 250 to learn, this thing is 10 times more of a bike and I freakin' love it. Bone stock at the moment, shorty levers on the way though. I won't be embarrassed to park next to the other bikes at Cars and Coffee now, lol.

Love it with the white wheels

  5. Not always. And not in the big cities. After med school you have 3-7 years for residency where you make minimum. Just enough to pay interest if you're lucky.

Yes, but there is a goal- and a clearly marked path to get there.

200k up form in cost makes sense when you stand to make 2-4 million in the next 10 years, especially when most of that debt will be paid off or forgiven. That’s not an issue IMO.

I think it starts with the 30-60k "average working stiff" jobs that REQUIRES a BS to apply. That in itself is BS! You want a guy that is not going to make enough to support his family be forced to waste 4 years of his life getting a piece of paper to apply for said job? Then, have 40-60k in debt that at a minimum repayment will take 10-15 years to pay off with over 100k paid at that point?

    Junk.

  6. What's my prize? :)

Looks like a lot of work. Try and do some digging and see if the previous owner had issues with that head unit prior to sale. I know he is a big name in the community, but that does not to give him a pass on selling you a turbo with a known issue.

  7. I have been a loan officer for 6 years now and although I stick with residential mortgages, I am familiar with this issue as many levy a loan against the house to consolidate. So, I have seen every messy student loan situation out there.

Like the health care system, the education system needs to be revamped from the bottom-up, not the other way around. If they only allow you to refi student loans into lower rates, it would be the same effect as Obamacare (to a point) and not attacking the real issue at hand, the perceived NEED for a college degree, and the COST of attaining one.

  8. great job.

common, lol. is that serious? as you post on an internet forum... :lolguy:

Im on CR maybe 5 mintues a day, on a not every day basis.

I see way to many kids these days playing video games for hours a day-I mean 5+ hours. Even worse when the parents encourage it or use it as a child care technique...

  9. Just thought I'd update y'all with my weight loss journey. Maybe help inspire some people along the way to just keep going and NEVER give up on yourself! With consistent exercise and proper eating I have managed to do what I always thought impossible. I went from super morbid obesity to normal in just a year and a half! I went from staying inside playing video games with my kids to going hiking and biking with them and retiring my video game consoles!

For anyone out there trying. . . the fight is worth it. . . never ever give up! ;)

And support for my agrument against video games. Live life in the REAL world!
