The event is just to big and out of control. I am anxiously awaiting a new quieter event to come soon.
What about that Kansas meet?
What about the good ol' Cle vs CLB days?
Nothing like sitting in that birds nest behind the old IPS to orchestrate a full night of racing.

Do a lot of you guys in the sticks no have Natural Gas? I would get a wood burner set up stat! And,find a friend with some land. There are down trees everywhere.
-
How bad is the dry rot on the tire?
-
Hit up Rocky at Scorpion Motorsports. They have a TON of FC stuff.

I plan on going with a fairly aggressive cam in the next few months. Just need to figure out which heads I want to build to support it.
Stock.
Just toss a spring in it. People are making literally 1000s of HP on stock heads. Unless you have money to burn, or are trying to set records, or can do it yourself, I don’t think an aftermarket head, PP, or work involved with bigger vales is going to be worth the 8-10whp you will see in the upper RPMs on a stock LS6 or Ls2
Take it with a grain of salt as I am a cheap dick backyard racer, but I always look for the cheapest path to achieve my desired velocity.
-
I'd be willing to pay for several PPIs, considering the risks involved: it's a high-dollar vehicle, it has been heavily modified, it has a history of mechanical failure, and you're purchasing it from a friend. I'd shell out the extra cash for the additional PPIs just to make sure.
If he's a freind, I'd have him pay for it. If you dont buy it it would be a great selling tool anyways.

I went the cheap route and bought Pacesetter's. As long as I get a little more sound than stock (with some added power) I'll be happy.
Let us know what the difference is.
Believe it or not- the most noticeable difference in sound and power I have seen is with a CAM, headers or not.
-
Yeah I have kicked around headers and a Corsa exhaust as that seems to be the best sounding combo on these cars and minimize drone, but you are talking 1000 for headers and another 1200 for the exhaust. When I look at that I say cutting the mufflers off is a bargain. I am not sure I want it any louder for what I use it for.
You dont-trust me!
Muff Delete and intake

The kiitchen sink. There is no middle ground here.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but a consistent washing regimen can keep the rust off too.
The M3 I posted about earlier has been a winter car since 2003 and there's not a spot of rust on it.
Considering its been below freezing for the entire winter-unless you have access to a heater wash station and like every door/window you have being frozen shut with some frequency-I'd say aint nobody go time for that.
-
Since everyone is looking for tires-I'll toss my add in too.
As stated. LMK what you have. Could trade mint 26x10x15's MT ET streets for them
LMK

I have 15x10x26 ET streets I'd sell

Hmmm...and it sounds good? I think it sounds good without the mufflers but I am still on stock manifolds with cats
Just removing the cats will get you where you want to be sound and power wise. Unless you making 500+WHP, there is NO need to replace the hot pipes on a V IMO. I put an x pipe on a V with headers and mufflers-it went from nice to raspy and obnoxious. Made no difference in power.
-
Is it really worth rusting out your nice car just to say you did it?
Boom.
If you care about the car, keep it out of the salt. Anything can "work" with snow tires, but if you can afford a toy, you could also afford a beater IMO. If you have a job that requires you carry customers/clients and need a nice car for winter, you should make enough to afford a nicer beater.
-
Did you leave the resonator on?
Yes

Found it!

See you at the auction.

Cam, headers, cat and muffler delete=ultimate "sound" winning with a CTS V

WTB: GTO spares

FUCKING PADDLE SHIFT.
If they have the boost by gear dialed in, he will supprise a LOT of people at Texas. If the car works well I bet the 4l60/80 E + Paddle will get SUPER popular in a hurry. Buy stock now! LOL
-
Wow, I had no idea you could get the Maserati for 50k now. .
There is a reason they depreciate so badly...
For 50k- My pics-
4 Door-CTS-V-use leftover $$ for Pulley and a tune-cut mufflers off :gabe: 10 sec American sledgehammer
2 Door Saloon- 07 up Jag XK. You dont see many, Super Comfy. Sounds great with an exhaust, looks like a 250k Vanquish-can sneak into an Xk-R for 50k
Why not car-A/C Cobra REP with the biggest huffer I could hang off the thing.

14 Rav 4 2200 (CVT)
CTS-V 2k rpm in 6th
13 Corolla- 2800

Prius = no
Fit = no
Corolla = yes
Take it from a Toyota tech.
How long are people realistically getting out of the Pris Battery packs?
-
Now, time to take the Focus ST engine and drop it in the Fiesta. Bam! Fiesta RS.
Still not AWD
-
Would be nice but I don't think you can find that on par with a 3k budget
High Miles. 200k fuck it. LSX FTW
-
i would much rather have this than a veyron. the balls to go 270 have to be massive.
Tuff call...
AC
Nav
Full Sound System
4 fucking Turbos
Different car IMO. Street car vs Race car.
Also if you have the money to wake up in a New Bugatti, you can buy the Venom for weekends :fuckyeah:

Just for reference-its this guy.
Very, VERY talented fabricator. If his chassis work was well promoted, he would but a LOT of people in the area out of business.
