Question for da boyz on the practices of dating!
PrincessPratt replied to PrincessPratt's topic in Dumpster
first of all, OMG on the facebook/myspace breakup crap. I can't believe people actually do that. Secondly, I have met some really nice guys lately. This whole thread is about a common phenonema that a few gals and I were thinking about....well guys too. I knew everyone would have an opinion on this matter. Obviously from the 5 pages in 12 hours later they do. lol. Thanks everyone for the input thus far! -

But me and many many other young professional women I know feel that it's not enough. So what are we to do? If it was just me that was feeling this way the thread never would have gotten started. It's other women that feel this way. Yes I have certain expectations but if you don't then you get any ole thing. My next quesion....Is this something we are just going to have to tolerate b/c it has become culturally appropriate to communicate in this manner. -

Now I do understand the busy thing. A couple years back I dated an attorney that was always in court or mediations. I got probably 10 tm's a day but only maybe a call every other day. We were both busy and that was OK with me. But you had better believe me that b/f he got me he was chasing this gal with many phone calls, etc. etc. Oh and I'm not old!!!! This girls has still got moves you've never seen b/f (a little bit of movie trivia there). -

Question for da boyz on the practices of dating!
PrincessPratt replied to PrincessPratt's topic in Dumpster
Amen brotha!!!! That is exactly the reason I hate a text message to set up a first date. It's different to send a tm to say ur gonna be a little late (something no man should EVER b on a first date) but not to set it up. So is a woman not to feel important if she gets a tm from a man that showed great interest initially? Inquiring minds want to know. -

Question for da boyz on the practices of dating!
PrincessPratt replied to PrincessPratt's topic in Dumpster
See I would expect that from teenagers BUT these are grown men in their 30's and 40's that I have dated in the past few months. Texting me! Arg. Such a turn off!!! Other women have voiced the same concerns to me. That's why I brought this stuff to the forum b/c I really wanted to know people's motives. To me I would actually like to talk to the person for a bit before the first date to see if I even want to waste my time and gas money. hehe. -
Question for da boyz on the practices of dating!
PrincessPratt replied to PrincessPratt's topic in Dumpster
I think that depends on the girl. I've dated & married enough jack asses to last me a lifetime. People can change. To disprove ur point (and to get u going)....I have a guy friend who is the sweetest thing in the world. I've been good friends with him for 8 years. I NEVER have been attracted to him b/c he was just "too nice". He's seen me through all my traumatized relationships, helped me move several times, and the dude even helped me lay sod when I build my new home years ago. Back then I was thinking oh this is just my brother in Christ. Now I look at him and I see his character and integrity. NOW I am extremely attracted to him b/c of who he is. He never changed. I did. I got sick and tired of getting treated like crap and now my affections are set on the men who will treat me like a princess. -
I was talking to one of my guy friends the other night about current dating practices. I've started to question some things. First of all I wonder if chivalry has gone right out the darn window? Or are people really that clueless? Or has the culture of dating changed? I notice that instead of a respectfully calling you to set up a date....he sends a text message. Are men afraid of rejection? Just curious b/c if a female gives you her number I think she may actually pick up that phone to answer. lol. Secondly, if you get a text message at 2 or 3 in the morning does that still constitute a booty call (considering the content of the TM is just...hey how ya doing). Has this become the new culture of dating...even for the 30 plus crowd??? I'm seriously curious as to what men are thinking when they do these things. Type away.....hehe.

Welcome!!!! And Paul did u really expect any less from the guys on this site. When will the leg humping begin? lol. Ride safely!!!
-
Dude....u & ur room mate were NOT wearing helmets when I first met u!!! See why I told u that I won't ride with people who don't wear helmets. And I know that it would not have saved this guy in this situation. I so wish helmets were a state law like they are in Cali. I've seen senseless traumas come in with closed head injuries all b/c they refuse to wear a helmet. But I've also had to bag up body parts in the trauma bay like I'm sure the poor medics had to do in this scenario. I feel sooooo bad for his girlfriend and child. My gosh now there's another fatherless child.

Ya I met him up at Iron Pony and told him about the website. When he told me what he usually uses as his screen name I almost fell off my bike laughing. Welcome aboard. Enjoy the drama!

I sooooo agree with every single statement this man has made. I am so proud to live in the united states. I have yet to meet my goals financially but no other country would I be in the position I am in now with where I started from. I praise God that He allowed me to be born an American Citizen. Yes we surely have problems but instead of opening that trap so many have and complaining why no get off that lazy butt of yours and attempt to become part of the solution. Negativity only breeds more negativity. How would you all feel IF you were born into another country where civil war is the predominant lifestyle.....were you have to fear for your life everyday....were your mother and father teach you to put a bomb on your back at the age of 8 for your "religion"???? Hmmmm, I am VERY PROUD to be an American. If you want success GO AFTER IT PEOPLE! So many complain about our president b/c of the financial state we are in (yes Bush does have problems) but how about you cut back and not buy all the latest and greatest gadgets. How about you save for a rainy day? People overspend and then they blame the government and want the government to pick up the slack for their own indiscretions. I know I'm ranting but I am so sick and tired of people complaining about stuff when they are adding to the problem!!!!!

Whoa is me!!! I am so not worthy to be on the same website as this motorcycle master. j/k. The first month I had my bike I dropped it 3 times. It was my second bike (never dropped the first) and MUCH taller. The first time I had to have 2 hilljacks pick it up for me. I was at a stop sign (not moving) when it happened. The second time I was right behind charles and steph....making a turn when brake lights when on....my foot got caught in the somewhere. Then Sinner gave me the name "timber". Last one was in gravel when my bike was yet again at a stand still. I then got these HUGE frame sliders on my bike & bought boots with 1 1/2 inch heels......haven't dropped my baby again. Now if I could just conquer cornering. lol.
