NC...it was on my short list when I moved to Nashville. I have a certain affinity for STL, but only for vacationing.

Followed the girlfriend around on hers. Longest ride yet for her, 22miles. Only the third time riding on the street now, she's doing well so far.

That's one I can't answer. I expect it to last awhile. My opinion, your next best option, DIY, is a cinderblock wall, using 8x8x16's. I'd guess about $1000 for 36" tall x 15-20 lateral feet. Just want to be sure there is a good footing and places for drainage as well as good anchors into the retaining dirt.

For raised decks, etc. It's best to put the treated lumber on a concrete pillar. Better support for sure. I dont see where there would be a problem for retaining walls, the load is lateral. I remember growing up, dad sunk posts all the time for fences etc...it's been 20+ years since then and those posts are all still there. Solid as the day they were put in.

I built one last summer similar to the one in your last picture. It took me about half a day, the cost of some pressure treated wood, and some concrete. I set 4x4 posts and used 2x6's ran between the 4x4's

You spelled sponsor the second time wrong too. @Isaac's Papa. You missed one

Second just do it. My dad did it at least 15 years ago and still good. Ex-gf also did it and great results. The recovery is the worst part, like any surgery. Check out the different types, she had the PRK done. Do both eyes at the same time. Cost for her was $2400.

A quick story you're welcome to pass along about the liter bike as a first bike...I worked at a dealership for a short time years ago, had the task of prepping a brand new gsxr for a kid, 18-19 (I was only 23). Got to meet him, he had a ton of questions. He had talked his dad into getting him the 1000 as his first bike. I spent the time I could talking safety and the danger of that as a first bike...he left. Found out a few weeks later he was out trying to show off, wheelies, came all the way over fell off and killed himself. Like you said a 600 is a lot of power. The SV, EX650 ninjas, etc. Are a great choice for a first time rider.

I see nothing wrong with how he was riding in the longer video. That's basically how I ride. If there's nothing more to the story than what's been seen on video, cop went way past rationale. -
Prices on all that is crazy. I have a standing desk at work. I refuse to sit, I am there 8-10 hours a day and only sit for about 15 minutes to eat a quick lunch. I have a small pedestal type desk, was $150 on Amazon. No mat, steel toed work boots. Concrete floors. For me, it's good boots and insoles. I spend only a couple hours in front of the computer, I walk nearly 10000 steps a day at work.

Wanna sell it? Would have to ship it.

You don't have an extra windscreen or mirrors for it do you?

I've always been for function over looks. For commuting, fenders would be a must. It will be a long time before I see wet roads on a bicycle though. I hope to be able to get to the local bike path after work and do a few miles a couple times a week. I'm not sure how I feel about riding on the road yet. Especially from my driveway, it's a busy road and a hill, big hill, in three directions.
-
Ehh...full disclaimer, I picked the first Google photo that wasn't a stock photo and was the same color. This isn't an actual picture of what I picked up, so no fenders. Mine does have the little seat bag though. I'll get an actual pic the first time I ride it. No idea what I'm doing. I doubt I'll ever commute, it's gonna be awhile before I do any distance even I would imagine.

Picked up a used Trek 7.5 FX over the weekend. Seems OR has turned into a guns and bicycles forum so I figured I needed a bicycle. Gonna have to figure out the ins and outs and thought this would be a good bike to get started on.

Picked up a Trek 7.5fx...I felt like an outsider on this bicycling forum.

Post count and seniority are different. I've been here a long time and have much fewer posts than you. My posts are typically value added, yours are noisy wasted words of banter.
-
Seniority should count for something. It shows dedication to the site.

I'll see your attempt at stirring the pot. I will challenge your correction. Whoever is the subject in the sentence, not the object. Now the sentence as typed was a grammatical mess. There were multiple sentence fragments with incorrect punctuation. Try again.

This is turning into a thread much like some of Toniks others...lots of anticipation and no end result. All it needs is for whoever gets mod status, assuming that happens, as part of hazing gets a 3 day ban.
