I quit my job and started a hydraulic parts and repair shop. Basic cylinder repair right now and making replacement hydraulic lines. I will eventually get into machining replacement components for cylinders.

So how'd this ever turn out? It's quite likely I've missed another thread somewhere on the forum, but I know this one exist.

I had the HF setup years ago and thought it did the job just fine. Made the appropriate upgrades and really it seemed to work well. One day I felt like spending money so I went ahead and got the $650 classic no mar and it's like night and day. Your budget will determine what works best, but I'd pick the no mar, when given the choice between it and the HF.

I generally don't share much of my personal life...I felt that the photographer captured the moment exceptionally well though. I've waited over a year for the eclipse so I could get this picture and really could not be happier with the result. The eclipse was an amazing thing to get to see and I will be in Ohio in 2024 to see it happen again.

Nah, I don't think so. I pay $600 a year for my bike and the same for my Jeep. The house is $1200 a year. Property taxes are only $1800. No income tax. Sales tax is a 9.025, but I'm only 30 min from KY so if I want a big purchase I go there.

I've been here for 7 years and haven't even had the slightest notion to go back to Ohio. Everything is better. Everything. The housing market is crazy right now so getting a home for less than asking value won't happen. The weather is generally warmer and more humid in the summer. I started out in downtown Nashville and have slowly moved North and West to get away from all the hustle and bustle of city living. Smyrna is South and East. I24 from Smyrna to Nashville is by far the heaviest and worst traffic in the city. Anything specific, ask away. I can check things out if you need eyes on something. Overall with a company paid transfer it wouldn't even be something I would consider, I would be an instant yes. If you don't mind a short commute, live about 20-30 miles east of Smyrna and the cost of living goes way down, you're in the country, and the plateau is only 40 minutes away. The dragon would be about 3 hours. A day trip basically.

$2300 in this thread. I'm gonna put it on Craigslist for around $3000 to see if anyone is serious about buying.

I'll likely have a 2007 Ninja 650 to sell soon. Its a little rough aestheticly, but mechanically in good shape, short a set of tires. It would also require a weekend trip to get it from me. Its likely a little small for someone your size, but the motor is right for a new rider. You'd probably do best on a v Strom or similar, it would fit your height better.

With so many options to choose from and the reasons for not have one is diminishing rapidly I have to ask: 1) What action cam are you using with your bike today? Replay XD Prime X 2) What action cam do you wish you had instead? I'm entirely satisfied with what I have. 3) What available options do you like most now and what do you want to see in the future? Size was a huge selling point and it's waterproof without a bulky case. Hundreds of mounting options. The company seems a bit unstable at the moment, I'm hoping for better support and to fix the app for the camera. 4) And why? Why what?

Keens are primarily outdoors/hiking shoes. I've always bought the hiking line from REI. I have multiple pairs of their hiking boots and found their industrial shoes on accident. A quick Google search shows they are available on great lakes industrial shoe. I got mine through Sears online though. I've never been able to wear industrial work boots, due to all day comfort. So I've always gravitated towards a hiking boot for work. They provide a different/better level of support and more cushioning. The red wing low top was bearable. Finding Keen has been life changing for me, especially on those long days on my feet. I've got a desk job now, so the 12 hrs on my feet days are no more, which is nice. I still am required to have OSHA compliant shoes though because I am in and out of the shop.

I encourage you to find and try on a pair of keens. I wore the same shoes you are now for years and really liked them. Found the keens and haven't looked back since. They are on a whole different level of comfortable while still retaining the OSHA compliance.

I wear keen on the hiking trails and find them to be top notch in the shop. I've never really liked true boots and always worn hybrids. The Keens fit that exactly and are comfortable enough for 10-12 hours days and still meet all the safety requirements most industrial facilities require.

I'm at a 12 mile commute now. At my current pay and title I'd do the same job with a 20 mile commute. With a raise in pay I'd easily do 30 miles if I had to. Years ago I was doing 70+ each way and I won't do that again. It was all interstate, but really didn't matter.

Unless something has changed since this morning that was a false report. Ober Gatlinburg is still there.

Long shot here...anybody looking for a fresh start in Nashville? Company I work for is looking for a couple machinists for second shift. Manual lathe, some CNC. Hydraulic repair work, chrome rods, tubes, etc.. Also looking for first and second shift technicians. Hydraulic background handy, but not necessary. A good mechanical working knowledge is all that is needed. Hydraulics can be taught. Need your own tools and a good driving record.
