cool, I'll keep an eye out in the spring for even anouncements. I'd probably stay in town for convenience. I know that with my mods I'm pretty much in SM anyway, but I'm not sure how the rules might change next year. I'm not really sweating it cause I know I won't be competitive, just having a little fun with the wife.
-
hit me up in the spring and I'll let you know when we're going up to Nelson for a Funday, which is basically $125 for an open lapping day.
-
Hell, I'm just happy when other people come out so it's just not me getting my ass kicked by Andy....haha. I'll settle for a nice wager of a victory beer afterward.
-
haha...sorry for some of the confusion guys. I'm definately familiar with what/where/when for track days I was asking AJ if he wants to tag along next year. I just haven't done an auto-x in about 3 years, and I figured if I was going to go out that I'd try to go to one where I can meet some other CR members. I also wasn't sure where they held them now so thanks for the heads up. Do you guys normally stick to OVR meets? Do you post up when you're going to an upcoming one? Also, when/where do they announce the 08 class specifications? I'll be very far from competitive since my car is setup for doing street/track duty, but I also don't want to worry about being illegal for my class (such as I know I can't use my x-brace in SM).
-
maybe I missed it, but who was running the event and where was it held? AJ, VERY cool to see you using the car this way. Want to try a track day next year? Do you guys normally attend events run by a certain group or at a specific place? I'm hoping to get my wife out in her and my cars at a few auto-x events next year before I put her on the track in my M3 even though I'm a total FD fan, this was possibly the coolest car out there for me http://richard.safier.com/OVR/Nov2007/target155.html definately digging the ol 2002 action.

hrm....could be SERIOUS trouble when you get your suspension sorted a bit better. Let me run r-comps and we'll call it a deal

should work fine on a mazda6i. I use a very similar set from my talon on my wife's mazda6i without any problems. not sure if the 6s had bigger brakes or not?

fastest lap at the first Nelson Funday in May, loser repays the winner's entry fee? I kid, I kid. Sorry, I'm bored today.
-
and I quote from Jackie Gleason in Smokey and the Bandit "...you can think about it....but don't do it" HAHAHA
-
it's a damn crying shame, but since R-magic isn't having luck selling his car whole, he said he'd begin parting it out soon. So your buddy could see how much he wants for his very well developed single setup.
-
if he's trying to do it on the cheap, tell him to find a nice set of used twins to put back on it, otherwise he's opening a whole can of worms he won't be ready for yet.
-
craig, can you PM me your number. I have a friend that isn't on the board that may be interested in them. Thank you. Chris

I have the generation 5 I think? The one with the different plates that you can swap out. I don't really use the waffle plates very much, but it's WAY handy that you can pull the grill plates off and clean them. They say you can put them in the dishwasher, but I don't. I would highly recommend the removable plate versions over the older versions just for ease of cleanup. I use mine probably 1-2 times a week.

welcome. I had a phantom grip with the upgraded springs in my talon when I had it, and I was very happy with it.

WTB cheap gauges: Boost, AFR/O2 and intake temp
Smokey replied to Science Abuse's topic in LBTS GLWS
http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?p=478714#post478714 I have an air/fuel gauge that works with the stock narrow band O2. I'm not sure where to tap for the reading on your car though, you might want to look into that first. -
Any good machine shops that specialize or work with alot of imports?
Smokey replied to cbustuner's topic in Tech and Tips
while Fowler doesn't specialize in imports, in my opinion they're the best machine shop in town (quality work, done when they say, for the amount they say) They bored the block on my 4G63, and balanced the rotating assembly. Not one issue with them. -
I couldn't get the pictures to load, but it might be my work PC, it's acting funny today. I'll have to check it again later at home. Anyway...completely badass car. Next time you come down to columbus, you'll have to let me bum a ride from you. I also noticed you mentioned track time, my brother and I frequent Nelson Ledges during the track season to do their Fundays. Shoot me a PM in the spring if you'd like to come up with us, even if you just want to hang out and ride along. They're usually on Fridays. Chris

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/internetsafe.jpg as Derek stated, I'm running -2.5-ish on the rear of my car at all times. While it will certainly decrease the life I get out of the tires, I don't think it's going to do so DRASTICALLY. I'm sure with less camber I could nurse a couple thousand more miles out of them, but it'd be a bigger pain in the ass for Derek to have to adjust the rear camber all the time...haha. We tried that for a summer. At this point I leave the rear where it's at, and adjust the front only (which is at my track setting of -3.5 in that picture).
-
I think you can find a happy medium that will allow you to run a bit of camber for fit without going to crazy on tire wear. Offset and total width is going to be the most important. Some of the pictures you posted had upwards of -4 or -5 degrees camber which I'm thinking they have airbags and the rear wheels are only like that when sitting still and it's dropped. They probably drive on less camber
-
every time I've seen that car it's stopped me dead in my tracks. White is definately right on the FD. Good luck with the sale, sorry to see you selling it.
-
well. You've definately got stones posting those pictures with this crowd. I'll play devil's advocate...how much camber are you currently running in the rear? I'm assuming you had it aligned after putting the suspension on like you should have correct? I'm a fan of the clean slammed sedan with wheels look. I think it can be very attractive and give a nice edge to a car without making it look tasteless. Unfortunately that's a very fine line, and it will exist at different points for everyone. couple examples I pulled off google quickly http://www.d2autosport.com/D2_2006/06_Wheels/wheels/autocouture/e55magnj.jpg http://www.d2autosport.com/D2_2006/06_Wheels/wheels/autocouture/e55latix.jpg http://www.autoblog.com/media/2006/06/khan-audi-a8-(resized-450).jpg I'm personally not a big fan of the curtains, but that's once again that invisible line that everyone puts somewhere else. The rear camber looks exaggerated on the stock wheels and I'm willing to bet that if you were in the -2.5-ish range with a bigger set of wheels that it wouldn't look out of place at all.

looks like they edited the story already "Police said Daniel told them why he shot his parents, but they're not releasing the motive." mentions nothing of the game

haven't heard about any in columbus for quite some time as the city was very strict about busting up anything that went past 2:30. Cinci and Cleveland still have them a bunch though. Perhaps I'm missing something....subscribed to find out
-
cool. Speaking of fast I-6s, do you have any more specs/info on yours?
-
I think we're just going to have to agree to disagree there fellas
