I agree, but only when pared with a proper projector, otherwise you're not getting anything for your money other than pretty light spread out in all the wrong places.

don't waste your money on HIDs unless you can get a proper projector for your car. Buy a nice bulb setup and be content that you did everything you could.

agreed. I'm sure like most modern turbocharged cars shortly after its arrival I'm sure we'll see companies making substantial power gains for minimal work and price, which is the main alure of this type of car. -

very cool car. The front came out a little more hard-edged than I had hoped from the spy shots. I'm not a big fan of the ripples in front of the front wheels. I realize that they're probably useful, but it jumped out at me. Price is going to be a major player here as well. Not sure how many they intend to sell here do you know? I'd imagine they're looking for the NSX market. -
as to the swap question. Are you going to do the fab work yourself or pay someone/shop to do it? The LS1 swap requires a lot of work to be done right. While it can definately be worth it, if you can't do the work yourself you'd be far better off just selling your roller and buying a car with the swap done already. You'd likely have less money AND time into it that way. obviously the quickest/easiest way to get your car back on the road is to rebuild the 13B, and of course fix the tuning issue that blew it up in the first place.

+1 interested to know this as well. Unfortunately Kawasaki is also the worst company to work with on warranty issues like this. The Kawi rep for central ohio is the worst dealer rep I've ever even heard of, and his higher-ups don't care. The same attitude persists throughout the service side on warranty claims as well. Collect as much documentation about the issue as possible and develop a solid timeline of events of when what broke and what actions were taken to fix it. Good luck with everything, keep us posted.

I took this to mean he was on his Katana. All Katana jokes aside, not keeping within a couple of cars. but you're right, a 300hp CTS would probably hang decent with the WRX.

didn't you recently get that car tuned by the Rx7 Store? What happened, run a little more boost during the cool weather recently?

96's are the only year that's held their value. It has the console shifter on the floor. make sure you're replacing the interior with another 96 interior as well. Make sure the bullets didn't go out the roof of the car first.

can't compare the two. Shapiro is a great GM and has built a great team by scouting and building young players. As mentioned before it's tough to do and can easily be more expensive in the long run when those players leave to go elsewhere and make more money. He should be commended for that. Steinbrenner is a business man and has taken the Yankess from the roughly $10 Mil he bought them for (with other investors that I belive he has bought out), and turned them into a $1.2 Billion franchise. He was a business man first and foremost and is good at making money on investments, which is what he's done with the Yankees. The fact that hey pays his employees more and expects the best from them is just another business tactic. The people who can't do it hate it, but that because they can't. It's economies of scale. Worked pretty well for them in the late 90s, and I'm sure that they'll get back there. It's not like they're bad right now, just not the best.

when i was a kid playing baseball I just always loved watching the Yankees. Grew up with a Don Mattingly poster on my wall. I guess it just stuck, and I've watched them ever since. Let's not forget that the Yankee history was not all roses. It was tough being a fan (and a kid still playing baseball) in the late 80s - early 90s when the Yankees SUCKED! Ironically, as a fan, if Torre has to go then I would like to see Mattingly replace him as manager. As for people being pissed that the Yankees pay the most money to their players, are you more happy that your club of choice just keeps the profits for the owners and shifts the players?

I'll own up to being a fan. watching that game last night was tough. They just kept leaving people on base and couldn't turn that corner to open the game up. Unfortunately you could tell last night that the Indians bull pen had the Yanks up against the wall. Cudos to Byrd for being able to really control the first 5 innings. As for people hating the Yankees, it's just because they're easy to hate, everyone looks up and hates the big boys. If it wasn't them, it'd be someone else. It also makes the games worth watching. Who the hell would want to watch baseball if it didn't make it so damn satisfying when your team beats another team that you hate?

the cooling system on any e36 should be checked over closely. Unfortunately the most important part (water pump) can't be checked without more work than it's worth. The water pumps were made with plastic impellers that tend to melt randomly at a given point in time without much warning. Later BMW fixed this by going to a composite impeller, but there's no way to tell unless they have records (unlikely on a $1500 car). Also check the fan for cracks, if it breaks it'll take out the radiator with it most times. You obviously know how to check out a body, so I'll leave that to you. The RTABS (rear trailing arm bushings) on the rear suspension tend to go bad, when they do you'll be able to tell it by driving the car. If you stand on the gas while rolling (say 40mph) and the back of the car tries to crab walk along the road, then they're bad. They don't cost much, but are a major pain in the ass to replace.

very cool to hear. I've heard that using direct injection on a rotary has yeilded very favorable results for both power and emissions. Perhaps a strong NA rotary (which we all know is strong as a brick) is the future? I'm definately pumped to hear more.

You're forgetting that Stewart IS one of those drivers that I'm talking about. His first championship was in a go cart way before he went into USAC. Don't forget he ran (and won a championship) in IRL before going to nascar too. He's definately one of the more experienced drivers in the field and far from being a good-ol boy. Just like Gordon, back in the day he would have been considered a "yankee" and an outsider. People tend to forget this though because he was established in the series before the most recent popularity boom. Same went for Rusty Wallace and Mark Martin before them.
