  1. while some people on craigslist are asking stupid money for them, I found one new in the box for $350 and I took it. My reasoning behind it was that I essentially paid $80 over retail so that I wouldn't have to stand in line and deal with all the crap. All of the best buys were supposed to have them Sunday, but they said to get there at 6am to get one. I'm not a big fan of the cold. If i was going to pay you $20/hr to stand in the snow to buy me one would you? I wouldn't either.

yeah....F-that. On top of that most people are charging $50 shipping on ebay for them too. I'd buy one from Craigslist where I can meet the person screwing me face to face and let them know they're an :asshole: HAHAHA. This is making my idea of camping out at a store seem more and more sane every minute. Brad, when did you get yours?

I have another question actually. I have a couple remaining vacation days this year yet, so if I was going to take a day and just camp out at some place to try to buy one, where should I choose? Is there any one place that gets bigger shipments or shipments on a more regular basis? Is there any place that I can go and be there from open until they get one and be pretty much guaranteed to get one? This is becoming a major pain in the ass.
  4. it's not going to sit outside is it? As long as it's inside even if the garage is not heated, you'll be fine with a coolant/water mix. you definately want to use a "motorcycle" coolant!
  5. I'm able to volunteer through my work which is really nice. The company I work for is very big into community efforts so I'm able to actually take work time to do it. I usually volunteer at the Lutheran Services Food Pantry. I'm scheduled to be there Dec 19th. Usually I'm there from 10am to 3pm or so. I find it's a nice way to help out as well as keep a real world perspective on things. (meaning my own attitude)

I agree that cups knocked down by the team stay out. I actually believe they should have to pour a new one and drink it just for being a jackass. the way I've always played the rebuttal rule was: say team A is shooting on the last cup, if both of team A's members make it in the last cup, it's over (a-la deathcup). If only one of them makes it, then each member of team B gets to shoot on whatever cups are left. Only one has to make it, and it goes back to team A's turn as if nothing had happened. the main point is just to agree on "house rules" before playing anywhere so that a giant argument doesn't break out in the middle of game play....slowing down the drinking again.
  7. +1 definately a good cause. I actually volunteer at the food bank about once or twice a year, and usually once a month at one of the food pantries that they provide food for.

I generally adhere to similar rules as Marc, except I usually do the 2 re-racks a game. Hell many people I play with will rerack at 6,4,3, and 2. Once you get used to it it's nice because it helps move the game along (let's not forget the point of the game is to drink). Also, many times I've excluded the death cup rule since it promotes both teammates focusing on that and trying to shoot a nearly the same time, then you argue if one of them was going to make it but you pulled the cup and the ball hit your hand....blah blah blah....not worth the damn trouble. I usually play on a 4x8 sheet of plywood, but will make due with whatever. on another note have any of you ever played true beer pong with paddles (what we play is beruit)? It's big on the east coast and has been around for a long time, but I've never done it. I'm interested to try sometime though.

PM me if you decide to. I supposedly have someone helping me get one, but if it fails to produce by the end of this week then I'm going to have to get one myself somehow.

Alex I think we'd agree on a good amount of the rules. Definately some interesting ones in there that I'd like to try out though such as the NBA Jam rule...could definately turn a game on its ear quickly. Actually I'd have to keep that idea away from my father-in-law...he's deadly accurate.

I'm game for a tourney, but it'll be tough to agree on house rules
  12. ^^+1 if you're not very deep into having ridden many sport bikes before you'll likely never notice the small differences between them. The riding position and looks will be the biggest differences to you (no offense meant). So I'd focus on the big factors for you.
  13. sounds like good clean fun. I liked the MAFT when I had it. I've still got my datalogger program, cable, and an old palm if you'd like to buy them from me. Just PM me if so.
  14. silverstone R2...nice, rare too. The e46 looks great too.
  15. I knew you were having a few car troubles so I'm not sweating it too bad. PM me your address and I'll see if I'm able to stop by tonight. I'll be up that way anyway. Thanks.
  16. yes. I'm not sure of the pitch, but I know that I used it on my 1g DSM just fine. I can take a picture of the inside if you'd like, just PM me your address

    The new Wip

Don't get me completely wrong, there are some people out there running very hard and at times they step beyond their means. However, I have yet to see an instance of someone wrecking and taking out another innocent driver with them. Lets hope that trend continues. Usually that's why I like being in the B group because all of the big wrecks I've witnessed were in the A group. That, and it's usually a good idea to try to keep my brother and I in seperate run groups As always, I'll definately be going up to Nelson quite a few times again in 08. It's WAY cheap, you get TONS of track time, and it's nice to be able to drive up and back in one day.

I feel much safter at a Nelson Funday than a NASA HPDE. The vast majority of people at Fundays are very laid back and just having fun. I will continue to do them as well because you cannot get any more track time for the same money ANYWHERE! AJ - looking forward to seeing/meeting you at the track.
  19. the 51 Ford is the business! Looking forward to more updates on it.
  20. I understand your point, but if you walked into every shop around town and asked competent questions, there's no way you'd think they were all the same. You're going to come up with similar "feelings" when asking people opinions. Some will be good, some will be bad, most in the middle. You need to take all the info and make your own best informed decision. About the only thing we can agree on in this thread is to never ever ever take your bike to Ask to get worked on
