I was posting that there is going to be a benefit ride and if you will go back and look I also added that more info was to come, thus there was no need for the attack. And this isn't as if it was just some chick getting up in front of everyone claiming her husband died and she needs money. It was one of his co-workers, a cop in uniform. I really don't think the police department is going to be behind a fake charity event! I'm sure they have better things to do. OMG! That's so true. I was making a left turn once on a major road and the sun was in my eyes and I almost turned right into the path of an oncoming bike because the chrome and the light was disguised by the sun!

I wasn't misinforming ppl. I was passing on what was told to me by one of the police officers and, like I said, I'm sure he knows more about it than you do! I am trying to find more information about it. I do not believe it is his retirement fund that they are not allowing because that doesn't make any sense. I will be sure to record what is said next time and get the exact words for everyone who is skeptical. When I find out more (no info at Pony today) I will let everyone know. What I don't understand is why you insist on putting it down without knowing more too? Am I the only one around here with a heart? If it hadn't come straight from the cop's mouth, I may be more skeptical as well but I was the one who was there and it sounded legit to me.

Even though it's not official, they still consider Wednesday night as Bike Night and I believe Happy Hour is stretched til 9pm instead of the normal 7. They have certain appetizers cheaper and double the wings on the appetizer size. Not sure what deal they have on the drinks.

This wasn't just a bunch of bikers getting together to do this. We got the info that night from a Columbus cop in uniform (not a Halloween costume) so I think he'd know what he was talking about. I don't know all the details, I don't know how much money he made and I don't know what percentage of his pay went into a retirement fund. The fact is that his family is being screwed because somebody in charge has made a shite decision! If you don't want to participate, that's fine. It sounded like a good cause and I simply wanted to put it out there for those who are interested. Why does everything have to turn into a bitch-fest on this board?!?! For those who do give a damn, I'm gonna check out Pony today and see if there's any more info about it.

If I were off, I'd be there, because it's gonna be the warmest day this week, almost 70! Maybe I'll ride to work instead. How cold do you think it will be at 2am when I get off?

It was either on "Trauma - Life in the ER" or "Code Blue." I don't know what time they play for you normal ppl, but I was watching them at 2am and 3am on Discovery Health.

I'll have to see what time it is...I get off work 6am and have to be back at 6pm for another 12 hours. I probably should sleep some time that day... I'll see if we can find out more, but I think it's in the morning.

I was watching one of those real ER shows where they film at hospitals lastnight. I thought to myself that it was strange that they hadn't had any victims from a motorcycle crash yet and the next patient was just that. He was at the track with a 125 Honda and at about 110mph the engine seized up and he high-sided, landing on his shoulder. He, of course, had on full leathers and a helmet. He ended up with a dislocated shoulder, fractured collar bone, a pneumothorax (air in his chest) and maybe something to his wrist too. They asked if he's ever crashed before and would be on the bike again. He said he had had several crashes but he wasn't sure about getting back on the bike this time, as this was the worst of his injuries (lucky guy, really). This guy was 71 years old!!! He had been racing for about 40 years!!! His wife was right there with him! I want to be that cool when I'm that old!!! And at the end of the show it showed him right back on the track!

There is a ride for Nov 4th, I think it's going to be a Poker Run, that they were talking about at the Lube the other night. Their was a Columbus cop who was on his way to work when he crashed and died and because his shift hadn't started yet and wasn't on the clock, the powers that be at the police department are refusing to pay his pension to his family! He left behind a wife and 2 kids and the money will go to help them. If anyone is interested, there may be more info on the Lube site.

Where was everybody? Oh, was it too cold for you pussies?! No really, the ride there was a little chilly and the ride home was moreso, but it really wasn't that bad. A few of us went straight to the Lube. Yes, it was the night for dressing up and we had fun. We didn't realize it was until we got there tho. We did get acknowledged for being brave and riding that night! And gsxr750girl at least got that free beer! They had games and a costume contest and gave away a trip to Vegas, there was a DJ and stuff in the bar area so we had a good time. Sorry you missed out on all the fun. Maybe next week...

Don't worry, I have to work, so I'm sure the weather will be nice. It only rains on my off days lately! Haven't been out on my bike for 2 weeks!

Just a little note on the the vegetarian issue.... I had a girl at work who refused to buy a turkey for Thanksgiving. I understand that if enough ppl don't buy them one year then maybe the demand will be less the next year thus hurting the business. But I was trying to convince her if she doesn't eat the ones that are already dead that they would have only died in vain! LOL That got her thinking!
