  1. sorry to hear man. to your credit though, the thing looks pretty damn nice in the pictures of it.
  2. i have to say, i think i like the pics of it in the shop better. it seems more fitting since most of the mechanical parts on the bike are exposed (very art deco). you should put other cool machines in the background too!
  3. batons come with nice holsters for your belt, and they are collapsable. i guess you could either put some ball bearings in your pocket or just stuff them into your tighty whitys, although the latter might be a more difficult location to reach in time of need...
  4. i wouldnt worry about corrosion as much as shorting the board. if theres any water left shorting two leads on the board, it WILL fry if it hasnt already. alcohol cleans to a point but sometimes stuff only comes out with water. you can use a toothbrush or something to really scrub it too.
  5. with electronics you can wash them in water as long as they arent plugged in, but you have to dry them COMPLETELY before giving them juice again. but this is for thigns that work. from the sound of it your module is already fried in some spots, in which case, cleaning the mud off is going to do nothing but make it look better. i would suggest trying to find a new module on ebay or something.
  6. which would be a shame because that bike has some serious badass going for it
  7. im not a racer and im sure they do, but you might also try the WERA forums for faster results, and im sure you already did this, but gixxers are constantly being parted out on ebay.
  8. i had a LOL after reading this. but seriously, if you didnt see the pictures of the totally BADASS bike you made, this would be a funny statement.
  9. someone tried to pass me on an entrance ramp to the freeway when i was on my 250 once. i was really pissed off, which isnt always good as many people have stated with firearms being so readily accessible. i told the story to some guy who rides a goldwing and he whips out an expandable police baton and says "thats why i carry this, they wont forget about a big dent in their car". not saying its the right way to handle things, or even a safe or legal way, jus sayin.
  10. team suzuki/yoshimura sticker, not yoshimura exhaust, 600 sticker, not 600 bike...are you just a habitual liar or what?
  11. yeah ill pass on the jack. i guess ill have to try and find someone to bum some tools off of to do my dirty work until i get home. dont really have room for the stands in my car to drive back home.
  12. are swingarm/fork stands the only way to get a sportbike off the ground, or can you use a motorcycle jack? theres a jack in my house currently and no swingarm stands, otherwise i wouldnt care and would just look into stands. oh and it is one of the jacks that has two rails, not a bed, for the bike to sit on. on a sidenote, are there any swingarm stands that anyone could recommend? possibly something that i can easily disassemble for storage, or am i asking too much? well too bad.
  13. the sad thing is that bike is about to sustain damage costing more than my bank account will probably ever see in its lifetime...
  14. theres a dude at work who obsesses over bacon...hes got bacon mints and bacon chocolate and bacon beer. most of those things gross me out.
  15. i would take off the passenger pegs and the rear hugger. i love that orange/black color scheme for the 1k tho.

    Gloves

so i told you all i ordered a pair of the tourmaster synergy heated gloves and i would tell about them later. well they came in and ive been using them for a few weeks now and boy what a difference. i think ive had them down into the 30 degree temps, and my hands still feel fine with no gloveliner. the gloves are pretty well made and have a nice long gauntlet to cover the wires and your wrist. its commonly said that the thumb has no heating element. this is not true, but you will be a lot colder in the thumb as i found they make the thumb slot rather large and the heating element doesnt make much contact. the setup is simple: you attach a wire to the battery and let it hang out a few inches from under the seat. the harness that plugs into the gloves runs through your jacket and out your sleeves, the other end plugs into the cord hanging from your seat. theres also three heat settings on these, so if its just a little cold, you dont have to burn your hands off. it also supposedly has a rainproof inner lining, but i have yet to test that, and i wouldnt want to get these wet for any extended periods as they are leather. hope this helped.
  20. arent there like 72 virgins involved in the process somewhere too? maybe im confused with something else...
  21. really easy to get to. you just take the PAINE TRAINE downtown and hang a left.
