  1. Yeah the back straight for trackdays only had the 100s. the first time 5,4,3,2,1 was the AMA shared practice. Yeah I was pushing to just past the 300 on the front last time, but I was so screwed up on my line in 1 it wasn't funny. I could have pushed farther and waited to turn in a little longer.
  2. Ah that is the ADD he deals with. Bleed remember. Pump, break loose, tighen, pump, break loose, tighten...
  3. I have never had but the 100, 200, 300. That i have seen. I have never seen 400. But I could run WOT to the 5. then situp and brake.
  4. Don't for get Brake Rotors, and Warped...
  5. I was glad to have the #s that Shared AMA/STT day. that is the only time I have ever had those markers. The 100, 200, 300 are BS. I got to the point I was using the last photo hole before the fence went back. I thought I was really lame till that day when the 5 board was right at that hole. I would like to see some 1:35s this year and maybe 34s or so for the RRGC. 1:38.3 best so I think that is doable. My luck I will only get a 1:36.00, that always pisses me off.
  6. Yep sounds about right. Kind of like my battle with Peters at Nelson in May for the Novice A superbike Win. I just about hit him every lap into 13. Pull up underneath and even at the exit of 13 but see him wheelie a bit over that litte rise on the front and back at it again. I was hoping I could make a pass into 4 and try and get some distance and maybe do a slow time around the carosel get him down in the power at exit while I got run. I think if I could have been infront of him into the carosel, I could have been close enough into 12 to make pass there and open a gap through 13 and lead onto the front. then a pass in 1 and open up enough to stay in front out of 3. But who knows. Had I ran the same times I ran in May I would have smoked him, but he dropped the same 2 seconds I did.
  7. Next year I'll let you take the 1k out...Maybe if you don't get a ride for Fasttrax Putnam round we can split 3 ways.
  8. Knowing drew with his MX background it will be WFO to the last brake marker, hit the right/outside curb jump the edge straight into the mid of the chicane lean in to start the run to the keyhole. Drag Helmet on apex curb. Hit downshift into keyhole and drag helmet on inside of keyhole entrance till time to power out of keyhole....
  9. On the 1k I was braking for the chicane but unless there is another rider I never brake on the 6. WFO to the 100 quick downshift to 3rd then hit the curb on the right of the entrance put the knee imediately on the left curb and let it run out 5-7 feet off inside curb till front starts to push then pick gas up to hit the second curb on the left before standing it up for the Keyhole entrance where I brake and hit a downshift into 2nd.
  10. Hey Lizard would you agree that being lazy on the street on a 1k could be a little safer then going all out to get the same time on a 600 riding it closer to the edge? (Just curious) I agree with you on the Mid OH. The 1000 is a handful in the 7-11 section with all that power (I had more air over wheelie hill going 2 seconds slower on the 1000 then I ever had on the 600 because of power but still 2 seconds slower). And yes a lot riders (racers and street) are faster on 600s then on 1000s (includes expert racers) as the reason Lizard states the Control the 1000 requires is that much more refined. I feel safer on the street on a 1000 because I am riding more lazy with the gas and can still have the same feel. I really hope to get a 06/07 to race this year to get a feel for the newer 600s at pace as I have only been on my 03 600. I know I am not skilled enough to feel much of a difference in handling between the 6 and 1k, but hopefully I can develop it.
  11. Not me... I may go down Next year to race at Daytona in the CCS races to see how I can do.
  12. Yeah with any 1000 someone who knows how to wheelie will make it come up with ease. Someone like myself who never got any good at wheelies will have a harder time. Even my 929 i could tell seemed to pull forward more then pivot around the rear axle on hard acceleration.
  13. But to me getting on the bike drunk is all him in the first place, then letting her on the bike knowing he had been drinking was a 2nd of his mistake. Yeah her mistake of getting on the bike is also hers, but it is still the rider's responsiblity.
  14. I have always wanted to flog a 750. I got to ride Flounders but with the headshake from the Rotors at 100mph, 120mph was all I was willing to do. Yeah the 750 didn't have that instant power the 1000 had but had enough in 1st and 2nd to keep those used to 1000s happy. Thing with wheelies is that the CBRs always had a more forward bias even though one may not feel it in the ergos, but they always were known for refusing to wheelie.
  15. Sure looks like someone else on her bike....
  16. Someone may have taken a nap for a year. This is December of 2007. 2008 will begin in two more weeks.
  17. He should have gotten the 8 years IMO.
  18. But if the ad says Freight and Setup then they can still charge it.
  19. Another factor is the fact that to get the same pull out of the corner as a 600 the 1000 can operate in the lower RPM. Which isn't as violent of input into the tire. On the track I found that I could come out harder on the 1000 with less work. On the 1000 you can leave getting that extra power on exit later since you have more power then you can on a 600. On the 600 you are trying to get as much power and pull out of the corner as soon as you can. On the 1000 you can hold off that few more degrees of lean angle and still get more corner exit speed then 600s are capable of. It is easy to make a 1000 turn just as easy as a 600 with small geometry change and just give the bar that extra push to turn in and you are there.
  20. For the street the 1000cc is my choice for several reasons. 1. You don't have to work as hard (less shifting, power when you want it). 2. Most will not feel the difference on the street between 600 and 1000. You can't push hard enough on the street to feel the difference (if you do then you won't be upright very long) Hell I have ridden my 03 600 and my 06 1000 back to back on the track and can't really feel the difference of turn in (just the extra 30 mph I am scrubbing into the corner. 3. I enjoy having the ability to get kick ass acceleration with minimal work on the street. I don't have to nail the gas on the 1000 as I would end up doing on the 600. Id say those people who say on the street they can feel the difference of turn in are not using their bars for turn in or at least not enough. Bikes today respond so quick to bar inputs it really isn't that hard to turn them in. Now holding on to the 1000 on exit is a lot of fun.
  21. Well you would still use the Keyhole, but could you imagine how different it would be being able to enter from track left instead of at the exit of the chicane? I am going to try and get Matt to help me out at Grattan this year. I see one of our rounds is the Grattan National round. I may bail on the 20 lap race. I don't want to get my ass lapped several times by Jensen and Batey.

    the 08 zx10

No, that means the Bike loses less power between the Crank and the rear wheel. So it loses less power through the transmisson and Clutch not the aerodynamics. With them measuring on a Dyno Aeros would have no play into any of those numbers.

I thought you swallowed it already???
  24. For older true Muscle cars Ford. Old 60s mustangs are the top for me.
  25. I couldn't watch it all. I had to walk away when it through some of the real dumb parts. But that is me, I don't really like the dumb spin off movies.
