  1. Like I said from the feedback I got is the R1 tube doesn't make as much of a difference on the 06 series as it did on the previous models.
  2. Well you have had more practice dodging the Beginner riders more then i have
  3. I got up to 16 after about 10 tries
  4. I got 11 then 13 once I got past their first move 18 shouldn't be to bad with some practice.
  5. All I got left is to do oil and I can't decide if I want to do the coolant now or when i get to tally. they are requiring Water so Have to drain. Shit. After i may look at doing the zip tie mod to the throttle since on the 05-06 the R1 tube doesn't make much difference.
  6. Easy way to fix this for two wheels. lane splitting all the way. Legalize and maybe the a-hats will start looking for us, or we just pass them and leave to their own little world that revolves around them. Michigan drivers are also notorious for left lane driving.
  7. I still wish I knew how Sheehan got the brakes on this 1k so damn stiff. they are facking awesome.
  8. Only 04-05 I got to ride was Flouders rotor shaking 750. I am going to run Talladega Feb 2-3 (Wizards team school, and Ed Bargy trackday, so Sixx and Dave will be there) and see if I can make any head way with the Bridgestones (Pirellis were on it but not sure if it was setup for them either. I would like to get a fraction more speed on turn in and transitions, but i don't want to get to much change in the rear as that felt really good at Putnam and Mid Oh. But i got some things to change and get used to as I am using Rubens Swing arm Offsets now as well.
  9. I didn't think there was that big a geometry difference in the 04-05 models to my 03 as there was for 06 to 03.
  10. The spring rate also has to take in effect Swingarm angle, front bias, Rake and trail. Where one bike a 450 could support 200 lbs on another bike with different Geometry 450 would only support 150 (example only). I know the 01-05 the GSXRs for track you would raise the front end 5mm or so but raise the rear 10mm at a min. 06-07 and 08 more then likely to get ideal settings they are raising the front 5+ (as much as stock would allow, and some put fork extenders so they could raise it more) and only raising the rear 2-3 or less. My 06 1k race feels like the front end is higher then the rear, but still handles good.
  11. Ok.... I think I will go home now... I gots to do an oil change on the 1k before talladega, and put on the GP shift quickshifter (for fat lazy rider).
  12. I see they fixed the World Supersport times. I bet the WSBK guys were pissed that Parks ran faster on his 600 supersport bike then most of the others on their superbikes. I feel this will be a ducati year once bayliss gets his bike the way he wants it.
  13. Was that last one for me???? I am thinking of doing something faster to loose weight. Home Lipo... I have a shop vac.
  14. Slow fat person on a bike. can't help that.
  15. Well then one of the guys LP Racer support program ain't got a clue. When I bought the Triple (I was shooting for 180lbs spring) the guys said the 425 was for 180-200. Oh well I am probably not good enough to tell a difference anyway.
  16. So that is what they call what you and Flounder Do..

You sure got some great roads to cruise around down there. I love riding around the area between Peebles and Portsmouth.
  18. I still say you could use the 450. I used a 425 at 200lbs. I never got a good comparo to the 475 I put on after. Only time on it was Putnam and Mid-OH. But I did go faster on it so maybe it was better. But I think the forks refreshed with new and correct oil level was the biggest difference.
  19. I have been doing some test launches on the street bike and the Gix 1ks have a spot you have to get past quick or else it damn near dies. I would say the first 1/16 to a 1/8 once the clutch starts to grab if you get into there to slow the bike looses 50% of the RPM. When i wasn't sure I would add in more throttle but then once I got the clutch past that the RPM would shoot right up. I learned to get past it. Now I just have to get a little more aggressive with the clutch rate and adding in power and should easily be in the 1.9 60'

+1 That is very nice combination and very unique..
  21. As long as you set your launch around 5-6k rpm your not going to burn up a clutch. Hell my race 600 8 drag runs plus 30 race starts and 3 years of track riding on the stock clutch and it still wasn't slipping. Just FYI.
  22. He'll never hide his true feelings Would love to get into the 10s (should be easy), but really need to get consistant lower 1.9 sixty foot.
  23. I will come up to this for some launch practice on the race bike. Just in time for first race in April. Hell yeah.
