  1. I know a few people that run the headlight modulators. They say they are great for getting the attention of those people that might make a left turn in front of you. However they do cause people in front of you slow down and some people do get drawn to them.
  2. Get well soon and as someone that has had kidney stones I feel for ya. I wouldn't wish those on anyone!
  3. Definitely clean the switches that will give you the opportunity to inspect the switch to see if you have loose connections and or broken connections. Oops it looks like likwid said the same thing.
  4. I am not used to working on fully faired bikes so this is a learning experience for me:) My R/R is on the side of my bike with it's cooling fins to the wind:)
  5. Thanks for the help guys very much appreciated! Also could it be tested if it is removed from the bike or is that what you meant?
  6. I have question for you guys, my friend on a 98VFR and I were ridding in South East OH today when he lost all electrical power to the bike. All of the fuses are good and the batter is a little low but not bad. Do any of you know of a way to test the regulator/rectifier, and if the regulator is out will that also keep the dispays from showing up on the dash?
  7. Yea I know several people that have repaired that with out tearing the engine apart. I will have to check my files to see if I can find it for you.
  8. If it is a cam shaft problem it would be at the top of the heads, and the only way one of them would be knocking is if it is broken, and there would be a heck of a lot more noise if that were the case.

  9. While you are checking for the leak check around the clutch push rod seal. Those have been known to leak. You are putting that bike back together like I did my V65 magna just a few parts and my own time.
  10. I got a nice ride in with leather jacket, gloves, boots, and riding jeans. Yes it was hot but as already has been said sweat wipe off.
  11. Congrats on getting everything back together and working!! Could the oil leaks be from the tubes that run under the carbs? Sometimes those o rings go bad.
  12. Start simple and check your fuses. If the problem is electrical that will give you a good indication as to where to look.
  13. Sounds like they allready had the car sold and figured if you were going to drive that far to look at a car they could sucker you into getting something else.
  14. Have you checked the availability of a donor engine?
  15. Damn I hate working on something and finding where someone else had been there before and then finding all of the crap they did wrong and haveing to fix it!
  16. Excelent pics and ride!! Thanks
  17. Sorry to hear about your accident, glad to hear you are ok!
  18. Yep that is what I need to do, but I need to get a new cover first.
  19. What did you do with the seat, I need to do something bad to mine it is 25 years old and the foam has compressed and the cover has a tear.
  20. Dude you don't have to believe me if you don't want to I really dont care but it does work and it doesn't mean the master cylinder is broken.
  21. If your lever is tied back that pushes the fluid down to the brake caliper if you were to tie it in that position and let it stay what would keep a air bubble from traveling up to the highest point? The highest it can go is to the mastercylinder if you want to you can crack the lid on the mc in the morning but I wouldn't leave the mc open over night since brake fluid is hydroscopic.
  22. You can call bullshit all you want but I have done it and it works:D
  23. The best this is it can't hurt and if it helps you aren't out anything.
  24. That is me and my oldest son when he was like 13, he is now 19 and moved out of the house:) I need a better pic no doubt!
