  1. Great pics! I would love to ride on a track sometime it looks like alott of fun!
  2. Then it sounds like the reverse bleed is about the only thing you have left. You can also turn the bars so that they master cylinder is at it's highest point, and put a small block between the grip and the lever so the lever doesn't go all the way to the grip and then wrap a bungie around the grip and lever. If you leave it like this overnight sometimes the trapped bubble will travel back up to the master cylinder. I know this sounds strange but it does work I have done it.
  3. Crack the banjo bolt to see if a air bubble get trapped in there.
  4. Check your master cylinder and see if the return hole is clogged up.
  5. Don't you just love working of V4 carbs, they can be a pain in the ass to get in and out though if you don't have new boots.
  6. The only problem I have heard about with useing lemon pledge is that it attracts bees:eek:
  7. Very cool group of people, alot of the group have been together well over 10 years and are from all over the country. The thing that drew everyone together was the bikes but now we are like a family and there all different kinds of bikes that show up.
  8. I think I would look into why the bike wouldn't run after being sprayed?
  9. There are groups for just about everybike out there. I was with a group for the old three cylinder yamahas for xs 750-xs850 for quite a while. I am now with a group for the old V4's mostly magnas and sabres of all years and sizes and quite a few vfrs and interceprtors. We have maintentce clinics, and many get togethers all over the country. The spring one is now in Tellaco(sp) TN at the Hunts Motorcycle Camp Ground where the owners Jack and Lori actully met and then married while on our list. We have a late summer meet in Maine and the early summer meet here in Ohio at the Burr Oak State Park. This year we had over 45 people show up and stay the weekend where we planned rides all over Southern OH and WV I put well over 500 miles on my bike in a couple days. It is fun getting together with people that ride the sames bikes and tell lies and swap stories.
  10. Yep champagne taste and cheap beer money.
  11. I love the little 500 interceptors they are some great little bikes! I would love to have one as well as a late 90's VFR
  12. Yes there were problems with the oiling in the heads of the engine but not all of them had the problems. Mine doesn't have the problem on my last valve check the cams looked great no pitting. If you do get one that has the problem there are several kits you can buy to correct the problem. The V65 Sabre was built more for sport touring and has a much better fuel range and in my opinion better seating position, but the Magna's are prettier:D
  13. If you want to make a another trip to Charleston WV with out the highway you can take 23-35 over to 64, Not a bad trip you just have to watch OH police.
  14. Love the interceptors and will be following your build!!
  15. If you do find one on Craigslist make sure it doesn't say something about the 2nd gear not working. That can be fixed but who wants to split the cases?
  16. I bought my 84 v65 Magna for 500 and pretty much replaced the hoses, flushed the radiator, cleaned the carbs, dropped in a KN air filter, replaced the fork springs and seals, changed the brake lines to braided stainless steel and have been ridding since with out any real problems. I have ridden many back to back 400 mile days with no problem. It has a 6 speed trans with 6th being a overdrive, drive shaft rear end, duel disk brakes up front and a single on the rear. I can cruise 80 on the highway with the tack sitting at 4 grand, it red lines at 10. I can hit about 110 in the upper ranges of third gear and it is still pulling like a train on up. I have never had it higher than 130 indicated which I am sure is off. If you have any questions let me know. Oh yea and I did put Dunlap radials on and the handling was night and day. I scrape the pegs all day and have about 1/4 inch of chicken on them:)
  17. My daily rider is a 84 V65 Magna that just rolled over 48K. I absolutely love the bike and the v4 power!
  18. Welcome, You want to use theirs bike just in case you drop it. You don't want to hurt your bike:D
  19. This is the kind of person that I refuse to ride with! If he won't take hints wants to ride like a idiot I don't want him taking me out as well. Julie did you get that email with the advanced class info?
  20. Dang that poor Dakota, and yep that looks like the drive shaft! How in the hell do you do that?
  21. Ha that is one way to take care of the problem:D
  22. A guy I worked with in VA wanted to start riding and everyone laughed at him for looking at smaller bikes to learn on. So he went with a liter bike it took him a month or two before he got out of the hospital after having the bike about 2 weeks. So I would much rather see someone start out and learn on a much smaller bike then progress up to the more powerful bikes. Much safer that way.
